Microsoft SwiftKey iOS Support Forums

 I used an Android Nexus 5 for many years with swiftkey. I really liked the keyboard layout with the numbers on top row and symbols among the letters, where you press a bit longer to get the number or symbol. 

I switched to an iPhone and immediately put swiftkey on thinking it would be the same, but no. The numbers and symbols are hidden in another keyboard. I hate this. I always end up hunting for a symbol I'm looking for.

The Android way is just so much more intuitive. Is there some setting on iOS/swiftkey that gives the Android type keyboard? I went thru all the settings but couldn't find anything.

I have been a long time user of SwiftKey on Android and I was very happy with it, now I switched for iOS and I would like to keep my habits as SwiftKey. Unfortunately on iOS is slow when starting up and sometimes the predictions do not appears at all. I decided to give up and use the iOS keyboard instead

Is there a way to get Swiftkey to function when using Teams / Edge on IOS?  I am able to use SwiftKey for nearly everything else and it is my default keyboard.  Seems odd that  it doesn't work within another Microsoft product but does elsewhere else.

Lately the keyboard is acting up very often. The following three things have been happening on and off during the last month.

It keeps closing and reopening as I type.

It changes to the regular keyboard making me choose SwiftKey after every word or two.

It is not smooth - after I begin typing a word it gives choices of another word but then resumes the current word.

Any ideas?

Despite installing the keyboard and adding it in settings, so its there. On the Mail app, the swiftkey keyboard isn't there as an option

Do I have to delete and reinstall swiftkey to reset the keyboard map?

 it's worked fine for over a year before this.

i click on the words in the left box...it does not help

i did notice it wants to sync to my email and facebook, which i don't type the way i text...but i didn't seem to have a choice in that matter.

any suggestions?

Using the 3D Touch cursor in the DayOne app doesn't really work: the cursor disappears (who makes it useless) or is very slow. Whzt happens is that SwiftKey wastes time trying to predict or correct for each movement of the cursor, instead of switching this off during movement.

Another big problem is with the text entry on boardgamegeek.com, when adding a game to one's collection (requires registration): the web widget used reacts badly to SwiftKey's corrections, with a tendency to swap a word and the space that precedes it. More generally SwiftKey is confused about where it is in the text: it shows an incorrect word context (that does not represent the actual position of the cursor but something close instead). My guess is that this has something to do with registering the cursor position correctly, even when it moves or deletes characters.

Recently Swiftkey has started behaving strangely. At first I thought it was just a case of 'auto space' being turned off somehow (although I didn't do that) - but then (after totally failing to find any way to turn auto space on or off - despite following multiple online instructions) I realised it's worse than that.

When I type or flow several words, swiftkey will randomly remove the spaces between them - even if I manually typed those spaces!? Not always, but often enough that I look like a barely literate typer - and this makes the tool completely unusable. I've had to go back to the - totally unintuitive - iOS keyboard.

Can someone please tell me what's going on, and - more importantly - how to get back to the usual Swiftkey operation that I have come to depend on?

I cannot get to my swiftkey data on iOS and neither into my data on windows.

When I go to "view and manage your data" from my account (which is a Microsoft account), I get to the page data.swiftkey.com on my iPhone's browser (Safari, but I also tried Edge with the same result). Then I am asked to sign in, but I consequently get the following message:

Whatever I try, I cannot get in and stay in this same loop.

I use an iPhone 12, with iOS 14.6 and Swiftkey version 2.9.1

i just switched from Android to iOS and the iOS Stock Keyboard is horrible. I've been using Swiftkey for years (also bought it long time ago) and the usability on Android is awesome :)

When i decided to switch to iOS I was glad to know that swiftkey is available for iOS as well. Sadly the User Experience on iOS is very poor in comparison to your Android Version.

If you could implement the following things, it would make the user experience a lot better:

• Special Characters as second Option for normal characters (best would be the same order as on android)
• seperate comma key
• enhanced QWERTZ Layout with dedicated umlaut keys (öäü)
• Adjustment of longpress duration
• 3D Touch for removel of whole words
• cursor selection through long press on space key

And I would REALLY Love to have the "Classic Dark" Theme back. I found it very helpfull that not every key has its own border, but the keyboard layout is kind of rastered.

Please think about the mentioned things. I am sure many people would love it!

When is the accuracy of flow going to get addressed, or even just the ability to reset the tap map?
It's been months and the accuracy is still totally horrific. It is and had been for a long time slightly better when you freshly Install, and the tap map hadn't adjusted the keys to help with accuracy. After a little use and the keys get "adjusted" and you are fighting against the AI that's trying to make things better. This has totally been a huge problem, but it seems to get over looked. As said before reinstalling helps with accuracy, but reinstalling and having to reteach your dictionary and all is not that great of an option,
Will accuracy ever improve?

Dear Admin/Mod/Developers,

There are other posts about this which were months old, but I feel that I have to voice out again.

I was on an android phone until recently, and I had been using SwiftKey on android (English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese). I just switched to iOS recently and was taken aback that foreign languages such as Korean, Chinese and Japanese are not available here..

Can the community be given some sort of updates on whether there is a team working on adding these new languages in the roadmap?

SwiftKey is the best keyboard out there for me and I am currently struggling with stock keyboards. I hope at the very least Korean keyboard can be added soon.

Edit: I would definitely be more than glad to pay for your keyboard even if you add Korean keyboard as a premium feature

If I am inputting a word and predictive test thinks it's a formal name and capitalizes it, if I go back to correct the prediction it will insist on keeping the first letter of whatever word I put in to replace it an uppercase letter. I have to go back and shift it back down to lowercase manually. If autocorrect inserts a caps shift, it should also remove it when corrected.

In iOS default arabic keyboard we've two layouts: Arabic and Arabic PC
(Arabic PC is like the layout of an Arabic keyboard on windows)
So please support it because I'm used to it.

How do I get a rid of letters that I don't need for my language?

See the screenshot - for Czech language I only need - e, é and ě. Need to hide the others.

By the way - the new design is just ugly. Look how unproportional the pop-up letters are. Can't even look at it.

Downloaded the new update today for iOS and saw that 68 new languages were introduced, but lo and behold, NO ESTONIAN KEYBOARD. Come on, Android has one, how come iOS doesn't? It's about time.

this keyboard its very good but please add one hand keyboard in the SwiftKey

I'm a fan from my Android days, and I absolutely LOVE having SwiftKey on my iPhone now. However, I'm a big user of custom keyboard shortcuts in iOS. I can't seem to get them to work with the SwiftKey keyboard, though. Anyone else have this trouble? Is it just a native iOS limitation?

My lock screen passcode was îop ok? I got iOS 8 and the swift key keyboard only to find that the'î' character doesn't work on the lock screen. So I have effectively locked myself out of my own phone. HELP!

am using swiftkey on an iphone Xs max and the keyboard (layout with numbers on top) keeps jumping / moving up and down randomly. tried reinstalling and installing but still the same. anyone encountered this issue if yes kindly advise...thanks

I'm running into a weird issue with SwiftKey voice to text on iOS (version 2.8): every time i pause momentarily it adds a period '.' as though it think i finished a sentence. I speak pretty quickly and my paragraphs are just filled with short sentences and periods. It also occasionally puts up question marks when its not a question. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a way i can disable auto punctuation on voice to text?

Swiftkey, while being a superb app (using both on iOS and Android), does not support my native Armenian on iOS and the keyboard layout options on Android are quite limited.

The major keyboard layouts for Armenian language are Armenian Eastern, Armenian Western and Armenian Phonetic.

Remove prediction does not seem to do what it's meant to do. It will forget the word but if you keep writing it explicitly then it will relearn it and predict it again.

This is very frustrating ...

Every keyboard on all computers has a distinct number row above the letters!! What a concept!! And WHY would it be so hard to find one for an iPhone? I am an Android user with a rooted phone. I LOVE Swiftkey, so downloaded it on my new work phone, my VERY FIRST iPhone. NO number row, no cursors. I sent emails to Swiftkey, but still no number row. So thanks for suggesting Touch Pal. Still not Swiftkey, but at least I can just slide to get the numbers I need. I want it MY way!!

I don't understand how to enable Haptic feedback in SwiftKey. The support article says

Opening the emoji panel, long-pressing the emoji/globe key, 
and activating the 'emoji bomb' will all trigger small vibrations.

But i don't see an "Emoji Bomb" in the emoji panel.
