    Hi Sean,

    Two things here:

    1) You can change the layout for one or both languages. While this does not necessarily give that language priority it might help.

    2) As you add more languages and type in those languages, your personal SK dictionary starts to get filled with words from that other language - so the chances of seeing mixed words increases

I have similar experiences. I am using SwiftKey for years, now on my Motorola Moto G5 plus and Galaxy Tab s2 9.7, both run stock Android 7.0
On both devices I have 3 languages installed, English UK, Dutch (NL) and German. My native language is Dutch and so most of my messages and mails are typed in this language. Since a couple of months however it appears that when typing Dutch texts there are a lot more "foreign" words predicted or inserted by SwiftKey. It completes Dutch words with English or German suggestions. This happens way more than before and is very annoying. My wife is having the same problems on her Galaxy S5+ by the way.
Can you please fix this? Make the predictions more intelligent and based on the language of words which are already typed in the same text? Or make it possible to choose a primary language?

I have exactly the same problem as mr. Wolthuis. I specifically noticed that German is often predicted after a question mark. Maybe it can be set so that other languages are only predicted after two words are typed in that language? It also happens a lot mid-sentence when a word is used that exists both in Dutch and German.

Likewise, I'm having the same issue typing(flowing) in English and suddenly the farsi word انوش shows up instead of 'English' . How do we prevent mixing of languages?

So @SwiftKey, when are you going to react on this and fix this problem?

For the first time in years I decided to try an alternative keyboard and leave SwiftKey. I will try Gboard, hopefully this will work better than the recent SwiftKey. Goodbye!

Me too, I am actually considering switch since it seems that it's not going to be fixed

Already switched to Gboard. SwiftKey was nigh unusable that way. Your move, SwiftKey.

The mixing of languages may be a good idea for some, but can you make it optional so that I can choose to not get suggestions for two languages at the same time? It's highly inefficient. Thank you.

Indeed. I'd prefer to write purely in English or Farsi. Originally, I never wished to have them mixed together. The Swiftkey app is wonderful, but the change of language aspect it could accommodate with a 'space' swipe like other keyboard apps.

That is actually possible, by setting a different keyboard layout for the other language. I've tried this but since the exclamation mark and question mark are a right swipe from the dot, I was changing language half the time at the end of a sentence.

Until a couple of months ago it worked perfectly and predictions were not mixed up between different languages, so I don't understand why it is messed up now. I don't want to switch between languages manually though, the automatic switch was one of the benefits why I started using SwiftKey in the first place.

Given SwiftKey is based on neural networks it should be able to to work out the starting language and work from that and then allow the manual space swipe to enable you to switch language mid message if you want to. Simple.

I don't understand why you have to have a different keyboard layout to enable you to switch language priority. I want to switch between languages but always use the same layout. We only get 3 predictive options and I don't want them clogged with other languages I'm not currently writing in.

    Same problem here.

How about this for a solution?

    Swedish keyboard - Swedish words

    German keyboard - German words

    English keyboard - English words

Then one only has to swipe space bar to change language of the prediction.

Bjarki, exactly. Such a simple solution yet no sign we will ever get it.

Tengo el mismo problema, escribo en español tanto como en Inglés o Francés, en Touchpal la opción para deshabilitar la combinación de idiomas se llama "Entrada combinada", en Gboard se llama "Esccritura multilingüe" ¿Por qué Swifkey no la puede tener?

How do I change my primary language? At the time of installion I chose Telugu as my primary language but I didn't expect Telugu to override English while using the Roman letters keyboard. Every time I type in English, Telugu words are predicted / inserted. I guess one can change this by choosing English as the primary language but there seems to be no way to do that. Team SwiftKey, please do something about it.

Yes, please fix this. It's extremely annoying, and it just started recently, so I don't know if it's the result of some update or what. It seems like it should be easy to make it so that predictions only come up for the language you're using at the time. When I toggle my keyboard to Persian, I should get Persian predictions. When it's on English, I should get English predictions. I'm not a computer expert by any means, but it seems like something that should be very fixable.

I barely ever even use Persian, so I don't understand why predictions of Persian words that I've never even used before get prioritized over common English words that I use every day.

I have the same problem and it's very annoying! I just tried using SwiftKey after a few happy years on Swype, which only gave suggestions for the currently selected language. The different keyboard workaround does not work very well either.

Was going to try SwiftKey, but not with it if multiple language support is this bad :(

I am using three languages and all with different keyboard layouts. Nevertheless I still get all languages mixed up. Fix this, otherwise gboard ist the alternative.
