    Hey Brian,

What is the word that is being capitalized? There are some words that are included in the standard language model that cannot be removed.

My assumption is it is probably one of those.

    Hi!

I registered here to report a similar problem as you, Brian. For me it happens when I miss the space key and several words are written togeher likethis (in my language): I am very happy that the autocorrect feature often recognize the words and separates them for me, but at the same time it capitalize the first letter of the first word so "likethis" becomes "Like this". I do not want capitalized letters in the middle of the sentence and would appreciate if this feature could be adjusted. I have submitted this issue in the support section today.

    Hi Jostein,

What language do you use that this happens in? How easy can you reproduce it?

If you can reproduce it, how do you do it? Does it happen with "likethis"

I think I knew it. It happens when I mix English and my local language Filipino. It should be able to detect that even mixed languages it should not capitalize mid sentence. It should only capitalize when I manually edit or type so.

    Can we give examples, please.

Sometimes it is happening sometimes not. This is my example.
"I would like to get to the bottom ng issue bakit nangyari yun Fail" can be loosely translated as I would like to get to the bottom of the issue why the fail... It is not a complete thought but the word Fail is capitalized.

I've noticed some of this behavior too.  Some words I use will become randomly capitalized with no rhyme or reason.  I'll have to long press on the word, tell it to forget it, and then type the word in again (with no capitalization) to fix it.  I have no idea what causes this behavior.

Additionally, I have noticed something new within the last week or so.  When I capitalize a word to type it in, Swiftkey will also capitalize the word before it.  Example: If I were to type in "I would like to go to Steak and Shake", it will autocorrect it to read "I would like to go To Steak".

I've been having this same issue for a while. When I long press and tell SK to forget the capitalized word, it will still come back and Capitalize it next time anyway. GREAT EXAMPLE here! It just auto capitalized the word "Capitalize". I have the keyboard set up in English and Spanish. It's actually an annoying enough and frequent enough issue that I am considering changing to another keyboard app if this is not resolved soon.

This happens to me using voice-to-text. One example is when I said something about something being on "the edge," with those words in the middle of a sentence, and they were capitalized. It can't be because I have used those words capitalized in any sentence and the dictionary remembered them. Maybe it comes from something in a dictionary in the SwiftKey cloud that someone else used. But this happens routinely, and it is really, really tiresome. I'm using voice to text here, and the word "cloud" above was capitalized. I can't remember ever typing in "SwiftKey Cloud." I am using a Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and I have seen complaints about this with Samsungs, so I don't know if that's part of the problem. I just wish I could figure out what's causing it and do something to stop it!

SwiftKey does not control voice to text. This is a completely different service. Most likely provided by Google or Bixby or similar.

When you launch voice to text, SwiftKey hides and the other service takes over.

I have the same problem. I use Swedish language and mitle in the sentence i get i capital letter. Like when i wrote this sentence the "i" ist suggested as "I" and a
Auto correct to capital. And now the word auto also. I noticed it past month. I think also the Swedish language file is not the best. I tried g board and it worked fine with words but i found other better things with SwiftKey and changed back. But it's annoying

I am not using voice-to-text, but I am on a Samsung device (Note8) and have been having the problem mentioned above on March 16th of last year: auto-capitalization of the entire preceding word when I type the next word in all caps. I have to switch to the default Samsung keyboard for two words, then back to work around this. This has occurred with words I have been typing for the first time as well as words I use frequently, so a prediction error seems unlikely.

I have the same issue, and this started cropping up for me in the past six months I believe. Galaxy S8, only English.

For example, I type in "This" and then try to type in "is" which comes out as "Is." There's also something that I believe is related in that many times words come out in all caps for no apparent reason (i.e., the preceding word was not in all caps).

This is definitely driving me to drop Swiftkey.

One other observation: This happens to me when I start a new sentence (which correctly autocapitalizes). The second word almost always autocapitalizes as well. If I don't correct this, all subsequent words in the sentence autocaps. If I do correct, then everything is fine.

OK I seem to have resolved this somewhat by turning off autocorrect in settings.
