Swiftkey, please stop ignoring your community: Prediction is horrible. Add dictionary separation w/mult languages, please!
First, I noticed prediction lags. A lot. Especially if you type fast.
Now, please help me with this: 1. I don't use pinyin (Chinese input). I don't even have it enabled as pinyin. I use a different typing system (zhuyin system) and yet Swiftkey still predicts pinyin. But why? Why am I forced into this option? This leads to the next problem: Swiftkey likes to predict English words like "uber" into "uber" with an umlaut. This is equally annoying because the English word is not the same as the German word.
2. There's no way to tell where some special letters or modifiers are. For example, the German "ß?" Go ahead and guess where it's found without checking EVERY SINGLE KEY on the keyboard. And the Russian keyboard? I don't even want to start.
For a keyboard that is supposed to be convenient, it, somehow, manages to force you into multilingualism. What if I don't want to, though? I want to type in one language at a time for the sake of accuracy. This prediction really... kills.
I am having the exact same problem. I write in English and French and have both keyboards enabled, however I receive predictions from both language no matter which keyboard I currently have active.
Is there a way to restrict predictions only to the language of the current keyboard, so I will only receive English predictions on the English keyboard and French predictions on the French keyboard?
I hope the developers do something about this--it's more of an annoyance than anything because this coupled with sliding, prediction is even more way off.
I have the same problem about multi languages prediction in en/fa. It's horribly annoying and I couldn't find a solution, can anyone help?
Someone really needs to answer this... it's a huge pain/inconvenience.
Same problem here. I use 3 languages.
And I paid for a keyboard that DOES NOT WORK
Same problem here. What have developers thought about? If I want to get suggestions for a language, I'll simply select that language.
Same here. This is horrible. Even i decided to go for Google keyboard while ago and today jut check back to see the problem solved or not. I couldn't believe it is still the same. Google keyboard it is.
If we keep writing here. We might become visible to developers...
Yes, we need to get noticed. This is absurd. Very inconvenient to write without such a simple option.
Hi,
I have the same issues with French and English. I tweeted @ SwiftKey support, providing an example for autocorrect mixing up the both languages. They answered that's it's normal since the word exists in both dictionaries. When I asked them explicitly if we van have the predictions separated, they never replied back.
Seems to me that they have no interest of fixing this :/
That's terrible! We need to keep asking for the feature. It's NOT hard to implement, code-wise, it's just a switch of code where instead of sharing dictionaries, there's a button to activate the reading of only the one that's being used. I don't know how they can not care about their community--they depend on us and treat us like sh*t.
I use six languages fairly commonly. 4 of them (Norwegian Bokmål, English, French and Spanish) use the Latin alphabet, while the other two (Ukrainian and Russian) use the Cyrillic alphabet. When I am using either language in Cyrillic I get predictions from both languages. When I am writing in one of the Latin-alphabet languages, I get predictions from all four. I often get predictions from three different languages, none of which are the language I'm actually typing in.
I would hope they could make at least make a minor tweak to their prediction algorithm to make sure that at least one or two of the predictions are from the same language as the previous word.
Amazingly stupid and useless. Changing back to the alternative after 30 min.
Still, predictions are lowsy! Come on Microsoft! Predictions on Windows Phone 8.1 were superb. Even Windows Mobile 10 was better than SwiftKey has now and that wasn't as good as WP8.1. For example, I was typing the word information and accidentally typed an 'm' for the second letter. Even after typing the rest of the word correctly it still did not give information as a suggestion.
