I have been using Swiftkey on all my devices for many years and absolutely love it.
I bought an Asus Chromebook Flip about 18 months ago and was thrilled to see in the Chrome OS 79 update that custom keyboards were better supported and rushed to download and activate the Swiftkey app in the Play Store.
It didn't work very well, but I thought nevermind, it's early days, it will probably be fixed soon.
I have since updated to Chrome OS 81.0.4044.94 and have version 220.127.116.11 of Swiftkey installed, but the problems are worse. The keyboard appears and the predictions seem to function, but the text doesn't appear in the relevant field, and when I close the keyboard manually, only the first few letters that I tried to type appear, repeated several times.
For example : "This is a test" - using physical keyboard in laptop mode
For example : "This is" s ais testis:isis3" - using Switfkey in tablet mode (but no text appears until I close the keyboard)
Does anyone have similar experience or advice on how to fix this problem? Shall I just wait for a few more updates to see if compatability improves? Is it perhaps linked to my device? Does Swiftkey plan to better integrate the app with Chrome OS? I seem to remember there being a separate Swiftkey Tablet app when I first had a tablet about 8 years ago, but can't seem to find it any more, does it still exist and would this be better adapted?
Many thanks in advance for any help offered! :)
