I really used the search feature a lot and found it to be extremely convenient. I hope you guys will put the feature back in future updates cuz it's literally the only reason I went out of my way to install SwiftKey onto my new phone. -
For the love of god, fast commas please! Répondu

I have been using SwiftKey on Android for years, switched to iPhone a few days ago. Very unhappy with the ways comma work here. To insert a comma and a space after it, I have to hit the "special symbols" button, then comma, and then the space bar. Alternatively, I have to press and hold the "." key, then move to the comma, then hit space. That is 3 keystrokes, whereas in Android it only took one (you have the comma button on the default keyboard to the left of the space bar, and an empty space is automatically added once you hit it). Likewise, it is also annoying that no space is added after hitting the "." button, however at least this can be fixed by using a double-tap on the space bar to create the dot instead.
I understand SwiftKey is trying to imitate the way the native iOS keyboard works in this regard, but frankly, that setup is just horrible, so please at least give us the option to customize. A comma is a button that is too frequently required not to be on the main keyboard, and in at least 90% of cases, when you type a comma, you want an empty space behind it, so that really should be automatic.

Keeps replacing "I'm" with "I" even with autocorrect turned off. Répondu

I cannot for the life of me get SwiftKey to stop replacing "I'm" with "I". It happens about 50% of the time and makes for some incredibly odd sounding sentences like "hey I going to the store" or "I on my way".
If I just repeatedly flow "I'm" this happens: "I I'm In I I'm I I'm I I'm I I'm I'm" where it alternates between the two, this is after telling it "do not predict I again".
I even turned off autocorrect and it STILL does it.
Device is an AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android 7.0, using SwiftKey Beta 6.6.2.25. Steps to reproduce: try to type (using flow) "I'm".

Chinese in iOS Répondu

I'm learning Chinese and Russian and was very happy with the SwiftKey keyboard on my Android phone as I could easily switch between the two keyboards and found them much easier to use than the native keyboard. However, since moving to an iPhone, I'm really disappointed to find that Chinese is not available in the iOS version of SwiftKey. Is there any reason for this?? Are the plans to enable it??
Many thanks for a Swift response.

New toolbar introduced, how can I hide or disable it? (2020) Répondu

9 commentaires
A new toolbar with many new features has been introduced (https://9to5google.com/2018/03/15/swiftkey-update-toolbar-stickers/). However I don't need it and it disrupts my workflow (buttons present in the text input, like Telegram stickers, are now 1 row more distant from text input).
How can I disable it?
Update:
Thanks for the answers and the interest.
Solution:
You can disable it by pressing the button on the left of all the words prediction, the one that you see in the picture, and it will be hidden. -

Problems with SwiftKey keyboard placement and OnePlus Gesture Navigation Répondu
5 votes
10 commentaires
Hi - I have a OnePlus 7 Pro running Android v10, set up for gesture control. As such, I no longer have any navigation buttons on the bottom of my display.
I am having a big problem with SwiftKey, where the keyboard can't be moved to the bottom of my display:
Aside from losing valuable screen real estate, this causes a lot of SwiftKey failures for me.
For example, If I am trying to type with the space bar, or enter key (or, any of the bottom keys), and accidentally hit just a little bit lower than the bottom row key, SwiftKey registers it as a "close keyboard" event, and I lose whatever I was typing. This is a HUGE pain in the rear!
Please update SwiftKey to allow the keyboard to be located at the bottom of the screen when the user has selected a gesture navigation method. Note that there are multiple manufacturers that have their own version of gesture navigation (like OnePlus), so the solution should be generic enough to detect that any gesture navigation implementation will allow the keyboard to be located at the bottom of the screen.
Thanks!AzJazz

Backspace after using "Flow" Répondu

Hi!
First of all, I'm used to inputting my texts with swype and Samsung stock keyboard, so I was surprised that SwiftKey doesn't offer an option that enables deleting entire words via one short tap on the backspace key after using the "Flow" method. Having to press the backspace continuously or repeatedly everytime "flow" doesn't recognize a word correctly really slows me down a lot, especially as I have more than just English active at the same time.Besides it really doesn't make much sense to delete just a few letters at a time if "flow" didn't recognize the correct word in the first place.
Please do something about this!

[Not a bug] No prediction in Excel cells Répondu

Hi,
i've been using Swiftkey for a long time to edit spreadsheets in Excel for Android. After the last update (21/08 if i'm correct) the prediction words on the upper side of the swiftkey keyboard do not show up!
Before the update the prediction was working flawlessly when i was editing a cell. Did you change that on purpose or is it a bug. I hope it's just a bug because i need the predictions back!
Thank you

Why is a word I delete repeatedly predicted? Répondu
5 votes
12 commentaires
When I type "god" the primary prediction is "God" but 99% of the time I am not evoking the Christian god, I am not using the word as a proper noun. I've deleted this prediction dozens and dozens of times but it's always the primary prediction, and though it does show "god" on the left prediction it means I have to press it to get it to say what I want when I should just be able to hit space and move on. Is there a fix for this?

Why does SwiftKey Cloud want to Read, Send, Delete my Email? Répondu

I want to connect my SwiftKey account with my Google account, but SwiftKey is asking permission to "Read, send, delete, and manage your email." I understand that SwiftKey needs to see what I'm typing in Gmail to analyze my typing patterns, but why does SwiftKey need to "View, manage, and permanently delete your mail in Gmail"?

[Feature Request] Turn off flow trails Répondu

I would like to able to turn off the trail in the flow feature. The trail that follows my finger from one key to the next, at least for me blocks the vision of the keyboard. I've used another keyboard that allows me to turn off the trail. I don't use that other keyboard because SwiftKey is better overall. I think it is best out there.

Unless I am missing it... The long press needs to show both remove and add words to the dictionary
I have experienced many times a desired word is not learned and not added to the dictionary.
Make it easy for me to add.
One paragraph I will type a word, select the autocorrect desired... Next paragraph, same typing of same word... Is not given as a option to select.
And yes app has been reinstalled.

Autocorrect corrects numbers Répondu

Hello. My name is Tim.There was a problem while using the swiftkey keyboard app. In the moments when I use continuous printing, when I move my finger across the screen from letter to letter, if there are some numbers and do not indent from them, the keyboard considers it necessary to correct the numbers. Why does the keyboard do this? This needs to be corrected, since it is unacceptable for the application to understand something in ttsiyars, it cannot be assumed that there is a number 1, then it can be corrected by 2, because it will be better in the opinion of the application. Also, it is unacceptable for the application to memorize a number in addition to new words, and does not offer digital options.Attaching a video confirmation.Thank you.

Bring back the web search tool ASAP Répondu

There's no reason for user experience to remove the web search tool. It was always an elective option, but now we're robbed of that choice. I can see no good reason for this decision, other than greed. Please rethink it. You've unnecessarily disappointed and baffled a lot of your users. -
iOS 14.4 - iPhoneXR SwiftKey not working Répondu

Phone Model - iPhone XR
Version iOS 14.4
Key Issue: After upgrading from 14.3 to 14.4, SwiftKey fails to work on any application (Microsoft Office 365 mobile applications, WhatsApp, native text messaging, etc.) even when it is the default keyboard. I've deleted and reinstalled the application, restarted my phone, and the Board will flicker to SwiftKey but then switch automatically to Apple's native keyboard. I've installed other third-party keyboard applications to test if this is an issue for them (e.g. Fleksy and GBoard) and run into no issues. Seems to just be an issue with SwiftKey.
Is there a recommended fix for this? This never occurred or was an issue prior to installing the 14.4 software update.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is there a way to completely disable the incognito mode of SwiftKey? It is extremely annoying and does not even know how to do voice to text and the layout and everything is drastically different. I end up having to get out of the application open up something like Microsoft Word, use SwiftKey to type what I wanr then do cut it and then paste it back into the original document because the incognito mode doesn't work very well.
Please tell me how to disable Incognito mode completely.

Typing bug (punctuation/enter key) Répondu
4 votes
11 commentaires
I'd hoped this issue would have been fixed by now but it appears that it's not a very popular problem, and so I've decided to take it upon myself to provide the correct information to get it looked at. I have found a few other forum posts with the exact same issue, so I hope this helps you all too.
Here is the required information;
- Huawei P20 Pro - EE network, UK
- Android 8.1.0: Huawei's EMUI build, version CLT-L09 8.1.0.159(C782)
- Swiftkey version: 7.2.1.17
- Steps to reproduce:
- When typing in the standard layout QWERTY keboard, if pressing the "123" key in the very bottom-left of the keyboard, immediately and swiftly followed by punctuation such as a question mark (on the symbol/number layout that appears), the keyboard acts as though the "enter" key in the very bottom-right of the symbol keyboard is pressed before the punctuation you selected, despite not pressing it at all. This means that a new line begins before your punctuation, and it shouldn't. For example, if attempting to quickly type the word "What?" on the keyboard, you will get this instead:
What
?
- I have added a link below to a screen-recording of the issue. In the video, you will see the "?" and the "enter" keys both light up as though both are being pressed, however only the "?" is actually being pressed. What you should see is "What?", there should not be a new line added before the "?". This happens with other punctuation also, but as the "?" is the most frequently used, I thought I'd go with that for the video.
- Link: https://vimeo.com/312434866
Importantly: This error does NOT happen if you restore the Swiftkey application to its original version via the Google Playstore. The issue only begins when updating the application, and so the bug must have inadvertently been included recently. I can't remember when the issue started, but it has been a few months and a handful of updates, and the issue still remains.
I hope this information is sufficient to locate and fix this bug, it's a real nut-ache for me as it happens 95% of the time I use punctuation after a word.
