I have a Note 8 and both Gboard and SwiftKey get huge or small when changing resolutions. After rebooting they don't ever change again. I never turn off WQHD

I have to reboot because at least half the apps I use are too large or too small after any resolution change. I wouldn't call it an app fault, resolution changes with high DPI snuck up on them.

You need to always reboot after a resolution change. Many apps have glitches

3. Lack of single press delete of incorrectly predicted word is a show stopper

No. Turn off the "show predictions after flow" in typing options. Fixes this issue.
