    Hi there,

The enter key behavior is not controlled by SwiftKey but by the app in which you're using. It's very normal that you won't find it in SwiftKey settings.

For example, in WeChat and WhatsApp, there's a setting inside the app to choose the default behavior of enter key (a toggle of "send message by tap enter key" or similar settings).

That can't be though. I'm dealing this issue in the Allo app and of I've tried different keyboards but the only one that does this is SwiftKey.

I just tried TouchPal and SwiftKey in Allo, both keyboard sends the message instead of inserting a return.

    Only Gboard inserts the return.
    Which keyboard have you tried?

Standard Google keyboard does not. It inserts a return.

Besides Google keyboard, have you found anything else?

So you mentioned this as being a recent thing.

Do you know if it was a SwiftKey or Allo update?

A few Allo updates have rolled out recently. I wonder if it's related to that.

I've been having this same issue since Allo launched. Gboard can make a line break but swiftkey can't.

I also have this issue. I can make a line break with Gboard and Samsung keyboard, but SwiftKey just deletes text as if I'm pressing the backspace key.

This issue still exists in SwiftKey Beta. It's very frustrating. I also confirm that Gboard inserts a return, while SwiftKey Beta does nothing.

I did change the setting in Allo to NOT send messages with "Enter", so now no action happens when it's pressed.

This issue still needs to be fixed. I have to switch to Samsung keyboard every time I want to use a carriage return in Allo. I'm sure other apps also have this problem.
I also had to download a special keyboard for pasting passwords sometimes, since I use a password manager there is just no way I'm about to type it out. Paste functionality/clipboard needs to always be accessible in some manner.

Happening with me still as well.
I've only noticed it in Allo, all other chat apps work fine. Gboard inserts line break.
