English/Bengali layout issue
SwiftKey has recently introduced an en/bn layout where one can type in english keyboard to write both English and Bengali. It's quite good.
In Bengali, we use 'dari' (।) in place of a period. But that layout has no '।' symbol for easy access. So, whenever I finish writing a sentence in Bengali, I have to switch to the general বাংলা (Bengali) layout, add '।', and then again switch back to en/bn layout. This is really convoluted. My suggestion is to add '।' as a secondary option in the ',' key on the left of space bar.
In any case, please do something about it.
I'm using SwiftKey Beta.
Thank you.
Yes. It's a big issue. Please fix it. And how to add a word which is not in prediction list? like makorsa (মাকড়সা)?
Thanks SwiftKey for your great effort.
Ami bengali language choose korte chai.
Some issues need to be taken care of.
1. The first is the absence of the dari (।), the period for Bengali sentences. It's an absolute essential. You can't get a Bengali keyboard out without this punctuation mark there in the first place. It's like making a nice looking car without the brakes.
2. The second issue is the absence of the ability in the keyboard to write a complex word. It seems like users are being forced here to write whatever options the prediction engine chooses for you. That's pretty bad. Users should be able to write their own words freely even if the word is not predicted by the keyboard.
3. Also please make the clipboard easily accessible with one keystroke so that all the complex words saved there can be easily put into texts including the dari or period. It can work as a workaround for the time being for case no 2 I mentioned above. Right now a lot of keystrokes are needed to access the clipboard.
4. Please make the right key to the spacebar customisable. Currently all the punctuations live there. Also please allow it to access the clipboard. This is especially helpful for complex languages like Bengali. Users can copy any missing letters in the clipboard and then access them through the punctuation key for easy workarounds.
Thank you.
First of all, the "Dari" (। ) is available in SwiftKey Bengali Layout, since the version I used for first time, 2 years ago.
It is with the Bengali 1 (১) key on Shift position...
.
And SwiftKey Bengali keyboard can type any complex Bengali word with any type of conjunction. You need to type a "Hasanta" ( ্ ), after a letter to join the next letter to it. Like,
ক ্ ষ = ক্ষ ...,... And others too like this.
If you need just "Hasanta" ( ্ ) add ZWNJ after "Hasanta"... The next letter won't be joined...

Thanks...
Clipboard is currently accessible with one tap.
Just tap the Three line menu button at top left corner of the Keyboard (very left corner of the prediction bar)
Guys does anyone know how to use jofola and rofola. Like 'ব্যয়' and 'প্রশ্ন'?
There is absence of য়, ড় in the latest update..
Yes As Paramita mentioned, "absence of য়, ড় " are an issue with me too.
Reza hossain, i gave feedback to SwiftKey that য়,ড়, ঢ় are missing, they replied me with the tricks.
To get the য়, just tap on য and then tap on the 'ণঙঞ'key and you will get the য়.
You will get ড় and ঢ় using same trick...
Thanks Paramita Paul for the trick! :))
I'm using SwiftKey on my IPhone 5s.
I'm using the most updated version. I tried to download Bangla Language for the app. All the languages are there except Bangla.
Have you guys decided to discontinue the Bangla support in this app? Since so many people are complaining and giving their valuable feedback!
