    I have a galaxy note 8
    Android version 7.1.1
    SwiftKey version 6.7.4.31
No matter what I do the buttons /keys are to small, it's almost as if the largest setting is mistakenly set as a smaller keyboard... I'm only complaining because I have big fingers and I was able to type without many issues a few weeks ago but now the keyboard keys are not the same size as they were before... My keyboard used to take up almost half of the screen now it's only taking up approximately 1/3 of the screen and all the keys are to small...

    Os: Android 7.0
    Device: Samsung Galaxy S8 plus
    SwiftKey Beta Ver.: 6.7.5.28

Issue: As previously mentioned by Jeff, the keyboard layout is too small. I've had this issue for a very long time, over 18 months. I had stopped using SwiftKey altogether, but decided to come back to the Beta program to see if somehow this gets better.

    Looks like Samsung users only.

Do you mind to mention the display resolution you're using and try to switch between FHD QHD to see if it gets better? Samsung has a different approach on this and that caused the problem previously, I wonder if it's the same again.

    Thank you all.

Alpert, in my case it doesn't matter the resolution used.  Those screen shots where taken while the resolution was set to FHD. In HD and WQHD it behaves the same way.

Mine does the exact same thing... No matter what screen resolution I use the keys are way too small... I spend more time re-writing what I've typed and it's becoming completely unproductive and it's unfortunate, SwiftKey was great until MS bought them and started fooling around with it... 😕

It has nothing to do with MS but with Samsung.

It happens only on Samsung devices probably suggest Samsung used a different approach than other Android OEM.

I reported the problem and the team is aware.

Thanks Alpert, but an issue with Samsung phones shouldn't go under the radar with the millions of devices that they sell.  I know that their standard keyboard is based on Swiftkey, but it's just not the same thing.

Samsung default keyboard is based on SwiftKey SDK, yes.

I meant this is a known issue to the team before I reported, they should be trying fixing it with Samsung. Sorry for the previous unclear phrase.

I have a Motorola Moto E4 Plus and I want to make the SwiftKey keyboard keys bigger. The Resize Large setting has big enough keys - but the keyboard is entirely too large in and of itself. Please advise?!

I have an Essential Phone PH-1, and am having the same problem. On my G5 just last week, the Large setting was big enough. But, on the Essential, Largest is still way too small

Well apparently they don't care about the problems we're having... It figures once a small company that was making a great product get's swallowed up by a big company like Microsoft the product that once was great begins to suffer like this one is until eventually it's just tossed away just like they are doing to us their customers who were unwillingly taken over by Microsoft...

SAMSUNG USERS : If you have your device screen resolution to the highest (wqhd+) the keyboard will be bigger. If you set it to fhd+ the keyboard becomes smaller. Keep in mind, even if you have wqhd+ enabled by default, the resolution will a change to fhd+ when power saving mode is on. This will cause a sudden change in your keyboard size.

This used to happen to me about a year ago, now it's small regardless of the resolution and I like to use my device on FHD to save some battery. I had it with the small keyboard, it was hurting my fingers. I've moved on to another one. If this is ever resolved please let me know.

ESSENTIAL PH-1 UPDATE: Similar to the Samsung solution, if you increase your Display Size in Settings, the keyboard will also get bigger.

    • Samsung Galaxy S8 plus
    • Android 8.0
    • Swiftkey ver. 7.06.27

I give up, my fingers can't deal with this any longer. May give it another chance if this is ever resolved.

Made a short video comparing Swiftkey with other options that don't have the size problem. If you pay close attention you can see that Swiftkey is so small that the number row is at about the same height where the others have the QWERTY row.

Here's a Google Photos link for that video.

I know that in the past there was a way to resize JUST the KEYS but I haven't been able to find a way to make my keyboard look like that again.

The same goes with SwiftKey on any of my devices. When I set the minimum width in settings to a higher number, say stock is 420 and I set it to 500 the keys become too small. Instead of pre defined sizes why not make it like TouchPal or FancyKey where you can tap on resize and then drag it as high as you want.

you can forget about fixing it. They just don't give a s.... about this problem. I've been sending them email for over 4 years!!! Typical Microsoft policy. They just adding useless bing options instead of fixing functionality.

They don't care about us, they have never responded to any of us...

They got our money way back when and could careless about us now...

They ruin everything they touch from Windows to this app and more....

You know, the app says I'm 6% more efficient when typing with SwiftKey. Only 6 percent. If the scaling issue was fixed and the keyboard was huge again it'd totally be 100. Swiftkey let's make it happen! I absolutely miss when the keyboard spanned over half the display of my Note9!
