The symbols (text you get when long-pressing a letter) on the Arabic keyboard is absolutely atrocious. I do not mean to be rude, but I have never experienced such a bad layout in any keyboard that I have tried (Xperia, Gboard, Go Keyboard, iOS keyboard, etc.) and I am shocked that a keyboard that is so well known such as Swiftkey is actually using this. Did you just decide to randomize symbols for the Arabic keyboard?

Examples:

• Long-pressing ب (B) should give you پ (P), yet on swiftkey it shows "&" which is not even a recognized symbol in Arabic.
• Pressing ي gives ى, but not ئ. That is on the ذ for some reason.
• Looking for كَـ (G)? Well it is not on ک (K), that'll be on ط which does not make any sense at all.
• Long-pressing the top row of letters, while having the number row toggled on, still gives you numbers! That is not the case for the English keyboard.
• There is even a key dedicated specifically to semicolon... why waste space on this, especially that Arabic is less focused than English on such grammar meanwhile some commonly-used letters are not present

I really hope that you guys pay attention to this as Swiftkey has become the default keyboard on many devices in the Middle East (Xperia, Huawei, and maybe some more). The first thing my father and friends tell me when they use their keyboard is that they want to find a better keyboard (most of them use Arabic only).

I love this keyboard in English. It has the best prediction and auto-correct, but the Arabic keyboard sucks. All of this would be solved by using PC Arabic, but the keys are too narrow which makes them hard to press.

I have just started using Swiftkey.

I have disabled Auto-correct as I do not like auto-correct with any keyboard/smartphone.

However, even with Auto-correct disabled, Swiftkey insists on deleting the space I put between a word and a question mark, as in  "why is that ?"

Anyway of disabling this behaviour - this is extremely annoying ?

Disabling auto-correct should be  total  as in no auto-correct of any sort whatsoever !

SwiftKey speichert leider fast alle Wortlaute, auch wenn man versehentlich zu hastig geschrieben und sich somit vertippt hat! Wie kann ich diese Funktion deaktivieren? Ich möchte gerne (per Klick) selbst entscheiden welche Worte ich speichere und welche nicht.
Ich hoffe, dass mir jemand helfen kann. Danke im Voraus.. Gruß Linda

Hi. I've been a very happy Swiftkey user for several years now, first on various Nexus cell phones and a Nexus 10 tablet, and now on a Pixel phone and Samsung A (10") tablet. And therein lies the problem.

I need to set the button on the other side becoz while. Typing there r lots of dots come in between my. Typing...
For example...
Normal typing... I m a boy named Aniket Varshney
Issue typing.... I. m. a. Boy. Named. Aniket varshney
So dots in between the letter come in between while typing

Hello. Lately I started having an issue. I type a mistake. Middle suggestion show what I need. I tap it, but a different word than was suggested gets inserting. Very annoying, and started happening only lately.

I'll try to provide all the information required.

Device: Sony Z5 Compact
Android version: 7.1.1
Swiftkey version: 6.7.1.34
Steps to reproduce:

don't know how to tell, because happens randomly. Sometimes correct word gets inserted, and sometimes same word but different ending. 

Whenever I begin a new Swiftkey session, there is no click sound until I press the SECOND letter.

Recently, I discovered the option of deleting something by swiping to the left. That gave me the idea of introducing a feature where if you swipe to the right it recovers the last word you deleted. This would help if you deleted something accidentally.

Could I please get some help with troubleshooting or tuning up SwiftKey?

Ever since the Android Nougat update, and even after I completely wiped the phone and reinstalled the OS, SwiftKey has been really laggy.

There are two kinds of lag:

• A 2-5 second wait for the keyboard to appear onscreen
  
  
• Lags when I'm typing and the whole phone freezes, then a few seconds later, all the keystrokes I've entered in SwiftKey are entered onscreen.

These lags only occur when SwiftKey is active.

The lags went away after the phone wipe but lately they have recurred. They occur even after I restart the phone.

Hope someone can help, or suggest an alternative keyboard app ;-)

I changed from regular version to beta a long time ago because it would ship a letter and after I added a few letters, it would then add it after my cursor while I'm typing the next word.
Now I have both versions doing it.
ie: today iwednesdays

I want to try to make that little dot at the bottom of the cursor, that you can press and hold and then move left to right or up or down or whatever. Basically instead of having to just click or guess where the cursor is it's the little.......I don't freaking know what to call it.....THE LIL HELPY HELPERTON DOT BELOW THE CURSOR, SO YOU CAN MOVE THE CURSOR!!!!! (Sorry.....long day)..... anyways it would be very helpful if I could make that little dot BIGGER so that I'm able to move the cursor around easier. Thank you very much

SwiftKey shlumd have text cursor control like Samsung and Google keyboards have.

Hi team,
I'm using SwiftKey in Hebrew and for dive reason when using brackets it's acting as if it's a left to right language and not the opposite. So it will put the opening bracket right after the previous word instead of putting a space in between and will add a space before the closing bracket.
I guess it happens in all right to left languages.
For example -
הנה יש כאן )הדגמה מוזרה(

Is it possible to get the old t9 keyboard without downloading some other app?

I really like using SwiftKey, but I'm much faster when writing on t9. 😊

I've got an annoying issue sometimes if I start a sentence with words with apostrophes like "We'd," where swiftkey will not type it after selecting it in the selection bar and just delete it instead. Does anyone know if I'm doing anything wrong?

Keyboard sensitivity becomes increasingly erratic as you type along. There seems to be some relationship between the key-touch sensitivity and your typing speed, when using the gesture method. At the same time, it gets progressively worse at predicting words for you, until you clear all keyboard data. That will reset it, and get it to become less erratic and less sensitive, but, for a few minutes, only. This is a particularly sad situation for me, because, otherwise, this is the best keyboard - with the most, general functionality - I've ever used!

Many times repeated long brakes for prediction reload doesn't lead to increased typing speed. A little larger text insertion needs very long time. Much updates but nothing improving that although not bad.

How can I change the default gender of the text prediction emojis? I.e. The gender of the suggested emoji is always male, how do I change that to female?

You are doing great work on the SwiftKey keyboard app day by day. I think it is one of the best keyboard for mobile. It has great features. Recently a new feature is available in the app that is customizable themes. But we can't change the color of the letter of the keyboard. And that's why we can't use white or light backgrounded pictures to customize the keyboard. I hope the developers team add the feature that we can change the color of the letter as our wish.

Please advise if I can exclude numbers from auto-complete. I simply can't understand why SwiftKey autocorrects and inserts numbers I typed before. Numbers are never ever repeated and lots of time it "corrects" typed digits to something else in its memory.

Second question: is it possible to exclude from autocomplete wild cat words? Like anything starting with IHR* will not be autocomplete. Sample: I type IHR1 - SwiftKey remembers. Then I type IHR4 and SwiftKey autocorrects it to IHR1. I need anything that starts from IHR not to be corrected.

Hi all, I recently got an LG G6 and installed SwiftKey on it. I had SwiftKey on my previous phone (G2) and loved it--never had any problems. However, now whenever I type an emoticon into a text message, it automatically turns into an emoji. To be more clear, I am not talking about emoji predictions. I mean, if I type :), it stays as symbols in the typing field, but it turns into a smiley face ☺️ in the actual message. I have searched through both the Android settings and SwiftKey settings and haven't found a solution. I am running SwiftKey 6.7.0.18 and Android 7.0 Nougat.

Soon after I updated my android to 7.0 Swiftkey stopped auto hiding when I scroll down the task bar or when I lock the phone while the keyboard is on.
