SwiftKey Keyboard has stopped / crashing

I get the same behaviour since yesterday. I updated a few apps on the phone, including some Google apps, and since the SwiftKey has become unstable. It just crashed as I was typing this message, but restarted fairly quickly.

Same issue for me,it started yesterday as well,"SwiftKey Keyboard has stopped",had to go back to stock keyboard,otherwise i cant use it since it keeps closing itself.

Where can we find the new version, it's not in the play store?

The 6.5.8.26 version rolls out this morning, it might have some delay in different regions due to Google Play policy. And I confirm we only have Google Play as official way to install SwiftKey on Android phones.

For @Stefan, unfortunately we do not guarantee the well function on 3rd party ROMs. 

The new version did not fix it for me. I had to force stop it and clear the app data. Now it seems to be working

I also have the same problem.  Started about a week or two ago, and the problem still exists in version 6.5.8.26.  I don't want to clear the app data, because I'm guessing that'll wipe all my predictive history.  Very annoying.

Hi Paul,

If you logged in SwiftKey with your Google account, wipe data won't clear your predictive dictionary. It only clear local data: clipboard, taps saved, but never touch your personal dictionary.

Meanwhile 6.5.9.15 new version is rolling out.

I'm having the same problem and have tried all the suggested solutions. Any updates on solving this? I love swiftkey and don't want to switch

Hi SwiftKey,

The app crashed on my Samsung Galaxy S6 this evening at about 18:15 UK time. I tried to use the keyboard on several apps including Facebook messenger and WhatsApp, but it did not work, so I restarted my phone.

Unfortunately, now I have restarted the phone I am unable to enter my phones access password as the keyboard app is not working.

Can you help?!

Same here. Latest Swiftkey crashing on Samsung S6 after some usage. I had the same crashing happening 2-3 months ago but seemingly this still hasn't been fixed. Uninstalling Swiftkey is the only option to use keyboard after crash happens. Restarting phone doesn't help.
