[Duplicate] Android - Showing red underlines for *all* words in second language
Respondida(Sorry for reposting this, since the last post was closed for further comments and I couldn't reply)
This is not an Android issue - see two screenshots below, one with GBoard, one with SwiftKey - both of them work fine for the first language (English), but for the second language (Hebrew), SwiftKey shows all words as misspelled. For GBoard, I also added a misspelled word at the end of the Hebrew text, just to show that the spell checker does work there.
The solution @Alpert referred me to here (below), turns off spell check entirely, which is not something I'm looking for - I do want it, but I want it to work properly.

Original post:
For some reason, SwiftKey Android shows red underlines under *all* words in my second language (Hebrew), like they're all misspelled. It does work fine for the first language (=English).
This issue doesn't happen when I switch to another keyboard.
This is a known and not a SK problem as I stated before.
It doesn't happen with Gboard or the default keyboard because they're integrated with the Android system, and they have the access to the settings like "personal dictionary" in Android system; meanwhile SwiftKey is a 3rd party app, it does not have the system level access. That's why it cannot identify the languages other than system default language. In other words, Google Spell Checker works with Gboard but not SwiftKey.
The solution is to disable spell checker.
Thank you for the detailed answer!
This is really annoying. I wonder if I can submit a bug report to Android OS bug tracker about this (if such an issue doesn't already exist).
You're welcome. To me it's not a bug but some Google apps just have more access than other 3rd party apps.
Maybe one possible solution is to add a integrated spell checker inside SwiftKey. But I don't know if it's doable.
Maybe you can read this post and following the instructions to submit the request for adding the integrated spell checker. Meanwhile this is just my suggestion, you can submit one based on how you think about it.
For report to Android, maybe it worth a shot.
Thanks - I'll submit a feature request as well
This is super strange. I've had SK for 4 years on maybe 20 different phones from LGs to Samsungs and now on my 4th pixel. Plus on countless versions of the Android OS.
I NEVER had this problem before, until now. Spell check always worked for me in Hebrew, and in Spanish. Now it's all cray cray (underlining all words in red). G board works just fine. This, unfortunately is a deal breaker for me. Bummer.
my phone doesnt have a spell checker in the settings
