We recently brought Cursor Control to your Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard for Android. This much-requested feature had previously only ever been available on iOS.
If you haven't tried it out you can do so by tapping & holding your spacebar to move the cursor.
If you use multiple languages, cursor control will need to be turned on first; this setting can be found in your ‘Typing’ menu.
Make yourself heard!
We'd love to know what you think. This is YOUR opportunity to help us shape the future of Cursor Control, e.g. is it useful? Does it work as you expect? Could it be improved? Do you love/hate it?
Whatever your opinion, we will take all feedback seriously.

Hi guys,
How to submit a feature request
If you've had a really good idea and want SwiftKey to hear all about it, the best way to do that is to submit it via the 'Feature Request' form here:
https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
We look forward to reading all your requests and improvements.
The best way to post a question
The community can help you answer your question with speed and quality. We highly recommend you always add this information to your post:
- Device make and model
- Device Android version
- Current SwiftKey version
- Steps to reproduce
- Any screen shots / video clips that help show the issue
The more information you can leave means the quicker your answer can get answered.
Best,
Ryan, SwiftKey Community Manager

Adaptive keyboard layout for foldable devices Respondida

As the title suggests, there is a lack in foldable phone support in the sense that competing keyboards like gboard are able to accommodate. Switching to split keyboard once the device is open would make SwiftKey so much more convenient. Foldable markets are growing. Hopefully SwiftKey keeps up.

How to change clipboard 1 hour expiry settings

Hi Team I would like to check how I can keep clipboard entries without pinning them more than for 1 hour. Any reason for 1 hour decision? It doesn't make sense. I am OK to clear entries on restart but expiry 8s my decision and I need to be able to control that. Also pinning doesn't seem to work as I can't see my pinned items from windows machine on my Android. I think that app needs a bit of improvements. Regards, Areg -
Add support for multiple layouts when using a foldable phone Respondida

As the title says, SwiftKey is probably the best keyboard on Android and the fact that it doesn't support one layout for a small screen and another layout for a bigger/main screen is jarring. There aren't really any good alternatives out there and the foldable part of the SwiftKey community would benefit greatly from this addition. Heck, even Microsoft with their Duo series should have already thought about this problem for their users.

Swiftkey Hungarian spell correction is useless. Respondida

So I am obviously from Hungary and try to use Hungarian spell correction and it is ok for 5 to 10 percent of the time. Mostly it corrects the word to a less likely useful or used word. It makes me confusing because MS Office Word has a fantastic Hungarian spell correction database which is also Microsoft so why they don't apply it or use it for this?
Thanks!

Why is iOS SwiftKey different than Android? Missing amazing features
2 votos
5 comentarios
So I switched to iPhone after 6 years using an android phone. I installed swiftkey on ios noticed that the ios swiftkey app is missing some mandatory (imo) features which are present in android version.
Features like resizing keyboard, long press for all symbols and numbers (numbers in first row, other symbols like ;()!%_= etc. underneath), a comma on the left side of space button, long press duration and many more
Why is it like this and are there any official statements on this one? I just love the android swiftkey and don’t like swiftkey at all on ios.
Thanks

No Thumb Mode in Landscape Respondida

On my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, Thumb Mode only works in portrait mode. It would be great if thumb mode was also available for landscape mode as well. The only modes other than the full width that works is one handed mode and float mode.

Swiftkey on galaxy fold with separate layouts
6 votos
6 comentarios
Hi,
I've been using Swiftkey for many years, I really love this keyboard and features. I recently switched to a galaxy fold, and can't match the keyboard to a foldable use case.
Swiftkey has a one-handed layout, which is perfect for the main screen where I can't use swiping in any comfortable and precise way with the normal all-screen layout.
The problem is that if I set it to one handed layout, for some reason the keyboard on the external narrow screen is also narrower, even though simple logic dictates that the very narrow external display is already one-handed and shouldn't be resized.
I can't find any setting to disable this, I have to change the layout setting every time I switch displays which is stupidly annoying and making this keyboard useless on foldables.
Even the split ("thumb") layout follows to the external display, which is even stupider.
Samsung keyboard already has this obvious feature, there are settings to configure default layouts for main display and external display, the external one even has different settings for portrait and landscape modes.
Is there any way to force the keyboard to stay on full layout on the external display and one-handed layout on the main display? Or do I have to abandon Swiftkey for Samsung keyboard?
Thanks

Hello, could you guys implement the Kaomoji from Windows 10 to the Microsoft Swiftkey Keyboard for Android? I really wish to use the Swiftkey keyboard full-time without switching to either the Samsung Keyboard or Gboard for the Kaomojis. Please add Kaomoji to the Swiftkey Keyboard. -
How do I edit personal dictionary

By accident, I added a misspelled word to my personal dictionary. Have to admit it's not the first time. Can users access the words they added to the dictionary? How can I edit the personal dictionary? (I searched for this question but only found 5-6 yr old answers saying it can't be done. Am hoping there were improvements since then!) -

How to get more than 5 languages Respondida
1 voto

Hi there!
Is there anything I can do to add more than 5 languages? While I can add more to my list, I cannot activate more than 5 at any given time.
It is also quite a nuisance that you cannot instruct SwiftKey to restrict suggestions to a single language. If languages share the same fundamental layout principles, auto suggestions (auto-correct) will consider several languages at once which can make life quite hard.
For instance, German, French, English (UK) and Dutch will be "running" simultaneously, sometimes producing ridiculous suggestions.Cheers,

Improvement idea for text insertion by widgets in SwiftKey (To-Do, Bitwarden) Respondida
4 votos
2 comentarios
So Microsoft did something really great: they allowed certain apps like Bitwarden to insert text into the keyboard. (See my previous post about SwiftKey). Bitwarden now inserts my randomly generated passwords into login forms, which is amazing. I only have to select the Bitwarden logo under the text prediction menu in SwiftKey and voila. The same applies to To-Do: just select the To-Do logo in the prediction menu and you can choose which task to insert. But one thing that I noticed is that the widget disappears after you have pressed the widget logo and inserted a string of text. This is not a problem in general, but if you have selected the wrong item from a widget (i.e. the wrong password from Bitwarden or the wrong To-Do task) and then go back to delete the pasted text data from the login form, you then will not get to see the widget pop up in the prediction menu. It does not appear a second time or ever. Even if the field is empty again. So you spilled your first chance. It has disappeared, even if you need it a second time. That's why I would like to suggest a new feature for widgets. Situation: The user takes the cursor off the text field (outside the form) to scroll down or click somewhere else and returns to the form again. They then click/tap inside the same text field again. (Maybe to add something more or re-enter a different text string). Suggestion: Show the widget again. Make the widget active in the prediction field if the cursor dissappears from the field (field is inactive so to speak) but then reappears on the same field (field is active now). What SwiftKey does right now: it only gives you the option to insert text from a widget like To Do or Bitwarden the first time. So even if you delete the whole entry in the form field, press outside of the field and then back inside, it does not bring up the insertion option from To-Do or Bitwarden. Why not let SwiftKey behave the same way every time the user enters or activates a text field?
So instead of having to reload the page so SwiftKey reloads its Bitwarden/To Do widgets in the prediction menu: make SwiftKey even smarter.

SwiftKey remaps my physical keyb on Tab S6

I'm having trouble with SwiftKey remapping the Galaxy Tab S6 (running One UI 5.0) physical keyboard. For most punctuation symbols on the physical keyboard, I get entirely different symbols. See attached PNG table showing a) Top row: Key pressed, b) Bottom row: resultant symbol. If I switch to Samsung Keyboard, the problem disappears. SwiftKey ver 8.10.28.5
