[Main Thread] Samsung S8/S8+ keyboard size really large
CompletedUsing the new s8+, and even with the keyboard size set to the smallest, it's still really large.
Mostly happens with the highest resolution on the phone, 2960x1440.

I have this exact problem. The sizing seems messed up only on the highest resolution setting.
Hi same for me, this happen only in high resolution, I hope the devs will fix this soon.
I thought this was an issue with the resolution switching feature (which is really handy, btw) but it seems to be the case in the biggest resolution regardless of how you got there. I hope an update will come soon to display the keyboard correctly at high res.
Anyone know if this happens on the LG G6 that has a similarly strange resolution?
Hello everyone,
We're sorry to hear this happens. As S8 is a brand new device and we don't have early access, there could be some new compatibility issues that we didn't know before.
I'll contact with the mod team to get more information.
Thanks for reporting this issue.

Fairly certain I had a similar experience with the Note 7, when switching to its higher resolution. Eventually it all got worked out in a update.
Yeah, I remembered we had the fix once.
Just for an update, this issue is known by mod team.
Excellent! Just throwing my hat in the ring too, I'd like to use the highest resolution but Swiftkey no es bueno with that.
I love the new size, it's exactly what I hoped for on my new S8 . I had it for awile then it disappeared. I spent hours trying to get that extra large size back but I can't seem to get it back.. I'll pay to have that extra large size back or just tell me what I need to do to find it. I love SwiftKey but keyboard sizes are just to small. Thanks
Same problem here. Still using 1080p+ because of this issue. But today I realized that every keyboard seem to have that problem - even Samsungs own keyboard is as big as SwiftKey on smallest size setting. Very strange indeed, but could be a Samsung software issue after all.
@Steven: Try to set your S8 back to full resolution.
Any update to this topic??
Yes, Same issue had me using at 1080p because I'm not giving up Swiftkey.
Any ETA on an update mod?
Just checking in on this issue. I'm very long SwiftKey user and recently switched to s8+ yesterday. Please give us a timing on the fix...
Fixed on latest beta! Excellent work.
Hi everyone,
Yes, I am told the issue is fixed in latest beta 6.6.0.19. It's rolling out today.
However it's not in the changelog.
Anything happens, let us know.
Thank you for your patience! Happy typing!

Just reinstalled app on my S8+ with latest update and there is no change at all. Looking for a different key board but they all suck and with this new phone, Swiftkey is no longer usable without turning down resolution.
@Rik, which version is the "latest update" on your side? Please do mention the version # while posting about a problem.
Thank you
6.6.0.19 was there more than one today?
They fixed it!!
I justed reinstalled Beta 6.6.0.19 and it finally works on full res!
@David, thank you for letting us know!
@Rik, I'm not sure which version you got, that's why I asked. But it should be fixed in 6.6.0.19, and other users (more than 3) just confirmed that.
I'm having exactly the same issue.
I updated (automatically, an hour ago) to 6.6.0.22 and the keyboard takes up half the screen in portrait, all of it in landscape.
I've gone into the settings and tried to turn it down to the smallest size but it's still twice as big as it was this morning.
Wileyfox Swift 2X, Android 7.1.1, 1080x1776 resolution.
@Alpert, sorry to hijack this thread, but two of my phones just upgraded to version 6.6.0.22 and the keyboard size became huge.
I need to set size to the smallest possible and it is still bigger than the size on version 6.6.0.20 with the middle size selected on the options.
Have also tried on Beta 6.6.1.15 and same symptoms.
The phones are ZUK Z1's with 1080p screen resolution.
One of them is running Stock ROM based on Lollipop and the other is running Custom ROM, Lineage OS, based on Nougat.
@all
It's weird, looks like the 6.6.0.19 version or + fixed the problem for some but not for all, meanwhile made some devices running worse?
I'll reach the team to get more information.

Used Swiftkey for years, but sadly switched to GBoard this morning as I can't live with a keyboard taking up 70% of the screen. Actually, Gboard is very good so I'm not too distressed.
Ik have the same problem with my Wileyfox Swift 2X, Android 7.1.1. Even with the smallest setting, it is still huge and I also had to make the switch to Google`s GBoard, due to this. I hope it gets fixed soon
Same problem here. Even on the smallest size SK takes up ~70% of the screen. Wileyfox Swift 2x running 7.1.1 and SwiftKey 6.6.0.22.
Been using Swiftkey since 2010 and my HTC Desire but had to switch back to Google keyboard for now!
Same problem without wilefox 2x. Though i alsof have iTunes without gboard.however i foundation that there is a property in gboard which is called 'height of keyboard' setting low made my gboard smaller again. But SwiftKey even larger tot almost 3/4 of screen
SwiftKey Beta 6.6.2.22 version just made keyboard absolutely huge again here in my Note 5 (7.0 Nougat) after a period of normality.
I'm really about to give up. It's impossible to type normally and fast.
Just auto-updated to 6.6.1.20 on the market and it seems to be fixed.
Awesome work, many thanks.
You gotta be kidding me!!!
Why the hack did you roll back the fix??
Please send me previous beta Version via email. I cannot use my freakin phone like that!!
The problem was fixed in the previous update, but today I got a new update and it's broken again .... ( I'm using only normal version not the beta )
