Hi Yaqz101, sorry for the trouble. Could you please help us with your SwiftKey app version?

Could you please let us know if the issue is happening on any particular apps or everywhere? If it is happening on only one app. Please help us with the app name and version number? Thank you!

Is this still possible to get support in this post or should I start a new one? I posted this issue two years ago and never received a response. Two months ago, someone else commented that the issue is still happening and they did get a response, but never followed up. Now the person who responded's account has been deleted.

I can provide additional details. The issue is relatively rare, but just happened to me again in the last 24 hours. In certain Android apps, Swiftkey can lose it's themed keyboard UI and display a blinding white, full-screen UI which is quite shocking when using dark mode at night.

I was able to duplicate this behavior in the Joey reddit app when editing a comment and in Bitwarden app while trying to enter login info on a website using Samsung Internet and/or Edge Android mobile browsers on my Galaxy Tab S6. Let me know if you need any more details.

    • O/S: Android 11, OneUI 3.1
    • Launcher: Microsoft Launcher 6.220304.0.1041731
    • Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
    • Swiftkey Beta ver 8.10.11.3
    • Bitwarden ver 2.17.0
    • Joey ver 2.0.5.4
    • Samsung Internet: ver. 16.2.1.56
    • Microsoft Edge ver 100.0.1185.29

As requested, here are some screenshots. In this example I'm editing a comment in the Joey reddit app on Android. Swiftkey fails to maintain the dark theme. The is repeatable.  I also want to reiterate that the problem occurs in other apps (not only Joey). Another example is when manually entering a login information in a password field in a browser such Samsung Internet.

    1. Screenshot-1: Editing a comment using Samsung Keyboard
    2. Screenshot-2: Showing keyboard selection dialog just before switching to Swiftkey Beta.
    3. Screenshot-3: This is what the edit dialog looks like after switching to Swiftkey Beta.

Here's another example of the issue to show it's not just in one app. This example is renaming a file in OneDrive. My tablet is also in Light Mode in this example. But when it’s in night mode, SwiftKey would still have this blinding white background.

    1. Switching to Samsung keyboard
    2. Notice the small rename text box and OneNote file list visible in the upper half of the screen.
    3. Switching to SwiftKey Beta
    4. SwiftKey expands to full screen and obscures everything else. Aside from this text box having a white background even when everything else is in dark mode, this full-screen behavior can be problematic in cases where it's helpful to retain visibility of what's behind the text box while typing.
