Random letter deletion when fast typing.
AnsweredBasically it is what it is in the title when I type fast which is usually the case it randomly deletes some letters usually the first letters of a word and then it changes everything as it using a whole different standpoint to match a predicted or spell corrected word. For example I start typing memories and after "e" letter when I touch "m" key again it deletes the first "em" part and just type mories and it spell correct to Morris. Super weird. It is on a galaxy s21 ultra 512 exynos btw. I just reset the phone for a lot other issues as well hoping it will fix this one as well but no. Came back.
Any idea?
Thanks
Andy
Hi, Sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with SwiftKey. Can you please help us with your SwiftKey app version number and your device android OS version?
Also, could you please let us know if it is happening on any specific application or on all the apps?
Swiftkey version: 7.8.8.6
Hi. Thank you for the constructive feedback, sorry for the trouble. We will surely pass your feedback onto our concerned team. While we are looking into this, we also request you to try recording a video of the issue happening and send it over to us.
You can download this free app called AZ screen recorder. There is a setting you can turn on that shows "screen presses" this helps us know where the touches are happening on the screen. This is helpful for us when it comes to investigating.
I will definitely try the screen recorder app. For additional info I did some research both online and on my phone. I tried out different keyboards such as g board and anysoft keyboard and each and every one has this problem to random deleting letters even sometimes words on some different extent. As I did some online research I found that they say there is some connection between auto correction and this issue so when they turn auto correction off it is gone. Maybe you can also try and check what exactly could be the connection between auto correction and "auto" deleting random letters or words. I will try the Az recorder and get back to you.
Hi Such Is Life, thank you for your effort. We will investigate this further.
