Not being able to use swipe back from left/right gesture anymore on Oneplus 6T

One of the recent updates has broken the back swipe from left or right of the screen with the keyboard out. Now it only works outside (above) of the keyboard and not along the keyboard area anymore. It seems to be a problem with all oneplus devices. See this thread I posted on reddit.
