Sorry for the bad support experience you had with our agent.

And sorry again for what I am going to tell you: All the records you see on the main setting page except for "SwiftKey stats" won't be synced, including the taps saved, words flowed you mentioned, and all the rest of it: words completed, distance flowed, efficience gained...These data are stored locally, on device.

But, I guess you confused a bit with "personal dictionary" and "words completed". "Words completed" means how many words you typed on your current device by using SwiftKey. However the "personal dictionary" is where contains your personal words, phrases, which SwiftKey learnt from you. For visualizing that, you'll need to tap on "show me" button on "SwiftKey stats", and if you scroll down a bit, you'll see a section named "Vocabulary size", and that shows how many words you taught SwiftKey and synced across your devices.

Hope my answer is clear enough for you since English Is not my first language.

    Thank you for choosing SwiftKey

    Hello,

This forum is the only place to submit a feedback for SwiftKey keyboard, I don't know where did you make the contact with the team. Besides our support team is not the same team of Microsoft support team.

Back to your question: what information you want to be synced? Normally it works once you logged in.

    Hello Albert,

Thank you for your quick response.

Three day's ago I received a response from Kelly Rodrigues from Swiftkey which was not the correct answer..

That being said my old phone predictions are not transferring over to the new phone. I backed up both phones, and the old data isn't transferring.  Read some of your responses stating some of the categories wouldn't transfer like the Taps saved, Words Flowed, Flowed, and I think you mentioned Words Completed. What I would like to transfer over is the Words Completed.  Please let me know what I'm doing wrong with this transfer processes.

    Thank you

    Hello Albert,

So I understand this correctly..... Basically your saying that I can't sync anything over to my new phone except for my account name correct?

In today's age everyone is flipping and switching phones within two years.  I'm very surprised the SwiftKey can't convert the predictions over I'm shocked to be honest.

Why doesn't Swiftkey have a paid version that stores the account into a cloud base platform?  It seems silly after any period time that I would lose all that time of using your software.  I can understand why Swiftkey wouldn't store on a free version but at least offer a cloud base.  Also surprised that Microsoft would purchase software that doesn't have an up-sell to the product.  To be honest very disappointed, and should be a disclaimer  on the download when switching phone you will loose all the predictions.

    Hello,
I'm sorry if I did not make it clear, but it seems that you understand wrongly.

I said the personal predictions will be synced across your devices. But SwiftKey doesn't name "personal predictions" as "words completed", it's named "vocabulary size". In your first post I think you got confused with the names.
In short : "vocabulary size" = your predictions = will be synced. "words completed" = how many words you typed with SwiftKey on current device = won't be synced.

    Albert,

Ok, my words predicted haven't transferred over to the new phone.

Booth phones have backed up, and synced.  The old phone shows a large number (Word Predicted), and the new phone shows a small number of words predicted.

What do I need to do next?

    Thanks

Large number and small number? Can you please add details and screenshots? I'm a bit confused.

My old phone under the Words Predicted has over 21K which didn't carry over to the new phone.  The new phone show 3,459 under the Words Predicted. Dose that make sense?

    Thanks

As I said, the words completed or words predicted does not represent your vocabulary. That is a history of how many words you inserted to your phone by using SwiftKey. For example by typing the replies above, my "words completed" has increased for about 300 words, that's counting on the number of the words, not remembering the content of what I typed.
Your vocabulary aka the content of your words (and that is what you want to sync) is represented by vocabulary size. That's two different things, I repeated for the third time.

I am also unable to restore my layout or dictionary. Please understand I don't care about statistics at this time. I just want to have my stored layout, phrases and words back.

I have just switched from a Samsung Galaxy S7 to a Samsung Note 8 and transferred my data via Smart Switch. As SwiftKey is automatically installed using this process, I ran it and entered in my Google login information. However, neither my layout nor my dictionary appeared. I then shut off SwiftKey on the old phone, and on the new phone signed back in and hit the sync button. Still nothing.

    What do I do?

I should add that starting with this page, then hitting the login button so I can add a comment, won't return me to this page if I'm using the Chrome browser. The URL is incomplete and loads a blank page. Using the Samsung Internet browser DOES work, however. I am wondering whether this is a method of discouraging people from using Google Chrome by Microsoft. Apple used to do the same thing to Google, not letting any of the latter's apps work on the iPhone, until Apple's iMaps app fiasco a few years ago.

    Hi Edward,

I don't know how Smart Switch works, but in general it could not transfer the app data of SwiftKey. Several question:

    • Have you logged into SwiftKey Account by using Google Account on your S7?
    • Has it backed up on your S7?
    • Did you use the same Google Account to login SwiftKey on your Note 8?
    • If questions above are all "yes", can you try to log out then re-login on your Note 8?

Something you maybe want to know: the layout won't be synced, but the purchased theme will. I need to ask: how you made sure that dictionary is not synced?

About your 2nd post, are you referring the forum site (that's what I assume)? I have no problem using Chrome, tap on back button does bring me back to previous page (on both PC and Android).

I'd like to know: why aren't SwiftKey stats synced at all? That's a really great feature and I hate to reinstall the app because everytime statistics about my typing are reseted. It's the same user, the same account, why can't SwiftKey keep counting our key presses?

Really don't think you answered some questions here.
Please, my vocabulary /data/predictions are available when I sign to the Web, I could also download the Zip version.
However, my s8 does not seem to predict the same way or understand the vocabulary I type.
Please note that I have logged in using the same account and correctly backed up.

    Eg of issue:
If I type :Blaise, it should predict Eze next or my email address as I type... Just like my other phone

Hello.  Ok ..This is crazy that it won't sync and after not seeing a Clear Thread on How To..I figured out a positive solution....I just tried it...not sure on all but def better outcome so far:

***YOU NEED to download SWIFTKEY BETA from Google Play and enable it under Settings: Language & Input.  I just tried it and although I don't see all my vocabulary, I do see right away a few of my predictions, where I did not see any with just regular Swiftkey.***

    Best,

    Jeff

same here - just unboxed a S10 5G and used to run a Huawei P30 pro - connected to my g-suite user account and used as authentication for swiftkey.

SwiftKey Account ID is the same on both phones

Predictions are not available on the new phone :(

also tried swiftkey beta, sign-out and sign-in again on both devices - checked online: all predictions are stored but not available on the new phone.

I find it really surprising that such a essential issue can persist in such a popular product for well over 2 years now.

I'm experiencing the same as Manuel above me. The data is there in the account, but not on the new installation.

I just did a factory reset of my phone and it doesn't remember my predictions. What should I do?

I reset my phone every few months and my saved vocabulary synced back to the phone every time I signed in. Something has changed in the past weeks. With the latest factory reset, the words are not coming back after sign in. A simple google search or Play Store review look up shows that a lot of users are facing the same issue!

It is pretty unbelievable that you cannot transfer your personal dictionary between devices, even after all these years.

Has anyone found a solution to this? Just switched from an LG G5 to an S9 and have the same issues experienced here. The predictions have not come across. Both phones are set to backup and sync. There are years of predictions missing...

This just happened in the past few days? How frustrating. I just bought a new phone and after syncing and backing up, all my predictions weren't transferred over. Very frustrating when they were supposed to be.

2 weeks ago I switched to a temporary phone and everything got synced. Last week bought a Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and after logging in, words could not be synced. Logged in to Swiftkey website and all my words were stored in my account.

What can be done to import them into my phone? Can I export it from PC and import it to my phone?
