Agreed. I have big fingers and to share a key with comma can be a pain. Thanks for looking into this Swiftkey

I second the request to have a dedicated speech button. Google does it on their key board and it's very convenient.

Another vote for this request.  It would be great to be able to tap a button for voice.

A dedicated voice input key is the only thing lacking for me from SwiftKey. It would be AMAZING if I didn't have to share it with the comma key.

Honestly, the lack of the dedicated voice input key is making me consider switching to Google's keyboard where they have one...

I also am requesting this feature as well.

Swiftkey said they have it but it's shared with the comma. That is not the same as having a dedicated key like Google. Give us the choice; it's that simple.

I have to agree. That single missing feature is what made me switch to gboard. I missed SwiftKey. For some reason my typing is so much better with SwiftKey but I'm already missing that button and finding it frustrating especially when my wife uses my phone while I'm driving and can't find it. Plain and simple it's not in the default expected spot for the user which is a bad user experience. Unfortunately it's probably going to make me switch back to gboard

I find Swiftkey a great product so I don't understand why they don't just give us the choice. It's so simple. Someone there feels that they already have it covered, I guess, and they are not going to listen to uses. Why do you think people use Google keyboard? You push one button and you get voice input. Phone utilization is going more and more voice so Swiftkey, catch up!

I agree that this is the one feature that would make SwiftKey PERFECT.

    Hi
I just recently downloaded this app and love it. However the voice to text cannot be used because of its placement. I agree with the above statements, please change.

Absolutely right. I tried Gboard for few weeks but SwiftKey is much more intuitive. But the long press to get to speech to text is not quite right

I'll add my voice (to text) to the chorus. This is the ONE feature I cannot live without. Currently I have to switch to GBoard if I go in the car for a commute. Ugh. Just have an option to make it appear on the right side of the screen or how putting it on a bigger key like the spacebar?

This would really help. Or ability to customize the position ourselves.

Been using SwiftKey for a long time but I had to switch to Google.... I use this feature a lot. It's needs to be more accessible. A single click.... not a long press.

I think the answer is clear - they think sharing voice with the comma is just fine and they are not changing.

I received a response to my post from Swiftkey.
They said it has to do with Google because they control this feature and that they would see if they could work it out with Google to move it

For me I have the same request  as the many people before me. I agree with the above statements. Please change the voice to text button and possibly follow Google's lead...

In this era of hands-free driving laws in the US, I would hope this would get some priority. It is insanely difficult to long press the key correctly (portrait mode particularly) while driving. Many thanks!

A thousand votes for this. Just took to Google to find a solution. The samsung keyboard stinks and it's really hard to press the microphone button on Swiftkey.

Yes! Gotta add a dedicated voice input button! So much more important than a dedicated emoji key

Clearly, the input of their users is overwritten by their belief that it's not necessary. I'd say, leave that up to us. A simple setting to select a dedicated voice button seems so easy but yet, nothing. Says a lot about what they think of our input.

How many car accidents do you think there have been because drivers cant find the microphone button on swiftly?  Really?!  Its essential, mit saves lives!!!

Yes a dictation button similar to gboard is really needed.

A dedicated microphone button is vital to make this application something I can keep using.

Recently a small + key was added to the top left. Perhaps we can have a mic button on the top right.

Secondly, the key to the right of the spacebar should be programable. I would much rather have it a question mark rather then a period.

Besides those two items this app is very good. Thanks SwiftKey

I totally agree with this, A dedicated key to activate voice input at the right side is the best, or configurable in the options to support left handed people.

I just installed Swiftkey for the first time. I loved it but had to remove it due to the downright impossibility of being able to actually hit and hold the comma on a Note 8 set at 600dpi.

I guess I'll keep looking or go back to gboard.
