Just moved from win10 mobile and find it incredible that this feature is missing in a Microsoft keyboard software. Come on guys! Make it true!

Thank you, I'm definitely going to GBoard ;-)

This is an absolutely essential feature. I find myself editing punctuation, pasting things etc all the time, where this feature would be insanely useful and prevent lots of frustration.

I just switched over from using the Chrooma Keyboard and was very surprised when I discovered that SwiftKey didn't support this feature. I'd often use it to fix my punctuation, especially apostrophes and colons when I'd mention a time, and to fix typos.

It would be very helpful to be able to move the curser by swiping in one direction or the other on the space bar.

How much comments you need, Microsoft, to see, that you lose so much user on Gboard because this one missing feture. I will test Gboard, when this feature isn't added in 3 months. Program and add this feature need 1-2 after view request????????????

Literally signed in for the first time ever just to say I need this feature. I've been using SwiftKey for at least 4 years. Probably longer and I just always assumed there was a way and I was just too lazy to find it. Now that I know it's not available at all I'm considering a new keyboard even though I love SwiftKey!! Please implement this the sooner the better its so annoying to click 5 times in the same spot trying to edit a text... Haha just happened while editing this post... 😑

Absolutely ridiculous Swiftkey does not have this essential feature yet (2 years since being requested). And the awkward silence around it. Using Gboard until then.

This feature is essential and I'm flabbergasted that it's still not implemented. I recently moved over from iOS and the lack of 3D touch cursor movement is killing my typing experience. It's impossible to accurately tap the screen to move the typing cursor between words and letters to add punctuation and fix typos. Why isn't this implemented yet?

I've also just logged in for the first time since I found out about IOS having this.  For all the features that swift key has I was surprised to see this missing. May have to give gboard a shot, but I've been using swiftkey since it first came out, and would prefer not to change if possible.

+1! I mainly use SwiftKey in floating mode, so the arrow keys doesn't appear on the keyboard. Even when I use it in docked layout, the arrow keys are just making me mistype from the space button A LOT. Really, really hoping SwiftKey can implement this feature soon in Android!

All of this outcry, and not a single response from support.swiftkey. This feature originated as a jailbreak feature on ios years ago. If some dude in his basement can make it, surely you guys can add it too.

Haha, i think they will add ancient languages to SwiftKey first and then implement any other competitive feature - so maybe in another 500 years we might get something.

Please add. Cursor navigation from the spacebar, or add the red nub like windows phone did.

This is seriously ridiculous! This topic has been open for over a YEAR and not even acknowledged by the devs! I mean, this has been implemented by most of your competitors by now, including the native keyboards of both Android and iOS... what's with the silence on this? Is Swiftkey discontinued or something? What's going on?

Hi I also see it important to have this option where you hold the space and then can swipe up, down, left, right between the rows and words....

The question is, does SwiftKey read these comments and do they care of us asking.. They could at least give an update that this is coming...i think the fact SwiftKey is default made them think our voice does not matter.... Is it?

I found this thread while Googling around to see if Swiftkey had this option and was shocked to find the amount of users that are requesting the addition of this feature. It's worrying that this thread is still active after 2 years and the devs have not shown any significant interest in this besides the cookie cutter 'I will forward this to the team' response.

From an outsiders perspective, it certainly looks like this simple feature has not been considered because the devs are simply lazy and/or don't care enough to add it. It's shocking to see that there has been no clarification on this after many people have straight up said that they've stopped using Swiftkey and changed to gBoard JUST BECAUSE OF THIS FEATURE. Honestly what are the devs doing here? They are losing users over here and don't seem to care.

I love Swiftkey and have used it for many years and would like to see a response from the developers. Like other users in this thread, I think I am going to give gBoard a shot for the mean time. I'll happily return to Swiftkey once this feature is added.

I simply find it rude to just ignore this. If the devs have no intention of implementing this at all, just REPLY HERE AND SAY SO! Don't be cowards and just ignore this thread, which has now been constantly active for TWO YEARS with people basically begging for this feature... it's absurd. We know you see all the replies here. Just give us an answer, even if it's a negative one, at least we can stop waiting.... as someone who at the time paid for Swiftkey Pro I feel very disappointed in the dev team here.

I echo the sentiments of the previous 2 comments.

It's ridiculous not to even put in the effort to respond, let alone just develop and implement the damn thing.

I will be joining the (many) others and uninstalling Swiftkey.

I remember the good old days when I was using my jailbroken iPad 4... Must have been about 4-5 years ago now.
Anyway I remember how amazing it was when I discovered a jailbreak tweak to just slide anywhere on the keyboard to move the cursor. It was SO good SO simple that I instantly wanted to use it on every touchscreen device ever.

I've been using swiftkey since I been using android. I recently decided to try Gboard...
SWIFTKEY DEVELOPERS should try Gboard to experience the bliss of easy cursor movement.
I would switch to Gboard INSTANTLY if only they would allow to change the height smaller.

So lets see which happens first. To be honest I don't have high hopes for swiftkey unfortunately.
