What happened to auto space after a period / punctuation?

I just updated today and auto space after a period is gone and it's killing me.

Jeffrey, I understand what you mean. You're probably right. But...
The Note 8 screen resolution is absolutely the same as Note 5, Note 7 (RIP), S8...
And that ticket answers from support were ABSOLUTELY copy and paste for everybody who were complaining. All Note 8 forum threads concerning keyboard size talked about this "automatic" answers. Everybody received that same copied and pasted answer after 1/2 months only.
The Note 5 and 7 were 400px lower than the 8 in the vertical dimension; 2560 vs the Note 8's 2960. That would have a pretty dramatic impact on keyboard sizing.
And my communication with Matt @ SwiftKey didn't include a copy/pasted response. We had a bit of back-and-forth where he hinted that they were looking for a more universal solution. In the end, they came out with something that looks great, but screwed up something else in the same release :(
@Justin, you're using the standard app (latest version = 6.7.3.30), which still auto spaces after a period. The problem is happening with the Beta version, 6.7.4.24. As a workaround, I uninstalled the Beta version and installed the standard version, the one you're using.
I for one am fine if the developers choose to make "no space after punctuation" the default setting based on user data but I would REALLY HOPE that they would allow us to change it in the settings if it's our preference. Which it is definitely my preference.
I'm also find it a little surprising and frustrating that they don't at least offer a "punctuation/space" in the suggestion bar. For example if I type "bar.for" then wouldn't the most logical suggestion be "bar. For"?
Installed SwiftKey 6.7.4.31 (stable, not beta) on a new Pixel 2 and was baffled why the period doesn't trigger the middle autocomplete and a space afterwards. Even more strange that commas, exclamations and question marks work as before.
Interestingly I just checked my Nexus 5X running Android 8.1 which has had the very same SwiftKey 6.7.4.31 installed for quite some time. Here the period sign works as intended, triggering autocomplete and space afterwards.

@Viniciusrsouza,
Well ... not quite :)

Also happening to me, with this configuration:
Mobile phone = Motorola Moto E 2nd edition
Android = 6.0
SwiftKey = Beta 6.7.4.24
Mine still auto spaces after a period.
6.7.3.30

Ahhh. Well, hopefully they realize that's a stupid feature and don't bring it into production.

Hope this is a bug and not a feature.

what's the last version in which adding a period would insert the prediction followed by a period and a space?
I am now on 6.7.6.20 and all seems to be back to normal.
