Long time SK user that joined just to echo the masses. I refer so many people to SK. My typing has slowed tremendously, with many more errors. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this feature optional. It has 100%ruined SK for me and I am beginning the hunt for a replacement now.

Bug found: swipe a word, eg hello. Tap space. Double spaces are now inserted. I have to backspace all the time now. This will make SwiftKey go out the window on my account. Please make the new feature optional, I was way faster swiping before the update.

Put me on the list as not being happy with the Latest SwiftKey update. I don't like that it doesn't automatically put a space after each word. It's slowed me down and it's awkward. I chose SwiftKey because I didn't like the previous app I used didn't add the space. Please bring it back! Thank you.

Add me to the list of people that hate this change!

Honestly, I can't deal with it. It's really confusing, and much much slower.

I have had to revert to Gboard... will switch back when I see an update pushed through the play store to check if it's been fixed.

Can you tell me which build number this was added in, so I can get a previous build from APKMirror?

    @Kenneth Brian Lambert
    Quit being a personal prick.
    1. This post started attracting team's attention only with sensible comments like Gaurav's and Rainydays's. They seem like long time SwiftKey Beta users and very practical.

    2. Only because of these beta testers is the quality of swiftkey still commendable, the following incidents should make this clear:
             a. The data leak. A few months back swiftkey had mixed user typing data. It was the time when Microsoft had just acquired swiftkey. And that very period I had quit using swiftkey.
             b. This type of flow is not the first time with swiftkey, in few earlier releases swiftkey has experimented with this correction centered flow and mind me, it was the PLAY STORE review of beta users that had made the devs revert to the sensible autospaced flow.
             c. Sudden disappearance of the paid but beautiful themes definitely looks fishy.

    3. The new users are expected to like this new flow, because... Hey they are NEW users and bound to make more typing mistakes, so corrections is their candy.

    4. The year /s long users have taught their respective keyboards so much, that it would be a pain switching to other keyboards. And sticking to this flow would be a drag.

This is called practical, action, far from over dramatic. This post wanted active honest reviews or just chat?

I just moved back to swiftkey a month back from swype, and I am reverting to it since this intelligent page is going unheeded.

I strongly feel Microsoft is going to further screw swiftkey for us.

    Good luck users.

If there was a prior APK posted somewhere that doesn't have this new Flow functionality, I'd install it in a heartbeat.

@Frank Gore - APKMirror will have it, but just don't know how far to go back.

Please do not post any links to any APKs. Any comments that do so will be deleted.

This is for security reasons. We advice you only to download SwiftKey from the Google Play Store.

Ryan P, do we have any new information from product team?

As a customer who paid for this app, can we expect an on/off button to give us back the auto space after flowing?

I will be looking for another keyboard if there's no way to switch this feature off. Basically what you're saying is that your predictions are so bad that it's more likely people are going to want to pick a different predictions than move on to the next word. The Amazon Fire keyboard works this way, and I always was frustrated using it.

Edit: I hadn't realized that SwiftKey had been bought by Microsoft. I guess that explains the utter disregard for current users.

    @Chris
Woohoo, thanks for that! Installing SwiftKey Keyboard (not Beta) 6.5.3.35 from February fixed all my issues! I had to choose the arm64 version for Android 6.0+ for my HTC 10, and I had to make sure the current SwiftKey was uninstalled (Android typically won't let you downgrade a package and will give a cryptic "corrupted package" error if you try). Then I blocked auto-updates for SwiftKey. Now my keyboard is back to its normal self.

    @SwiftKey Developers
Shame on all of you for forcing a completely different, buggy implementation of Flow WITHOUT EVEN ADVISING ANYONE!!! I'll never trust you again! My 1-star review will stay there until you fix this in a future version. I noticed your rating on the Play Store is dropping, from 4.7 yesterday to 4.5 today. Here's hoping it drops to below 4 stars soon and you see the error of your ways.

@Raphael and @Carl thank you for this feedback and sorry that you are having an uncomfortable experience.

I can definitely empathize with being used to a certain typing experience on the phone and when it changes feeling lost.

We will absolutely share this feedback with our team.

I left a review on the play store stating that this update is absolutely horrible. This was their response. "Hi there. A new flow feature is added with the latest update. Three predictions are shown in the prediction bar after flow typing. Without choosing a word, you can keep flowing next word." I edited my review to state that the update does not work that way at all, but I'm not sure they'll see my response so I'll put it here.

The update does not give you predictions. It gives you 3 auto correct options, not predictions. I get one prediction maybe 5% of the time. The prediction comes across as the original word plus a prediction word. This is blended in with 2 other auto corrects for the same word, not 2 other predictions. The way the app originally worked was giving you 3 predictions, and you could backspace the cursor next to the word to get auto corrections. This makes so much more sense. You could either choose to correct your word or predict a new word. Now you have no choice. You can't decide on predictions because you don't get predictions. You just get auto corrects. This is so completely inefficient as to make the app unusable.

For the past few days I've been struggling with the predictions using SwiftKey. Looks like I'm not alone and that my issues are due to the newly changed flow feature. For me, it's most evident when using chrome. I'm used to entering words in the address bar to search. However every time I try, the first word is inevitably autocorrected to "I". Every time. This is so frustrating and clearly not a time-saver if I have to continually go back to correct words. I also miss the predictive next word. All in all, I'm not a fan of the change and would like the option to turn it off

Such a non responsive thread. Developers what are the users saying and what are you replying.
For God's sake maintain your unique flow, I uninstalled within 10 minutes of use, both Swiftkey and the beta.
How is the flow different from swype or gboard?
Btw guys, I feel better than suggesting these people, join swype and ask them for the auto spaced flow.
They are far more positively responsive.
Bye bye Swiftkey, never coming back.

Jia, I do feel friends with you all:-)

And I'm definitely coming back as and when I find a better flowing keyboard :-)

I have to say that I simply hate this feature. I no longer get predictions, rather I have options to accept the suggested word, choose one other suggested word, or choose the first suggested word and one next word prediction. I prefer the old way in which it gave me three next-word predictions. If the entered word was wrong, I could just backup and see alternatives.

I don't plan to keep using it if this is how it's going to keep working. I'll be changing over to Google's keyboard until it's fixed. I hope SwiftKey is taking us seriously when we say we don't like it, and give us an option to disable the new feature.

This has significantly slowed down my typing experience. I understand the concept, but I would rather have an option to toggle this on and off.

@Josh @Ryan The mention of the new flow functionality just disappeared from the Swiftkey stable changelog.

Did you roll it back due to user backlash? Why did it go away?

Please make this an new way an option that can be turned off or go back to the way it was. Predictions are horrible now. It doesn't put a space after I flow a word. Now, if I make the next word capitalized or all caps, it changes the word I just finished. I used to click "L" & it would predict "love you." It doesn't anymore. If I go to my browser, no matter what word I flow to search in address bar, it automatically changes it to "I" and doesn't have the word I flowed even as an option. It takes more than twice as long to type. I've been using SwiftKey Flow for years. This is the 1st time I've had problems. I rarely click words in prediction bar that I've flowed. I rarely don't use flow. Please let us go back. I don't have the beta version. Please help!

I Love this update! I'm exclusively a flow typer and have always had difficulty with SwiftKey not predicting words as accurately As GBoard. I hated having to constantly backspace to correct words. Now I'm able to correct words more quickly, and can still get to predictions by tapping the correct word in the prediction bar. The best of both worlds for me.

This new flow feature has slowed me down immensely. I can't stand it. It needs to be made optional. I've used SwiftKey for several years and liked that it predicted my next words. This just made a great app functionally useless. Bad decision on your part to make this the new SwiftKey.

Like many others I hate this new feature, it really slows me down.

I'm sorry but I cannot understand how you could implement a change that affects every user without knowing how they will react, and you didn't put any option to keep the old behaviour ? IMHO this was a big mistake and for sure a lot of users will change their keyboard, including me if an update is not released very soon...

They may don't want anyone to know this shity "feature" is there. It's not listed in the Playstore's what's new. I changed my review from 5 stars to 2 and there it will stay until this gets rolled back or made optional. I may even look for an alternative keyboard. With three pages of users saying this feature is terrible, you might want to look at undoing this change.

Oh it was listed in the "What's New" text for a while, it's just since been removed. And whenever someone posts a negative review, there's a copy/pasted reply by the SwiftKey team that gives a horribly twisted description of the new feature. It's downright insulting.

However, the 1- and 2-star reviews have been pouring in. It's very satisfying to see SwiftKey get what they deserve for handling the situation in this way.

Meanwhile, I'm perfectly happy with my downgraded version of SwiftKey Keyboard from last month.

@Chris @Frank No, it's so that we can accurately update it with the right information. If it started rolling out and then got halted, we'd like to know about it.

Personally, I don't use Flow because I can type faster and I rely on the erase gesture instead, so I have no opinion about whether this change is good or bad. But I can see many people are used to their ways and don't like it.

It didn't get halted. I just updated SwiftKey Keyboard on the Play Store this morning after the "What's New" text no longer mentioned the modified Flow, and the new Flow functionality reared its ugly head again. I then uninstalled it and re-installed the APK from last month, and Flow functionality went back to the old method.
