Thanks for the suggestion, Joe. While I can't say whether or not this will indeed become a feature, I ask that you please submit a Feature Request Form so that the team can have this request directly.

    Dear Brandon!

I made a Feature Request, today that missing option is a huge problem a lot of hungarian Sony users.

The new Sony XZ1 and XZ1 Compact arrived with preinstalled SwiftKey keyboard. The main problem: the Flow function with Hungarian language is almost unusable, because that languange is the most difficult and have the highest word variations of the world. In daily usage, typing with flow is the slowest method, I must correct the words always.

The Gesture input (the other choice between the Flow) is unusable too, because if you typing fast, the SwitfKey recognize the moves to "erase the last word". In hungarian language use a lot of special national characters in the words: éáűőúóüöí and it makes a lot of long press on char + move left or right actions. The left swipeing in Gestures mode is the "Erase the last word" function. It is really annoying... :(
In my last phone, I fixed this problem with a horrible method: I installed an older version of SwiftKey, when the Flow function was Disableable. The SwiftKey was really good solution, I loved it, but it never can be updateable.

Now the main problem, the SwiftKey is preinstalled in my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact phone, and I can't downgrade the app, but it is unusable now in my language for quick typing. I know I can change the keybord app (AnySoftKeyboard or Google's etc) but I love that APP, and I would like to use it.

Please, add a "Disable Gesture AND Flow" function to SwiftKey!

I wrote that request to Sony too, but they recommendation is "Contact the app developer".

    Thanks,

    Ferenc Szent

PLEASE provide an option to disable both flow and gesture! I hate, hate, HATE having to deal with them. I am deaf and unable to make phone calls, so I live by my keyboard, texting, messaging, and emails. I would so appreciate if you would offer that option. I have used SwiftKey app for my last 3 phones, and I really do love the app in general, but on my new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I'm not able to disable the flow and I'm so exasperated. Looking forward to seeing there's been a change.

Totally agree, PLEASE make this an option! I've been using SwiftKey for many years now, and generally a very happy user, but since this recent change the keyboard has become a lot less user-friendly. If we cannot disable gesture input altogether I may have to switch to another keyboard, which I really don't want...

Cmon, SwiftKey.. it can't be THAT difficult to code a option to disable it totally?

It is really a shame... Gonna search for other keyboards now.

Having FLOW enabled all the time is a PITA.

I would also like to see an option where it ican be disabled.

I've also requested this as a feature as well. Surely it can't be difficult. Come on SwiftKey

My problem is simple. I can't stand the swirls across my keyboard. It's not natural at all and it's a distraction since I never watch what I type I watch my keyboard because aside from having ADD and getting distracted by swirls on my screen (ergo this diatribe) I also have big thumbs and I have to line up my fat thumbs dead center or there's no telling what will get put up on my screen. As it is half the time I hit n rather than the space bar and SwiftKey usually catches it but then it also misses it occasionally and I guess it almost changes language because it totally gives up on whatever I'm trying to type and I'll find mystlf trying who knows what.

I've submitted a ticket for this as well. Can anyone report back on the status of their request?

I really like how the old Google keyboard does this: pressing on a key and sliding up is uppercase, down is the symbol attached to the key, holding a second then left/right is to access more phenolic variations. But Google keyboard stopped remembering my dictionary so I switched to SwiftKey.

1 year already, I created like 5 requests and nothing, that's really annoying. SwiftKey with gesture input is like a Ferrari with just 2 gears...

Seriously SwiftKey, how is it possible that you still haven't implemented this? You're constantly updating the app, but the functionality is constantly getting worse. I may have to find a new keyboard altogether.

Very poor, SwiftKey. Over 2 years since this was raised by YOUR USERS. That is terrible customer service. Can someone come on here and answer either wnen it will be added or say why it won't be added? I constantly have to edit typing due to stupid spaces getting inserted when I've inadvertently dragged my thumb.

Seriously though, how is this not done yet?

You're planning all these things but nothing as simple as this?
