[Privacy Concern] SwiftKey accessing passwords and other clipboard data
Hello,
I noticed a couple notifications in iOS 14 about SwiftKey accessing my clipboard that I can't comprehend. It appears to happen sometimes after beginning to edit a textfield in a 3rd party app but also apparently randomly while browsing 3rd party apps.
I find this especially concerning when it happens after copying a password in a password manager. But also in other contexts it should be comprehensible ofc.
Why does this happen?
Hi Johannes,
Sorry for the delayed reply here.
Microsoft SwiftKey is designed never to learn from or predict what you enter in a password field.
Starting from iOS 14, Apple's operating system will inform you every time an app checks for new clipboard content. Please be rest assured that SwiftKey does not have access to your passwords, nor will it copy any data from password fields.
