SwiftKey on iOS iPad adding periods if pause during voice to text

SwiftKey on iOS iPad adding periods if pause during voice to text. When hitting the microphone button on SwiftKey keyboard on iPad I noticed that if I do not speak quickly that a period will automatically be added where I don't want it. If I use stock iPad keyboard it works fine. Any thoughts on SwiftKey? Was using iMessages. Thanks Peter
