I experience the same issue. It is truly inconvenient that the bilingual typing feature is removed from Chinese (cangie Hong Kong) keyboard. I tested it in the most recent beta release and found the same issue. Appreciate if the development team can put it back soon. Thanks.

I've already reported his problem to the swiftkey support people. She replied me that we are supposed to be able to input both Chinese and English when we are using the qwerty keyboard. She suggests me to uninstall and have a fresh install of the swiftkey app again. Done that, but the problem still persists. I've contacted swiftkey support again, hope this problem can be solved asap.

Just heard back from the support team. Reply says that the feature of typing Chinese with the English keyboard is not available at the moment. But we can type English with the Chinese keyboard. Hope they'd bring this feature back asap.

Thanks for following up with this issue and keeping us posted.

I don’t think either method is working now, as I just try it. Certainly, it is less likely to type English on Chinese keyboard. As you mentioned in the original post, users will want to type a few Chinese words without switching keyboards.

Typing multi languages over the same keyboard is one of the Swiftkey’s features that surpasses its competitor. It is disappointing that it fails to work for English / Chinese typing.
