Hello @Lia,
The red underline is called "spell checker", and it's an android feature, it will work with Google Keyboard (Gboard) and some OEM first party keyboards, but sadly not with most of the 3rd party keyboards, including SwiftKey.
If you follow the steps:
Normally you won't see them again. Again, this is not a SwiftKey problem.
Happy typing
Alpert
Hello, first of all thanks for the great keyboard. Now this recently happened to me, I changed nothing. But when I use another keyboard like gboard, red kines disappear!
With Google's keyboard when I switch languages the spell checker knows to switch dictionaries. With SK the dictionary doesn't change and hence the red underlines. For me personally this is a deal breaker. I really like SK but not willing to give up spell checking.
Any chance for a different solution without turning off the spell checker?
Thank you very much alpert you really helped me❤️❤️❤️
Similar to the above (Google speller works, with the google keboard active, yet marks as read when using SwitfKey),
The odd thing is that SwiftKey works fine on Galaxy S9 (Android 9) but doesn't on Pixel 3a (Andorid 10) - so it depends on your Android phone and possibly your version (10 isn't yet available for S9, and i didn't have Pixel before 10).
Very annoying since SwiftKey is my preferred keyboard :-\
This solution doesn't a work for me. Any one else having this problem?
Seeing the same problem when running on OnePlus7T with Android 10.
When I go to spell checker menu and select Hebrew as the language (instead of System Languages (which contain English and Hebrew)), then Hebrew text is spell checked correctly and English words are not.
I guess SK doesn't signal correctly to Android that Language was switched, thus it still uses the English one.
BTW, tried adding Hebrew words to the private dictionary - they do appear in the dictionary but they're still flagged with a red underline.
I would like to share my data with a co worker without him logging in to my account how can I transfer my saved data to another account
Is there a way to get back my data from another account that was deleted
my phone settings does not have a spell checker
Well, simply UNINSTALL G-Board or make it disable, or moved to the default version or clear its data... One of these option will surely work..
Disabling spell check will not work in higher android versions.
Thanks Umair, I can confirm uninstalling the G board it works. 👍Note disabling g biard still leave swiftkey with underline.
After over a year of having to suffer with the stupid underline getting in my way. It's finally gone! Thanks Mohammed!
I can't disable or uninstall Gboard on my Oppo find x2 pro, since gboard is the system keyboard. any chance to disable gboard or uninstall it without root?
I'm actually having the same trouble too, for a moment it went away, but now it's back and all I can do is set gboard to not update...
I have to clear gboard app data two or three times every day to get rid of the red underlines. so so so annoying. I'm forced to uninstall swiftkey and use gboard. damn google.
Nicholas I think it's an Oppo problem! I have the brand new oppo find x3 Pro and this annoying problem will not go away, I just changed from Samsung galaxy note 10 plus where I did not have this issue. I contacted oppo uk and their answer was pathetic I couldn't believe it!!! They asked me the customer after spending over a thousand pounds on their phone to write to swift key as a developer to develop an answer to this issue of underline under every word I type in Arabic or Russian any language using swift key on oppo you will see the red line for their handsets oppo 🤣🤣 it's my fault I wanted to try something new. There's a reason people stick with big brands like Samsung. I feel stupid for spending the same amount on oppo phone. Did oppo not test typing in any other language than English before releasing?
Actually what I find is that may be a Swiftkey problem.
The Swiftkey seems to use the spell checker for the first language that your system uses, ignoring the languages selected in Swiftkey settings. If you write in your system language, the words are no more underlined.
Also, if you write some words in any language in Gboard, then when you write the same words in Swiftkey, those words are no more underlined. So it seems that Gboard stores somewhere the words you type and then Swiftkey use that database.
