I have an LG G7 and I keep having this problem. The keyboard keeps defaulting to a much smaller size than my preference. While I'm actively working in an app it will stay the same but as soon as I close it an open something else the keyboard is immediately back to being smaller. On a few apps I keyboard seems to be remaining the same as what I set it but each time I go back into the keyboard settings it is reset to medium.

Same as Rebecca, LG G7. Keyboard keep changing to small size. My Xperia XZ Premium didn't have this problem. Non few of my other order phones that all use SwiftKey. I love the keyboard but this problem is very annoying please fix it soon

Same problems after update of nokia 8 sirocco to android pie. Keyboard in the smallest setting is too large for me to be usable. I will have to give up swiftkey if this is not fixed.

Same problem on LG V20 running 8.0. Tried completely flushing cache, deleted all saved data, reinstalled app - no difference. Still randomly goes to smallest size setting. I'm a very long time user (8 years) - please fix this bug!

I don't get the sense that this once-great app is supported since MS took it over. I uninstalled and switched to TouchPal. Tough to leave something I've relied on for years.

I've also been a long time user. I have an LG Stylo 4+. Also at times the rows along the top sometimes disappear and it's very difficult to get them back. Cannot even adjust the keyboard size without that row.

This is awful... Keeps changing to the smallest keypad and I cannot use it. LG G7. Will be deleting this app until it's fixed. Unusable.

My Moto 5X did a security reboot today and I'm left with a huge oversized Keyboard, on the Smallest setting? It covers 66% of the screen!

My moto X4 also had an update, and the same thing happened. HUGE keyboard. It's been several days... It's horrible, and I have downloaded a couple of other keyboards, but want to use this one..... If I had known this would happen to my keyboard, I would have waited to download the security update.

Same for me with Moto X4 after security update. My Keyboard  is stuck in large or largest. Very inconvenient.

Same as Eccohen49. My Moto x4 updated today and the keyboard is unusable even on the smallest size if I want to keep my arrow keys (and I need them to use ssh).

Perhaps all of us could consider going to SwiftKey's FB page and adding a comment about this might help spur some action. But it doesn't work to click on Contact Us bc that just leads you back to their support forum to search for answers. So maybe post directly to FB...

Same... Need the largest keyboard and it keeps defaulting to medium. Also saves too many incorrect words. Can you make a way to access our learned words dictionary so we can manually delete incorrect words?

+1 on the moto X4 (Android One version) bandwagon. Horribly oversized Swiftkey keyboard since the last update -- the smallest size now takes half the screen, the biggest... close to 75%.

Updated a couple days ago, to get the security patch level from January 1, 2019.
    Android 9, version PPWS29.69-26-4
The release notes from Motorola are bloody useless, unless the Switftkey issue comes from those "security fixes".

[Update Feb 11: uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing in this case]

Hello Everyone, I have been using SwiftKey for the past few years but over the past week the keyboard will NOT go off the screen after typing a search word /phrase in Google Chrome or Amazon etc. I am using a Levono TB-X304F tablet with Android 8.1.  In replies and short video on your help site it says to press the "BACK KEY <"

But the key shown on the short video about minimising the keyboard is the DOWN KEY (as in an upside down triangle) that you DON'T have a logo for like you have <>^.

I don't always get the down key in on the bottom bar of my tablet (but it's there now)  I usually just get the back arrow < but that closes the page your working on which is very annoying an unhelpful.

Hope You Can Help. THANKS, TAKE CARE YOU AND YOURS.

    KEVIN

For Linda Lukins... Watch this for a while and see if it reverts back. That's what happened to me a few weeks ago. Keep us posted!

LL - don't get false hope... SS - mine also reverted back to tiny keyboards.

This is still an ongoing issue that the team is busily working on. The good news is we have an internal test version that will allow you to resize the keyboard just how you want it. As soon as we're done with bug-testing we will release to the public.

Hopefully the wait shouldn't be too long now.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards,
    Matt

Update:  The keyboard became very small a little while ago.  I set the keyboard and my device back to the original settings and now the keyboard is the correct size again!  Thanks!

We have 2 Moto X4s (1 silver, 1 black). This one (the black one) updated to the latest system update 12 hours ago and now the keyboard is huge on the Smallest setting. It takes up about 2/3 of the screen. The only way to get it back to normal size (same size as the silver X4) is to change the device's screen resolution to the smallest setting (the keyboard size is also still set to Smallest). Unfortunately, that also makes all text that's not on the keyboard smaller. The other phone also has the latest system update, but has no keyboard size issues. It's set to Medium.

Just got an update on my Moto G6 plus and the keyboard became huuuge even in the smallest size. Takes half of the screen and almost unusable in practice.

To SwiftKey... Pls don't just focus on resizing issues. That's huge but so is the out of nowhere dropping of the numbers row and the arbitrary losing of our settings. And once the numbers row disappears the settings cannot be corrected.

I'm in huge need of personalized keyboard resizing. I just got Galaxy S10 Plus, and I can't get a keyboard size that works for me. Custom size and placement would help a lot. I hope you release that update soon. I would like a keyboard that isn't as wide, but sits more centered, rather than all the way right or all the way left. The curved edges of the Galaxy make it hard to use the buttons on those edges, but your condensed setting is too narrow.

Forced to change my review to 2 stars from 5 stars since I moved to my new S10. The size of the keyboard keeps on randomly changing all the time. Please fix this soon, else will be forced to change my default keyboard to Gboard.
