Caps lock0 Stimmen 4 KommentareKeyboard is opening with caps lock enabled. I have to disable caps lock to write small letters
Chrome OS1 Stimme 2 Kommentare
I have been using Swiftkey on all my devices for many years and absolutely love it.
I bought an Asus Chromebook Flip about 18 months ago and was thrilled to see in the Chrome OS 79 update that custom keyboards were better supported and rushed to download and activate the Swiftkey app in the Play Store.
It didn't work very well, but I thought nevermind, it's early days, it will probably be fixed soon.
I have since updated to Chrome OS 81.0.4044.94 and have version 220.127.116.11 of Swiftkey installed, but the problems are worse. The keyboard appears and the predictions seem to function, but the text doesn't appear in the relevant field, and when I close the keyboard manually, only the first few letters that I tried to type appear, repeated several times.
For example : "This is a test" - using physical keyboard in laptop mode
For example : "This is" s ais testis:isis3" - using Switfkey in tablet mode (but no text appears until I close the keyboard)
Does anyone have similar experience or advice on how to fix this problem? Shall I just wait for a few more updates to see if compatability improves? Is it perhaps linked to my device? Does Swiftkey plan to better integrate the app with Chrome OS? I seem to remember there being a separate Swiftkey Tablet app when I first had a tablet about 8 years ago, but can't seem to find it any more, does it still exist and would this be better adapted?
Many thanks in advance for any help offered! :)
Text shortcuts4 Stimmen 3 Kommentare
I am a busy man, efficiency is key, but I've been using the default android keyboard since time immemorial. Stubborn to make its lackluster autocorrect system work for me. Swiftkey blows that out of the water BUT there's something seemingly easy to add but essential about the keyboard that's missing from Swiftkey and had saved me a ton of time in the Samsung keyboard. You guessed it, text shortcuts. They can help me write three letters that get replaced with a paragraph of text I'd pre-written and sent a thousand times. These are non negotiable to continue using your otherwise wonderful app and I'd be more than pleased to use it in the future should that feature be added
Thank you for your time

it is very annoying for me to always delete automatic spaces after punctuation points e.g. in email's addresses and also for writing e. g., or in other punctuation marks. it would smart to have a button to slide if i want or not this function

Problem with Sinhala language typing5 Stimmen 7 Kommentare
I'm using SwiftKey v18.104.22.168 on a Xiaomi Mi5s with MIUI 22.214.171.124 Global Stable on top of Android 6.0.1. I'm using it with the default font. I also had this issue with various phones and roms like Cyanogenmod, Touchwiz, etc.
This is a message (marked in blue) which I typed in Sinhala using Swiftkey
And this is the message which my friend got (iPhone 7 with iOS 10)
Some letters have errors in iOS. I saw this problem in other iOS versions as well. No matter what Swiftkey version, Android version or iOS version this problem remains with SInhala language.
When I typed the same message with Google Keyboard and Helakuru (another 3rd party keyboard specially for Sinhala typing) it was perfect.
I think the problem is with the typing method of Swiftkey. Both other keyboards use a different method. Hope you guys can fix this it would be great.
language switch by swiping spacebar is infuriating5 Stimmen 2 Kommentare
guys this setting is infuriating as I need fast long hold keys but not at the expense of my language on the keyboard constantly changing when I press space bar.
this is a keyboard destroying issue for me. I type fast and cannot have dual language functionality work properly when keyboard change occurs constantly simply by pressing spacebar.
it means I'm spending a big chunk of my time fighting to turn Japanese language off or typing English words with a Japanese keyboard slowly for my example.
Please please change the behavior of language changing as it's too annoying in its current form for me. if it isn't adjusted I have to change to another keyboard that doesn't have this annoying gesture built into the space bar.
[Feature Request] Support Norman layout2 Stimmen 1 Kommentar
Can the Norman layout please be supported along with Dvorak and Coleman? I believe it's a very nice layout that I moved to from QWERTY on my computer. I would like to have less confusion when typing between my computer and phone. Can the layout be added as an option in the future or at least the ability to make a custom layout?

Voice-to-Text poor functionality on Galaxy S200 Stimmen 4 Kommentare
Not sure if this is a SwiftKey problem or a Messages problem or a Google problem but here it goes.......
I just got this Galaxy S20. On my previous phone (Galaxy S9), when I hit the little "microphone" button on my SwiftKey keyboard to do voice to text when using the Messages App for texting, I would simply start talking and the words I was creating by voice would populate the text field in Messages. I could easily see the words as I spoke. After I was done taking, I'd just hit the send button and I was good to go.
With this S20, when I hit the little microphone button on SwiftKey, a window pops up. It is super annoying for a few reasons. One, that stupid grey box that says "Your audio Will be sent....." blocks the first several words that I am speaking, so I can't see that the text to words is translating correctly. Second, if I stop talking for around a second, the voice to text assumes I'm done speaking and closes, preventing me from adding more words if I hesitate to complete a thought. Third and worst of all, after I'm done talking the words I just spoke don't transfer to the text field in Messages. If I tap the empty text field in messages, SOMETIMES the words I just spoke suddenly appear in the text field- maybe 50% of the time. Supper annoying as half the time I have to repeat the whole voice-to-text process or revert to typing.
On my S9, when I hit the microphone button, I got a different pop-up that didn't block my words as they were spoken, and my words simply transferred directly to the text field in Messages, where I could clearly see them and simply hit "send" when done speaking.
When I use Facebook Messenger and do voice-to-text, I still get the pop up box with the annoying grey "Your audio will be sent......" blocking my words, but when I'm done speaking, at least my words transfer into the empty text box automatically and edit/send as required.
Anyone else having this problem? I'd post the pictures of the pop up windows but I don't see a way to do that with this forum.

[Feature Request] Turn off auto spaces130 Stimmen 154 Kommentare
How can I turn off the feature which adds a space after every predicted word I select, or punctuation mark? It should only insert a space if I then decide to add another word. Having to delete excess spaces at the ends of things, or sometimes after the "#" in a hash tag, is really getting old quickly.
Deactivate auto spacing after inserting a period ('.')11 Stimmen 11 Kommentare
typing web addresses into the address bar of the browser always inserts an auto space after hitting the dot key. Thus I always have to correct by using backspace and type again.
Same problem with other situations, where I do not automatically need an auto space after the dot, e. g., when typing mail addresses.
there a way ariund it and have a setting option, allowing to deactivate auto spaces after a dot?
Can't Make Keyboard as big as before`0 Stimmen 1 Kommentar
I've been using Swiftkey since it was first introduced. I've loved the keyboard the entire time. However, recently, after accidentally having my phone wipe itself because I forgot my PIN. Yeah, I'm a dumb dumb. After reinstalling everything and going through and setting up Swiftkey again, I can no longer make the keyboard as big as it was before. The largest setting is now only about a third of the screen when just minutes before the largest size took up half my screen. The keys were nice and big and I loved it.
Is this something that was grandfathered in because I had such early versions of the app? Is there something I am missing? The largest size is quite terrible now.
Voice button placement36 Stimmen 66 Kommentare
SwiftKey is the best. The only thing I wish I could change was the voice dictation button placement. On big phones it is hard to get to. Give me the option to place on right side if screen (like gboard).

Don't add a space after a dot/period20 Stimmen 6 Kommentare
Please deactivate automatic spacing after typing a dot, or add an option to NOT insert a space (" ") after typing a dot/period ("."). It is very annoying, as the dot is a common character in any text field or text area (think input fields and text editors, not just web addresses, code editors and alike).
Although this issue has been reported several times, there's still no reaction from SwiftKey/Microsoft for SEVERAL YEARS. Maybe the issue is not tracked anymore as it is associated with a "permanently deleted user".
Automatic dark mode and themes with no key borders2 Stimmen 1 KommentarWith Android 10 and now 11, the we have had automatic dark mode switch off for apps. When do you plan to add auto dark mode for SwiftKey? The ideal would be to allow is to choose the light and dark theme and switch between them automatically. Please also add the option to get rid of key borders in the default theme.
Escritura-1 Stimmen 1 Kommentar

Themes synced with the Android dark mode2 Stimmen 1 KommentarThe Android 10 have been released since a year and until now the SwiftKey (beta or not) doesn't have a real support to the dark mode. The Gboard and Samsung board, for example, adapts their colours with the system toggle. If the system is write, the keyboard is write, and if the system is dark, the keyboard also is dark. It's very good because I think the main differential of the dark mode is the automatic transmission (at night and in the day). I really hope the SwiftKey bring the dark mode synced with the system soon.

Symbols automatically enter a space?4 Stimmen 2 KommentareEvery time I try to enter symbols after using Flow to create a word, the symbol always automatically puts a space in between it and the word I entered before it with the Flow. For example, when I make typo errors, I like to retext the word (correctly spelled) and put an asterisk directly after it. For example, I try to say "Family*" but when I enter the word "Family" using Flow, and I type an asterisk, it automatically puts a space between the two entrees and types "Family *". This happens to EVERY symbol (asterisks, colons, semi-colons, and more) except quotation marks ("). No matter how I enter it, it will add in a space. It doesn't matter if I long press a letter to enter the symbol or switch to the symbol keyboard to manually enter it - it will always enter a space, and then the symbol. This always only happens after I enter a word with the Flow system (swiping to letters to create a word). It's an extremely tedious and messy mechanic, as I tend to enter many symbols, and yet the keyboard automatically messes up the sentence with an extra space. The only symbol this tends to be useful for is dashes (-) as many times it can be nice to have spaces around the dashes in between words. Thanks for any feedback or any fix!
Dashes, (semi-)colons and associated spaces1 Stimme 2 Kommentare
Three characters that have troublesome auto space insertions are dash, colon, and semicolon. All of these characters, when used correctly in a sentence, should not have spaces before them, but SwiftKey always adds one. I would love to see a setting that allows me to choose either the current functionality or a new setting to not add the leading space.
Android: SwiftKey typing, no output1 Stimme 4 Kommentare
I am getting frequent (multiple times per day) where I am typing on swiftkey and I see the prediction forming, but no output in the actual text field I was typing in. Switching to any other keyboard and changing back (without typing anything in the other keyboard) restores functionality, but it's pretty annoying and it's getting more frequent.
