    Hello,

The portrait mode or lanscape depends on your screen orientation.

What are the languages you use in SwiftKey? Because T-9 is for some specific languages only.

Thank you for your Quick reply.... I use only English... I am referring to 3*4 portrait phone pad with dictionary enabled.... I am using xiaomi Mi note 4 handset....

Unfortunately T-9 is not available for English because it's too old method and it won't give us the best typing experience.

I'm a little confused...I think all the phone is normally portrait by default? Mi note is equally portrait, no?

    Hi
I am sure some people still prefer the old keyboard... I am referring to the compact keyboard....

    Hi Vani,

    Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your response. How will I get to know that this feature is introduced?
    Regards,

Just out of curiosity... how long do you think it would take?

A feature request does not mean we immediately build a feature. We take into account the most requested features asked overall.

So no time frame can be given at this time. We do not get many requests for this layout.

Out of curiosity, why do you like this layout so much? It's a very old style layout and generally hardly used.

I'm interested in this type of layout too but in swedish. So much easier to write With one hand.

I like the T9 layout because it's very compact and there's a highly reduced chance of hiring the wrong key while speed typing. After all. There are only nine keys to press.

Additionally, I have the feeling that swiping with a T9 keyboard will be much faster than a QWERTY one for the simple fact that there are fewer stop points.

I also prefer the t9 in Portuguese. Like the one in smart Keyboard pro.

Hi Ryan, I have spent about 2 hours installing and uninstalling various keyboards on my Sony Xperia E5 as it doesn't have a T9 option.  I can't handle the qwerty keyboard on a small phone screen - it is just not efficient.  On my Samsung J5 (smashed screen and vodafone wanted a 50% hike in monthly contract charges hence buying Xperia) I could have T9 and use swype too.  Now I am looking to install that functionality on this new phone.

I would be willing to pay for an app that gave me both T9 and swipe.  I am using Smart Keyboard Pro at the moment and know that Perfect Keyboard is supposed to be T9 but I couldn't get it to do that on my phone.

I do hope you will consider implementing this functionality.

    Best wishes,

    Carol

I cannot stress how important a good t9 keyboard is to me. I have poor dexterity which makes using QWERTY keyboards near impossible.

I have bought and swiftkey and would do anything to have its prediction but alas it does not support the layout I need so I use go keyboard instead.

Hi Milton I have bought GO keyboard but it doesn't have T9. How do you cope with it? 😊 I am just about managing... Using two hands. Carol

    Hi Carol

There are 2 versions of go keyboard and it sounds like you have the pro.

The link to the android version with t9 functionality is:http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.emoji.gokeyboard

    I hope this helps.

Thank you Milton!  Yes I do have Pro.  I think that I kept the qwerty as one can swipe on it and one can't on the T9.  I really want a T9 swipe with prediction but this seems like asking for the moon.  Sadly the developer for Swiftkey hasn't been answering these comments.  I'll have to learn to program apps myself!

Hey Carol the version of go keyboard at the link posted earlier does have T9 and predictive text at the same time. It's very good however swiftkey is in another league again.

Thanks Milton, would you recommend Swiftkey then?  I'm just hoping for swipe and T9 from somewhere but as I can't get that I'd like the best keyboard.  Go seems to use a lot of battery but I've now turned off the 'turning words into gifs' or emojis or something (can't remember) and that seems to have saved some battery life.

I did try Smart Keyboard Pro https://www.dexilog.com/smartkeyboard/en/ (the site has a link to the play store install). I found it very good and simply don't use it because I prefer go's layout. I would recommend swift over both if it would provide all it's features in a T9 configuration but I cannot recommend something I don't use. I hope that helps Carol!

I too really need T9 keyboard. I've had 4 Xperia phones so far and this is the only one that didn't have the option to switch to T9. I had tried installing Sony default keyboard from the google store, it was pretty much perfect on my old phone Xperia M2 (I use two languages every day, with that keyboard I didn't even have to press anything in order to switch languages, the keyboard would automatically detect which language I was using at the moment and suggest words in that language.), but as it turns out it's not compatible with my current phone (Xperia XA). The default keyboard on that phone is Swiftkey, I had thought for a keyboard this popular, surely it must have the T9 option. And yet. As someone with memory problems, I can't afford to constantly stop to fix many typos that I make on phone version of qwerty, and lose my train of thought in the process.

The Go keyboard (not pro) will do T9 Anna but won't swipe.  See link that Milton added above.  I know what you mean about trains of thought with qwerty!

Thanks a ton Vani P for raising the T9 dictionary / keyboard feature request to Swift Keyboard Technical Team.

Thanks a ton to all - Vani GS, Milton, Carol for providing the web links of T9 dictionary / feature phone keyboards. I was literally bleeding my finger (and eyes ) using QWERTY until now.

I could not locate the T9 keyboard apps with various search keywords on Google play store since quite some time.
My previous LG G* Phone supported T9 ably in addition to QWERTY. Typing with single finger using T9 was like a breeze. I had to change my phone to Xiaomi (for 4G)which recommends swiftkey keyboard.
I even installed the ported LG G3 keyboard app on Xiaomi provided thru the Xiaomi community, unfortunately it kept crashing and with new version upgrade, it stopped working.
I much appreciate many users who keep crunching using both their thumbs on QWERTY so effortlessly in a limited estate space ! I give up.
It will be very helpful to lot many users if Swiftkey product team can include support for T9 aka feature phone keyboard. Cheers.

Just wanted to add a vote for t9 keyboard. Because, when i type, i like my keys to be a little bigger than an atom. I like to not miss about 30% of keys. I found a solution,i will try to post it here, but if they don't approve that comment, let me know

I understand you want T9 layout, but any link provided here not by moderator or SwiftKey team member is not verified, either the APK file from 3rd party website.

Please note that if malfunction occurred after you followed the unofficial links or installed APK from other website, we won't be responsible.

    Hi Vani GS,

For T9 layout, I will suggest to use GO Keyboard recommended by Milton in his message above. GO keyboard is as good as LG keyboard. The Google play store link is
    http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.emoji.gokeyboard

If you are looking to fix the keyboard crash problem in LG G3 keyboard (which includes T9 layout support) when you port the LG apk file on to your android phone then the links for 3 variant apps are:
    Best regards
