I switched from Gboard for two reasons:
1. I'm a Microsoft person.
2. Gboard's lag was killing me.
However, you guy seriously need to improve your Chinese keyboard. Mainly because it's hard to type actual names since I don't remember every single character.

Synchronisation problem.4 votes 3 commentsHi Microsoft! I understand that you are a giant tech company and you want to buy any other company or product that seems to be interesting. But please when you do that, try at least to keep the same quality level as we experienced with SwiftKey company! Thousands of words are not synchronized and I need to write again and again! And there is no support to fix this issue! I hope you'll react to this post!
Disable fullscreen keyboard/centre fullscreen keyboard in landscape6 votes 9 comments
1. On Android it seems to force a fullscreen keyboard in apps such as Whatsapp (making typing replies impossible) but not in others (such as Chrome) where context is less important.
How do you fix this bug?
2. On fullscreen keyboard in landscape mode, the keyboard won't stay where you want it and instead will only go to the far left or far right.
This only occurs in landscape and fullscreen.
Again, how can I disable this and have it where I have specified?
can't enlarge keyboard0 votes 1 commentafter updating to Android 12, keyboard can't be resized to the biggest size. Now the biggest size is small compared to how it looked on android 11. I face this problem after updating from one android version to another even in my old phone.
Not replying to feedback either here or direct email or Google Play Store0 votes 0 comments
I have to say I am bitterly disappointed with the service in general you ask us to feedback on the beta version and the new features and then it's taking weeks to absolutely never getting a reply. You have just released the sync feature and I can't believe how lacklustre the response is to problems and issues. Perhaps it's time Mr microsoft sold you off. Two weeks later and they no reply!!!
This was posted on the Google Play Store 14/02/2022 and I am still waiting for the reply from my email regarding the state of the syncing issues since last month and it's absolutely atrocious and I'm certain that the new staff are nowhere near as diligent as the previous people I have communicated with. Weeks go by and they don't respond after saying try XGZ or we will investigate and get back to you shortly how many emails does it take before we get a sorry which frankly is a way to late after numerous emails and what does it take to drop us an email with a status update I can understand that the beta is still in testing but it you feedback and your led to believe that someone is going to get back regardless of the answer and then doesn't and the sorry is followed by its been a busy week that should be a busy two weeks or so and a bit. I am definitely getting fed up with SwiftKey now and not that long ago I was praising you. Why oh why oh why.
You do want to keep your subscribers in the loop or you don't and after being faithful to you for the last four years I am beginning to wonder why

Swiping consistently gets wrong which language I'm trying to use0 votes 3 comments
I'm always switching between Dutch and English depending on who I'm talking to. I want to use swipe but it frequently gives me English words in my Dutch sentences and Dutch words in my English sentences. I spend a lot of time correcting because the swipe never knows which language I'm trying to use.
1. Please separate Dutch and English keyboards.
2. Please make it so the swipe method only outputs a single language at a time (corresponding to whichever keyboard that's in use)

New clip does not show in keyboard suggestion if same text already exist in clipboard history0 votes 1 comment
When you copy a text from somewhere, the copied text appear as a suggestion in the keboard. This is very nice and convenient. But if the text you just copied already exist in the clipboard history, it does not show on the keyboard, and you have to go into the clipboard history to find the text you are interrested in.
It would be much better if you copy a text, this text will show on the keyboard even if it does not cause a new endtry in the clipboard history (preferably also that the newly copied text is moved to top in the history).

Feature request : Swipe the delete key to range select and delete.2 votes 4 commentsI would love to see a similar implementation similar to G board. Where as a user touches the delete key and begins swiping backwards and the words get highlighted have you swipe from right to left and when you let go of the delete key the words get deleted.

Unanswered numbers only keypad request0 votes 1 comment
So, I see that some years ago this questions has been asked but not answered properly, and that happened more than once. I would like to have a numbers only keypad, and I don't seem to find and option for that with swiftkeys. Depending on where I'm typing (which app I'm using), I get numbers only or I get numbers and other keys. I would like the number keypad to look like this, but I only get that with one app.
The keyboard disappears.0 votes 1 comment
Hi. I have a problem with SwiftKey installed on both my Samsung A52 and my tablet, Samsung.
When I start to print text, the first letter makes the keyboard shut down.
When I'm trying it for the second time, it works.
Could this be a bug in the system?
Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Word prediction only in selected language7 votes 7 comments
Is there a way to disable the multi language prediction? I have german and english installed and it's totally annoying that the word prediction uses both languages at the same time. This causes many false predicted words.
I only want to have predictions in the current active language. Since it is so easy to switch between the languages by swiping the space bar I don't need any pseudo intelligent language detection.
IPA symbols19 votes 10 comments
I wish I have the opportunity to use the symbols of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and the symbols that indicate the "quantity" in Latin words (long and short), on all the vowels. I'm a student of linguistics and I think it could help a lot of people.

Alas, poor bullet points... I knew thee well.0 votes 1 commentEver since I've switched to a Huawei Y6 2018, I've been making use of Swift Keyboard as it's the pre-installed (default) keyboard. I was a Google Keyboard user for some time; however, I've experienced perfornance issues on this device, so I've had to adjust to using Swift Keyboard and it hasn't been too bad. One feature of Google Keyboard I enjoyed is the bullet points symbols I can enter when typing out such lists, which I can't seem to find on Swift Keyboard despite my best efforts. Can anyone point me to where I can find or enter the bullet points directly from the keyboard? Thanks in advance!

Auto correct undo4 votes 3 comments
I like auto correct, but sometimes what I type is what I want. It gets almost impossible to enter what I really want without going through a lot of hassle and taking time. If I turn off auto correct, then I loose its advantages. How do I quickly undo the auto correct that was just inserted and keep typing? Need a button to undo last auto correct.
Please include your own system-wide spell-checker (red underline) with the app.3 votes 3 comments
First, I will clarify some things for those who may not know and for those who might assume that I am confusing spell-checker with keyboard input prediction.
Then I will:
Bring back a problem that has been called for attention many times and explain why it happens;
Explain why I think it matters and why previous suggested workarounds are sub-optimal;
Discuss Google’s (Gboard) chosen workaround;
Give my suggestion to fix the problem.
Input prediction (IP) (Auto-complete and auto-correction) is a feature whose main purpose in software keyboards is to allow the user to type faster. The keyboard suggests words before you type them entirely and correct words where there are typos. By auto-correcting, the keyboard allows the user to type without painstaking care and precision, which allows for faster typing.
Spell-checking (SC) is (usually) a feature of word processors or system-wide input fields (MS Word, Android, and Google Chrome for desktop, each has its own spell-checker independent from software keyboards or any input method). Its main purpose is to alert and correct the user about the orthography of a given language.
People who use simultaneous multi-language input prediction – a feature present on SwiftKey (and Gboard also) – start seeing a red underling in all words of one of the languages.
The reason is that, while SwiftKey’s input prediction does have support for multiple languages simultaneously, the android’s system-wide spell-checker active in the user’s phone (usually AOSP’s or Google’s spell-checker) does not have.
Here it has been suggested that the user should disable the spell checker:
Notably, this is also the approach used by Gboard (more on that latter), but I think this is far from the ideal because it forces the user to resort to input prediction (IP) as a form of spell-checking (SC). This is a problem because, as I said in the beginning, input-prediction is a feature focused on fast typing (as it should be) and not on orthography. To illustrate, imagine how a user uses IP as SC:
The user types the word and hopes that the keyboard will correct it automatically if it’s wrong. Except that, even when typing correctly, sometimes the first prediction (the middle one in SwiftKey) is not the desired one. And other times the prediction dictionary doesn’t have the desired word. For those reasons, the exact typed word is always shown as an option, typos and all (as it should be), and the keyboard memorizes anything the user decides to input (as it should be) either by typing space and accepting the middle prediction, or by selecting the desired word in the list.
The result is that the IP learns a lot of slangs, acronyms and jargon (as is should be), but also learns misspelled words. And the user has no way of knowing if the thing he/her has typed didn’t appear as the first (middle) prediction because it was wrong or because the neural network crystal ball simply got it wrong or because the word doesn’t exist in the IP dictionary. Also, sometimes the misspelling is so different from the intended word that the latter doesn’t appear in the prediction list, and sometimes the misspelling is even presented as the first (middle) prediction.
The clear solution to that in my opinion is to have a separate mechanism for checking orthography, the spell-checker, which has to support simultaneously multi-language input as well (chrome desktop browser has that). This is a second independent layer that runs after input prediction, and is not affected by the IP dictionary. And when the user decides to tap a word and include it in the SC dictionary it is a conscious deliberate decision.
How does Gboard deal with that
Here it has been said that SwiftKey cannot control the spellchecker, and that Gboard doesn’t break in the same way because it has “advanced system privileges that SwiftKey cannot access”. I’m not an android programmer, but from the tests I have done, it seems to me that Gboard has the exact same level of system access that SwiftKey has with respect to spell-checking:
If my selected system-wide spell-checker is the AOSP one, it behaves in the exact same way with Gboard as it does with SwiftKey. The thing that Gboard does different is that, along with the keyboard, the app installs a spell-checking service as well. I’m using LineageOS, which doesn’t come with Gboard or Google’s spell-checker, only the AOSP ones. And when I install Gboard, Google’s SC appears as an option.
Now, Google’s solution is far from the best in my opinion. For what I tested, the ‘Google spell-checker’ (installed by Gboard) simply disables itself if it detects that Gboard is being used and uses only the system’s language when it detects other 3rd party keyboards (exactly like the AOSP one). And I already explained my problems with both solutions.
Simply put together a simple spell-checker with simultaneous multi-language support and ship it within the SwiftKey app. I think this would be simple to do, just copy the default dictionaries of the SwiftKey IP as a starting point, but it would not have to deal with predictions and other complex features that a software keyboard has to deal with. Again, copy the dictionaries, any word learned by the IP should not be automatically learned by the SC.
The simplest implementation would be to have one hash table for each language. If the user decides to use two languages simultaneously, a new empty language-agnostic hash table is created. That way, when the user includes a new word to de dictionary, it is included in the language-agnostic one to avoid guessing the language of the word. Then, spell-checking a word is simply to query the word on 3 hash tables.
Why am I suggesting this to you?
Here it has been said that SC “was never a feature of SwiftKey itself”, and that it’s an Android problem.
Indeed, if only AOSP’s SC did support multiple languages simultaneously, this problem would be solved. But I use and prefer SwiftKey; AOSP’s keyboard still doesn’t have support for simultaneous multi-language input, suggesting that this support is also not in the horizon for AOSP spell-checker; and it’s more probable that Google’s engineers will fix this only in Google’s SC, in a way that works exclusively with Gboard (as it’s the case with the ‘auto-disable SC’ workaround).
And ultimately this is a problem that (to me at least) seems extremely simple to solve and is hurting your product.
Here are some treads complaining of SC-related problems that, while not necessarily being all related to multi-language support, could benefit from a simple Spell Checker shipped inside the SwiftKey app.
I’m conscious that I might be wrong about a number of things: There could be another workaround that solves the problem in a satisfactory way; There could be a barrier to install system-wide spell-checkers on android; Maybe spell-checking is harder than I think, even without grammar-checking or prediction; etc.
In that case it would be nice if someone could explain the situation in a more in-depth way.
Please create dual layout for folding phones4 votes 1 comment
I see several people complaining about lack of dual layouts for folding phones. Most of us use split keyboard for. Inner wider screen and regular for outer screens... We have to use regular Samsung keyboard since it recognizes the screen is open and changes keyboard layout.
Please have a feature where SwiftKey recognizes the screen is open and automatically changes to a second Layout!

GIF filters/restrictions0 votes 0 commentsI appreciate that SwiftKey automatically restricts the kinds of GIFs that show up. Just like Bing images and videos automatically being set to moderate. But I would like access to unrestricted GIFs as an option. "set to unfiltered". Love the product, thank you!
Punctuation and spaces6 votes 4 comments
This is driving me crazy. I get spaces before, but not after, semicolons, colons, etc. But I get spaces after opening parenthesis and brackets. And spaces where there should be nine around apostrophes and quotation marks.
Consider these un-corrected lines:
Well go then ;don't come back.
Trey 'a coat
--(should have been "Trey's coat". Even tap-typing it didn't work the first time).
Why hasn't this been fixed yet? I love SwiftKey, but this is enough to drive me away.

the keyboard went missing ... finally got it back0 votes 0 comments
I'm using a Samsung S21 Ultra (Android 12, One UI 4.0) and as I was signing into a new app account the screen locked and the keyboard vanished.
I rebooted the phone, no change. I'm also now receiving a message that Google stopped working. After a little thinking, I went to Settings / Apps / Google and pressed on Force Stop.
That brought back the keyboard, which is a step forward, but it was the Samsung keyboard.
Long story short, it would seem there was a very recent update to the MS SwiftKey Beta that I'm guessing installed at the same time I was attempting to register a new app. (This was a legitimate app, the IMDb app.)
For good measure, I uninstalled SwiftKey Beta and reinstalled it.
Everything seems to be in order but for 15 minutes I was a little nervous. :)

SwiftKey is the best. The only thing I wish I could change was the voice dictation button placement. On big phones it is hard to get to. Give me the option to place on right side if screen (like gboard).
