Can not give up typing after a key long press Beantwortet

After long pressing a key user must choose any of the popes up characters. Sometimes usera make a mistake and just wants to give up and this is not possible. Auwift key should show on alternative character list a slot that allows user to cancel the operation. Alternatively it can allow a movement such as moving to space bar to indicate the operation to be canceled. -

Voice typing keeps cutting off in Google Docs - SwiftKey on Android Beantwortet

1 Kommentar
About a week ago (about Sept. 25, 2020), my Google Voice Typing, which I use with SwiftKey (now owned by Microsoft), stopped working. The microphone stayed on in listening mode for only about two to three seconds (depending on my device), unless I kept talking rapidly and unnaturally without any pauses, almost as though I were reading a book for one of those speeded up commercials. If I paused at all, or stopped to think briefly, the microphone would shut off, and I'd have to tap it again to continue. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't hear me at all after I tap 'Tap to start', or maybe just hears a few words, stops listening in the middle of a sentence, and then stops a few seconds afterwards, as though I had stopped speaking. It never used to work like this… I was able to use it very efficiently to compose writings on Google Docs. I would be able to pause from 5 to 10 seconds before continuing speaking.
I wonder if the speech buffer is filling up, and that's turning off the microphone, and then it stops a few seconds later because it's not hearing anything anymore.
This degradation happened about the same time on all my Android devices where I used Voice Typing. I noticed that I was asked to agree to permissions again when this problem started, and the user interface also changed, so I think that this happened because of a faulty upgrade.
I haven't yet found anyone else complaining about this happening recently. I also wonder if it's some app I installed that uses the microphone, but I can't find anything so far.
Any ideas…? Thanks. David
P.S. I tried Voice Typing in Google Docs on my Chromebook laptop, and the microphone stays on for about 23 seconds after I stop talking. This is how it should work on my Android devices, and pretty much how it used to work, although I'm not sure it stayed on quite that long. I wish there were a setting on it so it would stay on indefinitely until you turned it off.
P.P.S. I just replaced SwiftKey with Gboard on my Android tablet. Now Google Voice Typing works just fine. In fact, it appears to stay on for a very long time before turning off, just the way I would like it to act. Strange that a Google update has just effectively destroyed one of Microsoft's SwiftKeys most attractive features… Hopefully, it was just an unfortunate coincidence.
And too bad that Gboard is apparently not as good as SwiftKey. I guess I'll find out...

Meine Lieblings Tastatur. Jetzt fehlen nur noch RGB Farbwechsel Themes... Bitte 🙏 unbedingt updaten... Andere Entwickler haben tolle Tastaturen, aber nicht in dieser Swiftkey Qualität... Überall hakt es in den Apps... Keine Pfeiltasten, umständliche Bedienungen & Funktionen.... Wenn Ihr das noch überarbeiten würdet, würde es die SwiftKey Tastatur perfektionieren. Vielen Dank im Voraus. 👍 -
Addition of the Letters of the Punjabi, Pakistan (Shahmukhi)

Punjabi is the language of more than 130M people in the world, written in two scripts mainly.
Microsoft SwiftKeyboard also added both languages in the keyboard, which was a sense of relief for the people of both region and they got the app to communicate via texts. Since I am using the app, I figured that Punjabi, Pakistan (that is called Shahmukhi script) is just like the same as Urdu, Though both of the languages are not the same. there are missing letters in the Punjabi Keyboard in the SwiftKey Board. Please add those Punjabi Letters so that a Language can be used in the correct manner and communication can be made easier.
If you want me to send you those words, then I will be happy to do this work.

Why can't we make our own themes? I hate how everything in android is so restricted in respect to customization these days. Samsung is especially bad in this aspect. If it wasn't for the hexed theme app my galaxy s10 would be so boring. Please allow us to install custom themes. -

Backspace Entire Word
1 Stimme
0 Kommentare
When using swipe gestures to type, and it puts in a wrong word, I would like to be able to hit the backspace key once and have it delete the entire word, instead of pressing and holding backspace. It doesn't make sense that if a wrong word is entered I would only want to change the last letter. If I were not using swipe to type and entering each letter manually, it would make sense that backspace only removes the last letter, but swipe typing enters complete words, so backspace in this case should remove complete words. This should at least be an option in settings. -
Give us the ability to switch voice back to Google api for voice typing Beantwortet

The newest SwiftKey beta doesn't use the Google voice typing and there's no customization on it, it's too sensitive and stops voice input when I pause for a new sentence. Word recognition is worse than Google, it won't let me type curse words, and what's up with the tiny delete button in the corner. Y'all can do voice to text on your own if you want but let us choose between yours and Googles -

Put cursor on middle of word & touch a prediction to change it ends up leaving half the letters of the word you (Sweden changed to sudden becomes sudden dden).

For some stupid reason if you try to change the things you're typing via hitting a prediction, like I type thrfe but meant three and hit three in the prediction bar to replace thrfe, it will leave the word thrfe's letters (any letters to the right of the cursor) leftover. So "three" becomes "three rfe". Um what sense does it make to leave letters of a word I want to REPLACE, as in get rid of these word, why would I want any of its letters to remain when I'm trying to get rid of it? Clearly I want to replace the entire word! Why would I ever in 9 million years need to leave ANY letters of a word I'm REPLACING? The chances are 0.00001%! Thrfe becomes three e. I will never need that e, ever. I use swipe typing so that e will get in the way. Swipe typing means I don't type 1 letter at a time, the entire word I swipe gets inputted all at once so that e will never be able to be used. I hate how stupid a rule you guys made to not let us put the cursor in the middle or beginning of the word, it can only go at the very end. Otherwise you'll have a bunch of unnecessary letters stamped in the middle of your sentences. What the heck sense does that make?
Please let us pit the cursor anywhere on the word to be able to use the prediction bar and change the word. Do you have any idea how hard it is to move a cursor to an exact spot (end of word) on a tiny phone? It's so hard that I have to use a keyboard with arrows to move cursors bc touchscreen cursor movement slows you down running it back and firth until it finely lands right where you need it, like using a mouse on super high suited is impossible to land it somewhere precise. I don't care what your reason is, maybe you did this cursor-at-end-of-word system for another feature to work, but that other feature is not nearly as important as this. Your other feature is causing huge probs leaving mismatched letters randomly in sentences. Everyone knows you don't implement a system if it's going to cause malfunctioning somewhere else. This is a malfunction, you can't ask people to place it at the end & suddenly the malfunction stops, no. The cursor goes anywhere in the word to replace that word and that is how all prediction typing works, especially since it's hard to move cursors precisely on phones. Please fix this asap, thanks.

Hello SwiftKey team, the bless we got in android os it's the ability to customize, precisely using custom font specially Arabic fonts, but unfortunately there's penalty of apps limit that bless due to the lack of talent or the devs too busy to heard us. The feature I've been asking for since 4 years ago it's a slider to resize the letters sometimes when install custom font it's look to small on SwiftKey while the same font look perfect on gboard please heard me this time Sincerely -

Right to Left support for brackets Beantwortet

Hi,
Swiftkey on my previous phone worked well but since switching to a new phone, brackets show up in the opposite direction when I try to type in RTL languages.
Furthermore, a space is automatically added after one type of bracket and deleted before the next which makes the whole affair even more complicated and prevents comfortable use of these languages.Adding more languages without allowing them to be used properly is not beneficial.
An update restoring the original functionality would be appreciated.
Seriously considering a change of keyboard otherwise.
Thanks,
Inbar

I opened my texting app to find the keyboard had suddenly shifted the arrows from the bottom horizontal position to a vertical position in the middle of the keyboard. I disabled the arrows and now there is a huge gap vertically in the middle of the keyboard. Does anyone have any idea how to get my keyboard back to normal?

Voice typing problems with latest beta

There's a new beta to the SwiftKey keyboard and they really messed up the voice typing functionality. The second you take a breath the recording of your voice and therefore the dictation stops. So when you're writing something you're constantly hitting the dictation button. We need to be able to set the length of delay before dictation stops or override whatever is making things stop.
