Revert to letters after using the spacebar after punctuation.

I just switch from iOS SwiftKey to Android Switfkey and the keyboard is a bit different. Its smaller, which is okay... But the punctuation is different. On iOS when I would type "oh my gosh!" for example, the keyboard would revert back to the letters after I typed the "!" and pressed the spacebar. I can't find an option for this. Is there one? If not, PLEASE fix this! 

Another thing is the keys are in different places so I'm finding it hard to adapt. Adding a layout option for the keyboards would help. The bottom row of symbols has 8 symbols instead of the 5 I was used to. I am sure I will adjust, but it would be a nice feature for users who are switching keyboards.
