I want to disable all emojis. Help!
RéponduI updated my app and there is a change I do not like. It used to be that you would long press the enter key to get the Emoji menu.
On pages like Facebook and Reddit, whenever I hit the enter key it immediately brings up the Emojis. I have to long press to hit enter.
It is not doing it here. When I hit enter it enters the new line. It seems to be limited to social media. The only other option I have seen is to have a dedicated Emoji key and then it makes other buttons more narrow and when I go to hit the dedicated comma button, it accidentally hits the dedicated emoji button.
I am fine with not having emojis at all. Is there a way to stop it from doing this on social media? It never did before. I love SwiftKey and I've use it since it was a paid app. I'm not liking this, though.
Hello,
First thing as always: please mention:
The dedicate emoji button is one thing, the enter key emoji access is another. I suggest you to toggle on the "emoji access on enter key", so that you would always get enter key instead of emoji key by tapping.

Any way to remove emoji from enter key?
Android 7.1.1
SwiftKey 6.5.5.30
There are so many great keyboard options with SwiftKey. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to completely remove emoji.
There used to be a way to remove emoji from the enter key in advanced settings. I have no interest in access to emoji.Ever. Increasing the hold time on the enter key helps, but it would be nice to never see emoji again.
Thank you,
Lawrence
Hello Lawrence,
Unfortunately it's not possible to do that at this moment. We're facing a huge demanding of emoji support, emoji quick access, and something else related to that.
I am not aware of we had advanced setting for remove emoji on enter key, I'll check with the team to make sure.

Can I add my voice to the plea to 'Disable ALL emoji' please?
I can't stand Emoji, I hate using or reading it and I find it totally useless.I just want to remove it from my system!
Cheers
I will pay for a version of SwiftKey that's emoji-free! I set the delay to the maximum, but the junk still comes up at times.
How difficult can it be to include an option to turn emoji off? Hell, there are so many brilliant things in SwiftKey that must take programmers hours and hours to come up with, surely a simple option like that isn't an issue?
I'm surprised there's no way to disable emoji or hide the emoji access on enter long press.
This would be such a simple feature to add and it's gotten to the point where I have to use another keyboard because I constantly end up opening emoji and having to close to continue typing.
Please add an option to opt out!
Hurrah, another 'no emoji' supporter!
Swiftkey, PLEASE give us the option to disable Emoji completely.
I also would like to eliminate the emoji completely from my keyboard. I really don't understand why that isn't an option. I get it that SwiftKey is probably targeting teenagers and adolescents, but come on...
I agree! Please add a feature to disable emojis completely. I have never used them, but every now and then when using SwiftKey I end up in the emoji menu accidentaly.
I understand that many people use emojis, but I have no interest in them - I just want Swiftkey as a keyboard, with letters, numbers and special characters and whenever I land in the emoji menu it's a waste of time for me to navigate back to what I was actually using.
Please add an option to let users choose to get rid of emojis entirely!
Yes please for the love of God make an option to remove that dam emoji access from the enter key. I'm sick of activating it by accident and have absolutely no interest in swiftkey emoji. I use WhatsApp only and I only switch them on and off when needed. I have no need for a hot key. Fix this and it's 5star for your app!
Hurrah for Steven!
YES, OPTION PLEASE TO VANISH THE EMOJI KEY.
I don't want emojis AT ALL.
My setup:
Android 6.6.4.19 on Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8".
Android 6.6.4.19 on Moto G4 Plus.
On Swiftkey Home/Typing/Keys I have both the "dedicated emoji key" and the "Emoji access on enter key" switched to OFF.
Because I want a very short keypress duration (for extra characters, eg @ and &), I still occasionally get the emoji keyboard on the Moto G, which is long-keypress Enter. But not always, so that's not so bad.
However, on the tablet it is a dedicated key next to the comma, which is really annoying.
See attached screenshots for when I don't quite hit the comma.
Swiftkey, don't blame my typing! The whole point of Swiftkey is to help make my typing better!
Swiftkey 6.6.5.31
Android 6.0.1
Swiftkey has been my favorite keyboard forever. It just boggles my mind that a simple slide to turn off emoji is beyond developers that can program predictive text in numerous languages. I'm actually beginning to dislike Swiftkey...
I'll add my voice to the 'disable emoji' lobby. Don't like them, don't use them, want to be free of accidentally adding them. Please - an opt-out button.
As a years-long SwiftKey user, vocal referrer of the uninitiated, and paid supporter, I want to add my voice to this. The emoji key is -obnoxious-, especially when combined with app drawer hotspots, and SwiftKey's tendency to often exhibit a tiny bit of lag - even though I have it set to not replace the Enter key, the awful emoji interface still pops up with such regularity that I am considering changing to another keyboard. I hope this is implemented soon.
Yeah! Add option to disable emojis please!
As a solution for this case. I tried to enable "dedicated emoji key" in Settings - Keys, and it separated the emojis from the enter key.
Separating the emoji/enter keys really isn't a workable solution. All that does is push other keys aside to add an even easier key to accidentally press and pop up the obnoxious emoji interface.
People are asking for a way to disable emojis. We are only the ones who took the time to express our opinion on SwiftKey's website. There are undoubtedly many others like us who are simply suffering in silence. SwiftKey needs to listen to this important issue and take action to fix it, as it must be an incredibly easy change to make.
SwiftKey probably doesn't even read these pages - hence no reply over the past 5 months. I've actually started using Gboard on my phone and I'm pleasantly surprised with it. I presume I'll eventually migrate my other two Android devices to it as well. Pity as I believe SwiftKey is a great keyboard except for the irritating emoji story.
@Michael Mays: I tried the separate emoji key too, and it's even worse as the comma key became a sliver. Narrowing the space bar and keeping the comma key the same might have worked.
@Roband3650: I've installed Gboard over the weekend and quite like it!
I will change my rating of SwiftKey on the PlayStore.
SwiftKey is acting like Donald Trump. We will decide what's good for you.
How difficult is it to add an option to disable Emoji's?
Obviously this software is targeted to people who would want the Emoji feature because so much has been invested into it but there are users like those of us who have commented here that would really appreciate the ability to continue using SwiftKey without this annoyance.
Please - you don't want to be compared to Trump do you?
Sadly, SwiftKey doesn't read this
@Aliciawest857: I've recommended Gboard to a number of people who use SwiftKey but detest emoji. Some have uninstalled SwiftKey and now only use Gboard. I still have SwiftKey on my tablet, but it's no longer resident on my phone.
@Bobak Moghadam: It must be incredibly simple to include a switch to disable emoji. I only use it on WhatsApp, and then I use the integral emoji, not Swifkey's.
@Peter Strauber: The Trump analogy is brilliant!
Maybe we should follow Trump's example and Tweet about this annoyance!
@Roband3650: I gave up on SwiftKey. Moved on to Gboard and very happy so far. I guess the predictions will improve over time, but the annoyance of emoji is history.
@Roband3650: I even offered to pay for an emoji-free version of SwiftKey. No response means the developer is not interested.Using Gboard now.
I hate the emoji key too. I have an LG V20 and an S8+ with the latest 7.x versions of Android. And the latest SwiftKey. The emoji key is so annoying. I don't want it, ever.
I'm going to try Gboard now. Screw SwiftKey's attitude.
@Thomas - it seems SK doesn't look at this forum, nor does it care. Gboard is now my default keyboard - the predictions are improving every day, so I don't need SK any more.
Roband3650 - unfortunately Gboard doesn't have Japanese, a language that I use, it also doesn't seem to have arrow keys to move around with.

Only person i know that uses the emoji keyboard Is my dad. And that's just to get a chuckle out of me and my ma. Please give us the freedom to remove the cyst that is emoji from our keyboard! Heck I'm not saying have it disabled by default. Just allow us to disable the damn thing if we want to
