Please can you add the T9 layout and please do not underestimate how valuable it is. Not having larger keys is ruining my phone experience. The phonepad layout is so much easier to use if you have medium to large fingers. It is also extremely efficient - I rarely miss keys.

I have read moderator comments that the T9 layout is 'out of date'. I am sorry but removing steadfast basic functionality that people are accustomed to is illogical and highly unhelpful. This is not something that goes out of date - people won't just suddenly start using tiny keys

If your aim is to provide for a wide customer base then please bring the T9 layout back. There is clearly support for it. If we have to pay for it, so be it. I will definitely not continue to use swiftkey as I need an efficient keyboard that I can touch-type, on the move, and reduce the current level of frustration over such a fundamentally basic point!

I would also like to request to keyboard layout as an option. I am struggling with using the qwerty keyboard. It's making it frustrating and unpleasant to use my phone. Please consider adding this function.

Please do give us a T9 Layout....  I have tried many keyboard layouts from many providers, and I find the T9 layout the most intuitive, productive, and compatible with my adult brain...because I don't have to look over 26 keys like on a QWERTY or AZERTY or etc. keyboard.  I can use one hand...and the characters are concentrated in a small area using only 9 keys....

I really like Swiftkey because it enables me to type in the 3 languages that I need -  equally well - using predictive text supported by excellent software (English, Afrikaans, Filipino or Tagalog).

T9 functionally will make Swiftkey the best in my view!  Please listen to your brand-loyal customers Swiftkey....and keep up the good work!

    Thank you.

I would request for a T9 layout in English. I've been using T9 layout for more than 10m years and would very much prefer this keyboard as it only has 9 keys to press.

Here's another request to add the t9 keyboard!

Since many years I've owned only the Compact Xperia series (4.6") which I love, but writing in full QWERTY in that small screen is super slow and annoying

    Hello there!
It would be so lovely if you include the T9 in Danish. The sooner the better. Your word prediction works fantastic but the T9 is a strange thing to leave out.
    Kind regards,

I would love to use this keyboard, but can only do so if you introduce the T-9 layout. It's claimed that it's not had many requests for this however from a quick search on google I've seen many requests for this layout on swift keyboard.

I'd like to add my request to the list for the T9 layout option. As many have said before I've used this input method for 10+ years and struggle to use qwerty. I've just upgraded my phone and will now have to use a competitors app. Even though it may be old there are still lots of people out there who grew up using it and its still a fast and efficient way to type on the go.

I was hoping after the acquisition by Microsoft this issue would have been resolved.

I refer back to my original post here (https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000562825/comments/115001038049) my position has not changed. Please initiate a T9 layout.

As you can see the need for a t9 3x4 keyboard is still very much alive. Please add it.

Hi,I can only confirm the requests from above. Please, give us our 3x4 T9 keyboard back.
There's no other way you can type just with one finger and blind with any other keyboard layout, not even commenting on speed.

Totally agree, please give us the T9 keyboard. How hard can it be, it's not like you'd need to invent and design something totally new... As already pointed out on this thread, T9 is so much quicker to use than qwerty, less risk for typing mistakes, convenient even when writing without looking at the phone etc.

Can't even imagine how hard it is for older people to not be able to use T9 when they are more or less forced to change to smartphones. Also many, like for example my parents from Finland, don't have the ability to write in English on support forums to complain, and many won't even know how to download and install other keyboards on their new phones. And then they are stuck with qwerty with those awfully small keys (as long as they don't have younger family members to help them install something new, which doesn't always happen that often when living far apart) :/

If I wouldn't love having Spotify and a camera on my phone, even I would go back to my soon 16 years old Nokia 3310 (yes, still working like a dream), since obviously the newer versions of Sony Xperia phones with Android Oreo won't support the Xperia keyboard, and the developers of SwiftKey seem to have no interest in developing a T9 version on their app... But since I really like some things with smartphones, I've downloaded the Go Keyboard, that for me seems to be closest to the keyboard on my old Xperia Z Compact.

It would be smart of SwiftKey to actually respond to the customer's interest in T9, but obviously they don't care too much about how many users their app actually has, as long as people keep buying Sony phones with SwiftKey preinstalled... But according to Sony's support forum some people are changing to other brands' phones too, which also I'm considering. T9 was for me a good reason to buy Sony, but not anymore... As long as SwiftKey isn't interested in including T9.

Hi! Another vote for the t9 keyboard!
I originally got used to using it via "Suretype" on my old Blackberry Storm. :)
I then found that the regular sized keyboard and tiny letters were too small and annoying. I used Smart Keyboard Pro for many years but decided that if I wanted to use Swiftkey, Gboard, etc then I would have to suck it up and try to get used to a regular layout.
Well, I gotta say... I am still not used to it and it's been years. I really have the worst accuracy with these tiny keys and it's driving me nuts!
So I'm hoping you help us all out with adding t9 lay out to your awesome app. Thank you!!!

My current T9 keyboard got completely ruined, so I uninstalled it. Now searching for a good alternative, but Swiftkey didn't have T9. With T9 I can write lightning fast. Without T9...not so much. I can not use swipe style. Those who complain about T9 being bad and slow have either had bad T9 or have never seen someone who is used to T9 actually using it. Trust me, I can outwrite most people when I have a really good T9 keyboard.

    The benefits with T9:
*Bigger keys, easier to push the right key
*With a good layout and good dictionary, you can write as fast as lightning
*Small number of keys, combined with big keys means easy to use with one hand while also not having to move fingers around as much as with a whole qwerty keyboard

All in all, T9 rules. If Swiftkey can't provide it, I will use other apps.

I've posted on here about a year ago requesting the T9 layout option and have seen many posts since that have requested it too, but it's obvious that it's not something that the developers are interested in providing.

@Harrier500 right, Sony's Xperia keyboard has a working T9 layout that's quite simple to use. It's a shame it's not available without mods. If SwiftKey can integrate that function/layout with the text and emoji prediction they already have they'd revolutionize smartphone interface. I wonder what feature the developers are focusing on instead.

Alexander Volk: That app is bad. Why even put up a link for it? We want either a T9 layout in Swiftkey or a really good alternative. I've tried most alternatives and the only ones that are good are also bogged down by way too many ads.

The best I could find was Touchpal, but even that got destroyed by ads.
