If you're using different layouts (such as QWERTY for English and Dvorak for German), you can swipe left or right on the spacebar to "seamlessly" switch between layouts. Otherwise, SwiftKey will automatically suggest/predict words from all languages you have selected, despite your keyboard layout. You can even have up to 5 languages selected at a time. Hope this helps!

Such a great solution to my problem. Much appreciated. Thanks.

It's impressive but doesn't work very well. Or rather works better if I have only one language switched on. When I have more it mixes languages in suggestions, I type 3 words in one language and the next word is suggested in different one. I would prefer an quick switch button.

    I agree with Pawelski.

I love the fact that somehow, swiftkey tries to identify the language I’m about to type, but sometimes when I want to write in english and I get dutch things get messy and prediction keeps changing what I want to say from english to dutch (or the other way around). There is no button allowing me to change language prediction, like it does for the layouts. I only use 1 layout (azerty).

Of course this problem is particularly acute at the start of a message since the keyboard does not know whether I want to start in English or Dutch. I would much prefer the ability to select the input language.

I also have that problem. Im using 3 languages and I dont know which language is the main.

Please add a Quick select button. going to menu is a long way. Thanks

I'm having the same problem too. When using English, generally (90%) does not give me words from other languages. But when writing Hungarian or Romanian it suggests me all kind of words from all languages I have installed. It is annoying.
99.9% of the cases I do not want to mix languages. So please add the posibility to select the desired language (like it is on windows phones for example). Thanks!

Agreed. In Swedish, "i" means "in", but SwiftKey will without fail correct to "I", no matter how much Swedish I've written before, whether I'm in qwerty or qwerty+åäö or whether I've deleted "I" from the word list. Please give the option to have language follow layout!
Recently decided this was a breaking bug, and would have switched keyboard, if there was only a decent replacement.

I concur. I write three different languages and in general would prefer to manually select which language I use. Some of the useful accented variants of a word that would normally be suggested gets replaced by suggestions from other languages.

I understand that an automatic language switching is more sofisticate, but a language priority is preferable; for example I have both French and Italian, Italian is my natural language, and every time the keyboard starts in French, maybe because the language list is alfabetically sorted

I am looking for a quick language change, and I don't want to switch layouts (which is pretty pointless anyway on a phone - it's relevant when you touch type, but not with thumbs and predictive entry. Of course starting in preferred layout is useful)

I agree with everyone above. I type in up to four languages, but mostly English and French. I'm dyslexic, so it's often hard for me to differentiat between two similar words, so I'll easily end up using French words in English and vice a versa. Having a button to switch between languages would really help. I had this on my HTC one M8, and it worked a charm. Please add this feature as soon as you can. Thanks in advance

Common SwiftKey just add the damm quick change language button In the damm keyboard layout already. This is ridiculous. The auto detect gives errors. So give users the option to choose between auto detect or single language and let them set up languages quickly within the keyboard. 2018 helloo

I agree with the above, especially mk! what is the problem with allowing us to select an input language? in switching to another keyboard until this is fixed

Come on swiftkey do the simple thing first then build on that. This is such a classic design mistake you're making

Damn 2 years and SwiftKey team either don't give a shit about adding a switch key for language or they never check their own forums either way it's just dumb. I find myself like everyone else wishing that the way SwiftKey has the automatic detection will work all the time but like everyone has said I make way to many mistakes when I have 2 to 3 languages enable. The predictions are not as good and the autocorrect does whatever the fuck it wants to do. Kinda like Conor McGregor. Regardless they will push us to google keyboard if they continue like this because I use 2 language Evey single day and I won't be going to the settings every single time to change it

Swiping on spacebar isnt doing anything for me, any suggestions? Ive got 2 languages installed. This app should not be a default app on any device. Not including a language toggle button is just a massive rookie mistake by the developer. Damn you Huawei for not sticking with the classic keyboard!

    Hi Indrek Ojaste

Spacebar swipe switches between keyboard layouts, not languages.  For example, I have Dvorjak installed as my usual keyboard (try it out - it's excellent for two thumbs), and QWERTY for if i hand the phone over to someone else.  Both keyboards bring up the same predictions - from two languages.

The issue of language switching is a different issue.  Sorry - frustrating but hopefully they will sort it out eventually.

I'd really also like to see an alphabetic keyboard - bet that would quickly become a default layout for people!

I'm starting to think the "answered"-badge means this suggestion won't get any more attention, despite the fact that the answer is not a solution to the problem. If only there was a way to mark the answer as not-an-answer.
I'd love to know if SwiftKey believe they have solved language, or if they are actually considering changing this.

David, it certainly looks so. I wonder if there is a way to draw their attention to this topic. Did you try emailing them?
