Gboard uses language switch key to switch languages, not spacebar (except for long-press to call up the input method panel).
In SwiftKey you have 2 cases:
Only problem is that the automatic language recognition doesn't always work as perfect as you would like. Often words from the different languages get mixed up and for this it would be great to have the option to choose the language manually. So a quick key or option to select:
- one of the installed languages; or
- automatic language recognition.
Weird in my phone I have the qwerty for English and Spanish, and I have the space with a switch language, and the same is in my wife's phone, but she does not have the switch language in the space and she wants it, because the predictions are not that accurate. I have been navigating the options and I can't find a way to set it as my phone...
I agree with Mark van Dongen. I use version 7.0.1.21 and it needs 4 clicks to reach the language menu from the keyboard. I use this to deactivate languages whose predictions get mixed with the language I'm writing at that moment. A quick key would be useful to switch on and off languages.
By the way, do you have the impression that software developed by people speaking English as mother tongue doesn't deal with agility when managing multiple language options?
