Apologies for the late reply. I've done some digging through the SwiftKey Blog and found these two links:

From what I've read, there is no way to turn off transliteration while using the QWERTY layout. However, you can swipe across the spacebar to enter Native Script Layout. This layout will only show predictions in that of script (and not Latin).

Could you possibly provide an example for us, so that we're on the same page?

Also, are you using a particular language that causes this?

I don't understand, an example of what?

I am using three languages. English(UK), Hindi and Gujarati. But the spacebar only gives me the option to use. हिन्दी(Hindi), ગુજરાતી(Gujarati) and hi/en/gu.

And what if I require predictions in Latin script only? Can you think of a possible workaround?

Hello Brandon, Is there an option to just have an english keyboard and a native language keyboard separately. Having a common keyboard as Hi/En has its own problems wherein hindi words are substituted for english words automatically. Maybe if there is an option that Hindi translations are just suggested and not automatically replaced for english words.

Transliteration is the worst idea. I have English, Persian and Swedish. As an example, if I write the English word "man" it automatically gets converted to "من" which is very annoying. Because "من" is read "man" in persian.

I want to be able to choose only english. Or only swedish. Or only farsi. Transliteration should be an option and not a forced feature which decreases the quality of the software.

Out of curiosity, have you hired the same engineers who developed the new skype version 8? If so, then I can predict the future of this great app easily or even better, I should go back to the stock keyboard.

This "bright" idea is very similar to ideas that the Skype teams get. I.e. Implementing forced features without thinking about how much it will affect the users.

    I need

    Ability to turn off transliteration.
Ability to turn off combined language "en/sv"

Totally Agree with Alex, it really sucks when it automatically replace phonetically predicted words when you type in Farsi and it actually takes longer to type correctly than a stock keyboard! so obviously you guys are moving backward with the app! I am looking into better options , this is not a time save anymore, its causing people to laugh at you !

I tried emailing support, they said they would look into it, but that was months ago. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to allow transliteration to be turned off. It's a real nuisance. I use my phone for work emails and texts too and it really isn't appropriate to have random words in another language inserted into my writing.
I just don't know how to raise the priority of this issue to the devs.
I even downgraded my review on the Play Store down to one star, only because I can't score it any lower, but it's like no one's paying any attention. :-(

I emailed support today. What you can do is to edit or submit a review to google play store. And give as many stars as you think this app deserves.

In my case it's one star.

The thing which makes me worried is that this app might be included in windows 10 for surface platforms. That would be terrible if we are going to have transliteration even there.

    Submit support tickets
Edit your review on Google play store to get the attention of developers.

Any news on this annoying feature ?

It would appear there's no news on this. You can tell when software's heading downhill when the devs are too busy fart arsing around tweaking the UI instead of fixing issues that cause real problems for users. The last update seems to have changed the settings button from three bars to a little plus sign. Wow. Makes my life so much better! Not!
