If anything at least make it removable like every other icon in that same bar. Really annoying when it takes up a third of the space.

Seriously. It's really annoying how much space it uses and can't be disabled, or even moved. Is Microsoft paying well?

I hate it. Let me turn it off.

This is absolutely awful. It takes up a third of the bar with a search function I don't want, and it can't be disabled. Really poor judgement.

Let it be an icon like a a search 🔎 icon I guess it will look better

It takes up SO MUCH SPACE just make it an icon and have the ability to disable it like all the other options no one wants it.

Its super helpful, specially the grab screenshots and send options. I am using it all the time and loving it. Please include a basic edit suite for taken screenshots like underlining, highlighting or blurring.
But an option to turn it off for those who are not benefitting for it, should be there as well. Personally, this is of great use. Please don't just remove it.

@chayansen I like the option, I just want to move it over so it's something I can access, but isn't in the way of the shortcuts I use more frequently. It's just silly that the thing that takes up the most space is the only thing we can't move around.

Yes, I totally get it mate. And I don't think it would be a difficult task at all. For me its only location, clipboard and calendar but I totally get it that a lot of people use totally different things and it's always great to have options. Have a good day mate.

Really annoying how large this is, and the fact it can't be toggled off. It's never a feature I'm going to use, but it's taking up most of the menu space, and has ruined my muscle memory for where the menu icons are.

New update today, but the search field is not removable.

It's so bad that I've been trying out new keyboards to replace Swiftkey

Remove Bing or I'm history with this keyboard.. And why did you choose Bing instead of Google, it is on a Google product.. Remove Remove Remove it now or goodbye

They chose Bing because Microsoft bought swiftkey quite a while ago. So far Chrooma is the best replacement I've found.

Just when this keyboard was becoming more convenient and they force this on us.. Thanks Chancedotunderscore for the referral!!!!

Thanks Chance. Chrooma seems really nice. Closest set of customizable features to Swiftlet I've seen in a while. Plus the menu bar icons are fully custom, including the incognito mode option not being buried.

    @chance wow, excellent recommendation!

Seems like I am the only one who is absolutely loving this feature and using it frequently. But please include a basic edit suite in that screenshot option. Like basic underlining, blurring, handwriting etc. So whenever i take a screenshot it i can get this options side by side with the crop button. Also, include a scrolling screenshot option. I will be ready to shell out some decent amount of cash in a heartbeat.
But again, I do agree that search should be optional with a toggle. So as the basic editing screenshot functionality(if it at all gets implemented)

This search field is annoying, a lot of beta users don't want it.

I don't understand why SwiftKey team does not make it optional.

Oh god... I woke up seeing the search bar it annoyed me so much. I thought i press on something and the bar came up. PLEASE REMOVE IT. If not have the function to swtich it off

This is annoying me as well. I purchased SwiftKey because it's customizable but this seems forced. Please make it so I can toggle it off - I don't need a browser in my keyboard.

I'll be changing my review to one star until the search bar is made optional. If you're reading this in the future, looking for a way to disable it, please take the time to notify the app makers that this is garbage behaviour.

Even Gboard has an option to make the Google search optional, like any other feature, I just switched to Gboard until you hear us out, but the longer I wait, the most likely you are to have lost a customer.

I really don't get the sense of it. I can access Google search with one button all the time and don't nee Bing, especially not at a forced part of the keyboard. Please make it removable, like all the other buttons. It takes so much space of the bar! ☹️

I've purchased SwiftKey years and years ago. This may be the final straw. Been going downhill anyway...

two things i have learned, bing sucs and i can turn off that bar with a click on the x to the right of bing. if i ever need it back the + on the suggestion line is there to bring it back. so this allowed me to gain back some space i didn't need to have used.

Make the search results come as in Google's keyboard to be shown in the keyboard not a Bing web page

  • Avatar
    Brandon Dixon

@Julie and so do all the other functions. The problem isn't that the TOOLBAR is there. The problem is the Bing search takes up 30-50% of the toolbar. So features we ACTUALLY want to use and did use previously are now off screen and must be swiped toward, because a feature we don't want it in the way.

@Ash Be aware that Microsoft owns SwiftKey, so they provide their own bing search. Similar to Microsoft translator in SwiftKey. Ok.

But we need this bing search removable by users.

I don't understand why SwiftKey ignores user's feedback here and in Play Store.

I don't really care who owns it. Its been a product that I have used for years because it was the best keyboard for android.  Android is all about flexibility.
