[Feature Request] Make [Shift] change all keys *exactly* as a standard QWERTY keyboard
This drives me crazy... have to search for symbols because they are above letters as long-press, instead of as alternate characters for the number keys when I tap [shift] (the large up arrow key).
Many people rely on memory of standard QWERT keyboard layout.
I even sometimes use key patterns for passwords instead of remembering the actual characters.
Please provide option(s) that allow the behavior of keys to match standard QWERTY keyboard as much as possible.
Also other standard keyboards that other people might be familiar with should similarly be supported.
The number keys are wasted on the Swiftkey keyboard, with neither [Shift] nor [long press] having any effect. Both should do something other than the numbers.
That's 20 possible characters, emojis, or anything else, that could eliminate to need to tap additional keys to bring up alternate keyboards or selection screens.
I realize that there may not be room (depending on screen size and orientation) for keys like tilde-backquote, underscore-dash, equals-plus... but that is where long-press can help. BUT when the screen is in portrait mode or simply larger... then please show a more of or a full qwerty layout.
If nothing else, stop wasting those number keys!
