Why doesn't SwiftKey support the new Android 11 Auto-fill APi for passwords?! It's been almost 1 year since Google announced the feature. Gboard supports it.
Thank you for your reply, @.... Samsung Keyboard also already supports it. SwiftKey is falling behind. Here is an example of it working on Samsung Keyboard on my s20:
@deniz so do you mean we should all submit a feature request for this? Seems a bit pointless when there's already a thread here and lots of other keyboards support it, but OK will do.
OK, thanks @... - I've now submitted a request (your website wasn't letting me do it on the mobile website but worked on desktop). Really hope you'll support this given it's a core part of Android 11 functionality and so many other keyboards/password managers are supporting it. https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/text/ime-autofill
Agree, Damien S - would be great to have an update @.... If this isn't going to happen then would be good to know. I'm getting quite frustrated with this remaining unaddressed and may have to consider moving to Gboard, which would be a shame after years of using Swiftkey.
Hi Damien S, Alan Robertson at this time I don't have an update. While we can't action every individual idea, customer feedback helps us to guide the decisions we make around your keyboard.
OK thanks for the reply, @... - it's just a shame in that it's not some weird and wonderful feature we're asking for but an Android 11 API that is well document and to be frank does not seem massively onerous to implement - https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/text/ime-autofill. Have your coders actually been asked to look into this?
Hi, I understand that every individual idea can make a lot of work. But maybe an update, by one big company that make one of the best keyboard app, on the use of one API mainly created for keyboards could be a great idea ;)
Hello there, please make this feature a reality. Maybe on a beta first? I don't know. I just know I tried it on Gboard and it's really amazing. Don't make me change keyboard please.
Thank you.
Hi and thanks a lot for this great addition to one of the best Android keyboard.
I'm using the beta and haven't been able to see the inline autofill, it works with gboard and Bitwarden so the problem is not with my system. Is there a way to force it? I can't find anything in the settings.
Hi everyone, thank you very much for your feedback.
We have released Inline autofill suggestion on Android 11 to SwiftKey Beta! Please try it out and give us your feedback.
Thank you for your support.
