Hi David Wright, does the theme change when you are browsing with a private session or using a private messaging app? Would you be able to share a screenshot of the theme to which your keyboard has changed to? Thanks.

    Deniz K,

Thanks for your reply first of all, on my android phone that's currently running version 9.0 of the software I've got several different browser's installed. The main instance of this happening seems to be when I'm using the duck duck go privacy browser. But I have in fact noticed it happening when I'm using a different browser as well. At this point in time I really would like to determine the root cause of this so that I won't be forced to switch to a different keyboard option. Gboard came pre-installed on my phone, but I still prefer ms swiftkey.

Hi David Wright thank you for the information. Your Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard will automatically switch to Incognito mode when it detects either of the following:

    • A private browsing session in your browser.
    • A text field marked as private or sensitive (e.g. when using Telegram's "Secret Chat").

Since Duck Duck Go is a private session, it's expected for your keyboard to switch to incognito mode. You mentioned this happens with another browser too, are you also using it in private mode?

    Hi,
So I guess that means one of two things, (1) Just deal with the fact that it's in the design of the keyboard to function like this (2) Consider the possibility of not being able to use the duck duck go privacy browser at all.

Hi David Wright currently there isn't a feature to disable when incognito mode is automatically active as in your case.

Otherwise, when using your browser in usual mode or using any other app which isn't private, you can enable incognito and disable it back again.

If you would like to submit a feature request, you can do so via https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
