Thanks for the reach-out, Andy. Are you having issues with the spacebar being too short height-wise compared to the other keys, or is the spacebar just not big enough for you in a general sense?

Thank you for your reply, Brandon.

In portrait mode, there is extra clearance at the bottom of the phone that we don't have in landscape mode.

So although the height of spacebar is literally the same as that of the keys above it, in landscape mode my thumb will mostly hit the keys above the spacebar because of the edge of my phone (has a casing bulge) and any of those keys will register instead.

I suggest (only in landscape mode) making the spacebar taller by up to 1.5x than the keys above it will solve this.

That's a very interesting find, Andy. I'll pass along your feedback to the team for further investigation. I can't, of course, say if/when this might be addressed, but I'll certainly keep you informed if it does. Perhaps we may be able to include a toggle of some sort that'll increase it's size by your suggested 1.5x...

In the meantime, could you let me know which phone you are using, which version of Android it's running, and which keyboard height you prefer to use in Landscape mode? Also, if you don't mind, which case are you using on said phone? (This is all to get a feel of how difficult it is to hit the spacebar.)

    That was fast 😀.

    My phones are:

    1) Oneplus One Sandstone running Omnirom 7.1.1 inside a transparent no brand casing

    2) Oppo Find 7 running Omnirom 7.1.1 inside a thick Goospery Brand casing

My preferred keyboard size is smallest for both portrait and landscape mode because I don't want to lose more than half of my screen content.

Everytime both phones are restarted, the thumb layout (I prefer this for landscape) resets back to full.

Thanks for that added info. For what it's worth, I'm sitting comfortably at home in my PJ's. 😂 I'll keep this thread in my bookmarks to come back later if I find anything out. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with—

Oh yeah. As for the other issue, could I have you take a look at this thread and let me know if it's similar to what you're experiencing, even though your specification is "after restarting" your phone? If so, could I have you report there so Ryan can make note that multiple users are experiencing it?

    Hello again Brandon,

After reading the thread you gave me, turns out John was having similar problem (if I understand his typing correctly) with my own.

So now I found out that I don't have to restart the phone, every flip from portrait to landscape resets landscape mode's Thumb Layout into Full Layout.

    Thank you for your help.

Sure thing, Andy. As I said, do let us know if there's anything else we can help with. 👍

Oh man, please do NOT make it larger; every time I go to type an 'n', I bump the space bar - EVERY TIME. An option to change the size BOTH smaller or larger would be fantastic.
