We recently brought Cursor Control to your Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard for Android. This much-requested feature had previously only ever been available on iOS.
If you haven't tried it out you can do so by tapping & holding your spacebar to move the cursor.
If you use multiple languages, cursor control will need to be turned on first; this setting can be found in your ‘Typing’ menu.
Make yourself heard!
We'd love to know what you think. This is YOUR opportunity to help us shape the future of Cursor Control, e.g. is it useful? Does it work as you expect? Could it be improved? Do you love/hate it?
Whatever your opinion, we will take all feedback seriously.
Click here to record and submit your video response (60 seconds max).
Your responses will only be viewed by Microsoft. For details about how Flipgrid treats your data please refer to Flipgrid - Terms of Use.

8 votes
39 comments
Hi guys,
How to submit a feature request
If you've had a really good idea and want SwiftKey to hear all about it, the best way to do that is to submit it via the 'Feature Request' form here:
https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
We look forward to reading all your requests and improvements.
The best way to post a question
The community can help you answer your question with speed and quality. We highly recommend you always add this information to your post:
- Device make and model
- Device Android version
- Current SwiftKey version
- Steps to reproduce
- Any screen shots / video clips that help show the issue
The more information you can leave means the quicker your answer can get answered.
Best,
Ryan, SwiftKey Community Manager

Flow typing has stopped working for me. Everything else seems to work though. Just no flow. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app. Cleared cache. Restarted phone. Switched to Gestures and back. Talkback is not enabled. Not positive but it might have stopped working after recent android update.

Huge typing problems in Facebook on Android
0 votes
1 comment
In many cases, Swift has become impossible to use when entering or editing comments in Facebook. Typing straight-away works okay, but you sometimes can't delete a word without it getting confused, or insertion text (it inserts elsewhere). It seems it's losing track of the cursor position which causes odd behaviors. You can see that the suggested words get confused too (probably from the cursor problem.) I sometimes have to compose in another app and then paste. Very frustrating. I'm guessing that Facebook is doing some odd things that maybe trip-up SwiftKey. Needs to be fixed soon! -

I've been using swiftkey for years now with no issues. As of this morning it has complete broken. I can still "type" with it. But: The top bar with predictions and autocorrect has gone completely blank. Spellcheck is nonexistant I cant delete in blocks anymore, I have to tap delete for every letter and it doesnt autospace after punctuation or auto captialize letters. Swipe text has completwly stopped working. And finally if i press the emoji button it just completely freezes my phone which is just fantastic! I really dont want to have to switch keyboard apps as i really like swiftkey when its working so any help is very much appreciated. I have restarted my phone, cleared my caches and reinstalled the app multiple times now with no success. Help! -

Auto-correct changing valid words Answered

Quite often SwiftKey will change a valid word to another word incorrectly. I'll type "while" and it will change it to "whole", "if" to "of" and similar. It would be great to have a switch to the effect "Don't change valid words". -
cursor jumping around weirdly and getting stuck (space bar cursor control fixes?) Answered

Sometimes when I'm typing (not sure when this happens exactly) my cursor will be forcefully moved to a new location. when I try to tap in the text box to go where I want, the cursor moves visually, but when I type it puts me back in that new location. I'm stuck there until I long press the space bar to move the cursor in a new location. screen record example: https://imgur.com/a/WQ666Xz -

speech-to-text closing after one word 2nd time being used
0 votes
1 comment
when i use speech-to-text via long-pressing the comma button, it seems to work fine. if I leave the display up and hit the button again to say more, no matter how much I say it only outputs the first word, and it usually turns itself off after that one word. I think usually when this happens, if I hit the button again it works fine, then again will only be one word, and so on. this also happens if i: open speech to text say some stuff close speech to text open speech to text say some stuff this ^ is not an effective workaround, the bug still happens. i dont remember for sure if this happens if I close the keyboard and reopen it. I'll test that case and get videos soon. this has been happening for a long time, at least 6 months. I have a pixel 5 with updated Android. p.s. also planning to make a post soon about my cursor jumping around very frustratingly so lmk if anyone else has experienced that -

Is there a shekel key on your Hebrew keyboard? I noticed there are some other money symbols, but I could not find the most important money symbol for a Hebrew keyboard.

If there is one on the keyboard, where do I look?

Keyboard crashes (with Slack) Answered

Hello,
I would like to report crashes ocurring on my phone.
This happens in apps, if you tap to some input, the keyboard just won't show up. Tapping elsewhere and focusing other input also does not work, same as closing the other app and reopening, when this happens, the keyboard just won't show up anywhere in the system. The only thing working is going to SwiftKey app info, force-stopping the app and then starting the keyboard from the app drawer.
For me, it happens a lot in Slack application. Right now, I don't recall other app crashing it, but that also means I cannot say if other app does it or not.

Editing misspelled word causes cursor to jump to another spot Answered

When using flow, if there's a error and I don't notice and use arrows to go back to the correction spot and start to type, the cursor suddenly jumps to the end and changes the last word I typed. This is a very new development and super annoying.
I have Android V12

Hi all! Please add a latin layout of the Chechen language.
You can find a layout I made for UNIX systems in the link below. Me and our community could help you integrate it into SwiftKey, if necessary.Chechen latin layout for UNIX: https://github.com/gushmazuko/chechen-latin-keyboard-layout
I am entirely at your service for further information.

Clipboard improvement Answered

Please add a feature that allows users to control clipboard content while posting from clipboard, while the clipboard is open, so there's no need to select where we want to paste the item, open clipboard paste the item, close the clipboard, select new area and open clipboard and then again close, open... Select... I propose that you add arrows in the clipboard, space and enter button that could control where a user would like to post items from the clipboard. If you didn't understand my suggestion, I can try to clarify it further. -

SwiftKey too eager in splitting words in Dutch Answered
1 vote
1 comment
I'm on Android with SwiftKey 8.10.13.1 with Dutch and English enabled. In a recent update in the last couple of months, SwiftKey has become quite destructive in splitting words in the smallest possible sensible components instead of the largest ones. This is annoying, because Dutch is a compounding language. That means we glue compounds or derivatives together, much like German, so we can have words like slaapkamerwekkerradio. SwiftKey doesn't like this. It especially seems to have an issue with words that have a preposition as a prefix/suffix. For instance it autocorrects "inspanning" as "in spanning", "vooraan" as "voor aan", "uitgeven" as "uit geven", and so on. This is only recently happening (somewhere this year), but it is quite annoying. I wish this could be remedied because I find that I have to correct SwiftKey much too often these days.

请求适配安卓全键盘智能机型

特别喜欢使用微软这款输入法,但是本人目前在用的是unihertz titan pocket这款小众机型,发现这款输入法对实体全键盘的支持较弱,希望增强适配.主要从几个功能提出诉求: 1.目前不能空格选词上屏 2.希望增加alt+数字键选词上屏功能 3.希望增加自定义短语功能,意思就是让用户自行设置按两下单个按键输入固定标点或短语,比如连续按两下k,输入可以的这个常用词汇 -

Please add this to Malayalam language
0 votes
1 comment
Hi, Just wanted to say that it is next to impossible to type the word "trip" in Malayalam. It always add the word "drip" which is correctly translated as "ട്രിപ്പ്". The t sound is "റ്റ". The d sound is "ട". Similarly for the word "tree" it wrongly translates to "ട്രീ", which sounds like "dree". So for "trip", just replace "ട" to "റ്റ" and it will be perfect. -
