    Hi,

To delete the entire word, SwiftKey has "tap & hold (long-press) on delete key" to achieve in no matter which input method. No need to tap several times the delete key to remove letter by letter.

Having to hold/long-press the backspace key really slows down my typing (using swipe). I'd really prefer to have the option to swipe the backspace key to delete the previous key.

Going from swiping characters to having to peck-and-hold a key really breaks the flow.

This is one missing feature that has me on the fence about this keyboard.  I like a lot of the other features, but not deleting the last word with a single quick press - sucks.  I think that should be an industry standard.

Please add this as an option.  It too is slowing me down.  Coming from Microsoft Word Flow keyboard, which I absolutely loved, I am frustrated to have to repeatedly tap backspace or hold backspace to delete an entire word.  Much easier to just tap backspace and re-swipe the word, and faster.  Isn't that the main point of this keyboard?  Other wise I like the keyboard and am getting used to it.  Just this one feature is missing.  At least make it an option in the settings.

This is the main reason that I've switched away from SwiftKey to gboard. Yet, I keep coming back to SwiftKey after a short time. I don't think I've ever used the backspace key except to delete whole words or to delete the trailing space so that I don't end up with extra spaces trailing my final word. It's not an issue for apps that chomp/trim trailing whitespace.

FFS. Why would this still be an issue? Is there a copy right on backspace the last prediction option?

    Please add this.
Try gboard during at least 2 minutes and you will see that it is a 'must have' feature.

Just make it an option - incredibly easy to do. Please pass on to your engineers to add the feature. It's small, but makes using this keyboard so much worse, and a deal breaker for some on an otherwise great keyboard.

I agree, please add this! We use "flow" because there's a nice and smooth flow to our method of typing, and it works very well. Having to hold the back button or repeatedly tap it completely ruins the "flow" we're supposed to have. It also eliminates any "swift"ness we had going for us, totally killing this keyboards mojo! Also, everyone is leaving for gboard primarily because this doesn't exist, and because we are unable to resize the predictive text bar.

I'd like to bump this. Does a new item need to be created to get eyes back on this request?
