When I type in Chinese and Japanese, SwiftKey does not really learn the slang words that I typed. It's a bit frustrating

Unwanted comma's4 votes 21 commentaires
How can I stop unwanted comma's from cropping up? Also it causes the following word to be capitalised. I find it so annoying that I'm thinking about getting another keyboard. I've had this since it was a paid app, in fact I paid for dozens of keyboard looks before they just gave it away, free.

Since English is a standard spoken language you should add to the English base language other 2 spoken languages so you are able to type in 3 languages simultaneously.

My Swiftkey doesn't work in Mail app ONLY. So weird.. Any suggestions?
Semicolon and other less common punctuation4 votes 8 commentaires
I saw someone else half address this, but whenever I try to add a semicolon after using flow input I get a space been the last word and the punctuation. If I want to use a semicolon or make my own made-up-phrase, I either have to backspace the last letter of what I've swiped (flowed) so it knows to look at what comes next as individual characters, or use the arrow keys to back up after hitting that semicolon and backspace spaces. Same applies to hyphenated words or series of words, but there's no reason to have the semicolon/colon/hyphen or dash not but the end of the preceding word. Particularly with the semicolon. I tend to like my punctuation as a way to fragment what would be a run on sentence and other areas where it would be appropriate but SwiftKey wants there to be space on either side of the ";" character or when using hyphenations. It should always hug the word to the left like a comma would; this range is same idea applies to full-on commas as well: it wants to have a space on either side instead of jumping back to the end of the last word like typing a period would. Why not give some (slightly) more obscure punctuation and symbols the period and comma treatment where after flowing a word it auto-spaces, but if a period, comma, or second space is input next that keyboard will smartly insert the formatting and punctuation before the auto-space between words.
Another hiccup I have that's always a fight is, for example, I want to list a file extension, SwiftKey will fight me to the pain several times in a row to not have it try to reformat that section to a URL.
It's to the point that I will flow a word, [backspace], [backspace], retype last letter of word and then long-pressing the "n" key for my semicolon to be in the proper place.
Side note:if the keyboard has to autocorrect the second half of a hyphenated word or expression it will add a space between the hyphen and the word it fixed looking like "blahblib- blahblah", assuming it had to fix my 'blahblah' for me, when the goal was "blahblib-blahblah".
SwiftKey is still hands down the most robust, well-rounded keyboard and I want you guys to continue to dig in your heels, keep pushing the envelope, and retain that innovation and magic autocorrect advantage without it getting too bogged down and keep it first time user friendly!
Keep up the stellar work guys!
Also if you wanted to add gravy it'd be nice to have a way to flow on a larger screen (5.5" on my Pixel XL) when I'm manipulating the phone entirely with one hand without totally scrunching up the keyboard with the one-handed layout.
Opening and Closing animation4 votes 2 commentaires
Is it possible to add a feature where the keyboard animates while closing (E.g. Sliding Down) and opening (E.g. Sliding Up)? Thanks for reading!
Change capitalization of last word with shift4 votes 10 commentaires
In older an older version of swiftkey I was able to change capitalization of the last word. Now pressing shift changes the capitalization of the next word. Since swiftkey is not very good in predicting capital letters in German I always have to manually select the last words again and then change it afterwards.
Is it possible to change that behavior?
Flow to replace selected text - miscorrections4 votes 4 commentaires
I've run into a particularly annoying bug.
Let's say I have already:
One two three
And I select (highlight) three:
One two three
And then, with "three" still selected, I swipe the word "seven":
One two seven
The word is now correct but the word in the middle of the prediction panel is still "three". If I press space or type any other character it miscorrects "seven" back to "three":
One two three
This is particularly noticeable in Chrome. When I tap the URL bar while already on a page, whatever the current URL is will be pre-selected for me. So let's say I want to search for "happy cats". If I swipe "happy", I get "happy" but the middle suggestion is "I". So if I swipe or type "cats" next, it becomes: "I cats". In the past week I have run into this SO many times as it hijacks my attempts to Google in Chrome.
SwiftKey has become a nightmare4 votes 18 commentaires
I've been using SwiftKey for years now, and it has become more and more painful, to the point that I'm a meme to my friends now due to the way I type if I don't read twice before sending.
First, it looks like SwiftKey went from correcting my typos to considering that my typos are the way words are supposed to be written. So it corrects the right words into wrong.
Second, the French corrector is pretty broken to begin with, there are even tenses it don't know. So I have to manually rewrite verbs, even if I had them right the first time, because SwiftKey mess with it.
Last of all, since I switched to a new A5 2016 recently, the keyboard sometimes erases one to two words while I'm typing, for no reason.
I also have the "SwiftKey closing while I'm typing" problem I saw elsewhere, happens on Textra and Facebook Messenger.
I use the last beta of the app, with swift off because it made the keyboard even more laggy and unpredictable.
I wanted to change app, but yours is the best in terms of customization and key placement.
As you could have guessed I'm French. Strangely enough (?) I had absolutely no issue typing this message. Is French the problem? Or the way your app learnt me? Both?

Just recently my enter changed from being able to add a new line to sending the message. I really wish I could switch this back. If it's in the settings, I CANNOT find it.
Deleted personalized dictionary backup - still being offered non-words3 votes 1 commentaire
For example, "Ha e" is still being suggested (a mistype of "have"), after three times deleting my personal dictionary. I want these non-words removed! They should have never been learned in the first place.
Where'd my beloved search function go?3 votes 0 commentairesI know that you have decided "Hi, thank you for your interest in Search. We have taken the decision to remove Search from Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard. As of Microsoft SwiftKey 7.8.3, Search won't be available in Toolbar. We are sorry if this comes as disappointing news, we will instead focus our development efforts in other exciting areas of your keyboard." But how about we get an explanation as to why you decided that? If it's the thing about bing, that doesn't matter, I used chrome in my search function anyway and I think many others did as well.

[Essential Features Request] Microsoft SwiftKey is Missing the QR-Code Scanner feature3 votes 2 commentaires
As a user, I would like to be able to use SwiftKey Keyboard to scan a barcode (QR-Code). By clicking a simple button that opens the camera and ready to scan a QR-code.
I think everyone wants to use this essential feature.
Adding words automatically3 votes 0 commentairesNeed to see why my SwiftKey is adding words to my sentences? I have looked at the settings and cannot see anything that would allow this. For example if I type "hello how is it going" it will type "hello how is everything it going". I don't want this feature, why would anyone? It is adds the word "everything" in that example. I'm constantly having to clear the memory, which helps, but it still should not be predicting my sentence and adding words. I use flow mostly just so you know
(Request) Long awaited features for Android3 votes 1 commentaireDear community and developers, due to the fact that Swiftkey for Android has been around for a long time, it is frustrating that the iOS version is currently getting essential new features much earlier. I am waiting now for a very long time for an option to move the cursor via the space bar as in Google's Gboard (or the iOS version of Swiftkey). And also an auto changing dark mode along Android 10 system settings would be much appreciated. When can we finally expect to see these features in the Android version of Swiftkey too? Thx and best regards, Nikolas
Scroll cursor with space bar.3 votes 4 commentairesCan you please look at making it possible to scroll through text, in all directions, with the space bar, instead of having the arrow keys? Most other apps do, including my native keyboard app (Samsung). Thanks.
Autocorrect in telegram app3 votes 6 commentairesAfter the last update their is no more autocorrect in telegram, as if I was writing a password.
Remove words from autocomplete permanently.3 votes 1 commentairePlease add the option to remove words from the dictionary permanently. For example, remove "y" permanently. I either have stupid big thumbs or crappy hand eye coordination, but I often hit y instead of the suggested word. I've also removed "God" from the dictionary multiple times, but it keeps coming back. There's no reason for god to be capitalized when you say "god damnit" or "oh god". Are SwiftKey developers particularly religious folks? If not, why does this (and other deleted words) keep being added back to the dictionary?
Suggestion for Swiftkey3 votes 0 commentairesAs a math student, I think that it would be INCREDIBLY helpful to have a "math symbols" page for they Keyboard, to be activated by the user if he prefers to have it Engineers, mathematicians and students from many many areas would benefit from it!
Force Dark mode issues3 votes 7 commentairesGreetings, I am having a challenge with the legibility of some of the keys of my keyboard when I put on "force Dark mode" this is the only app that I have a problem with and I pray that you resolve it. The keys are the spacebar, backspace, enter, shift key, left, right and down arrow keys, the search icon in the top bar specifically.
Disable period key next to spacebar3 votes 4 commentairesHi, love SwiftKey till the end, but almost everytime I use SwiftKey, all.my.sentences.look.like.this. The spacebar is shrinked from the right side thanks to a period being there, and I have made so many misclicks on it since I always use the right part of the spacebar to enter a space. An option to remove that period would be very welcomed. SwiftKey has literally been my go-to keyboard for like 2 years now, but no matter how long I've been with it, that period still gets in the way. Any help is appreciated.

How Do I Get Rid Of This Dedicated Minimize Bar Below On SwiftKey Keyboard?3 votes 8 commentaires
SOLUTION RESOLVED! SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF MY POST TO GET SOLUTION!
So I just upgraded form. The Note 9 to the Note 10+ 5G today with T-Mobile and did smart switch and then enabled SwiftKey Keyboard and logged into my account for backup.
Then I noticed this dedicated bar all the way acrossed and below my Keyboard that has a dedicated minimize arrow button pointing down on the left side and a dedicated switching keyboard button on the right.
This was not on my previous phone which was a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 using SwiftKey Keyboard Beta. I don't like this as it is in the way from where I normally press my thumb for the spacebar as I want to press lower down at the bottom of my phones screen and also it makes the keyboard taller and obstructs more of the view on my screen when the keyboard is open. How do I remove this?
I am using Swiftkey Keyboard Beta and have tried looking in the settings and can find anything. Here is a attached picture of what I'm talking about. https://ibb.co/yqCsK1L
with the solution he posted below. This worked for me on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G device running Android 10!
This issue is not related to SwiftKey Keyboard itself becausett rather a system feature. You beed tongo to your phones settings (Not the SwiftKey Settings.) so Settings> Display> Navigation bar> Toggle the switch to turn off "Show button to hide keyboard." and that removes the bar.
Also with that note SwiftKey SHOULD update their support notes saying that they do not have a dedicated minimize button and say that you can have a dedicated minimize button by doing the following steps to toggle the switch to on.
SwiftKey does not switch setImeHintLocales3 votes 0 commentaires
Hi swiftKey developers! I am a regular user of your keyboard for Android. I am also an Android developer. In the process of writing one of my language learning application found you have a bug that affects my application. Namely keyboard switching by setImeHintLocales parameter is not supported (more detailed https://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/TextView#setImeHintLocales(android.os.LocaleList) ). The native Gboard keyboard supports this. Please make the appropriate changes. https://youtu.be/iR7mRzDq0zU
Also there is a suggestion to you to make a method. A method that would tell the main application which layout the language has switched to, i.e. throw in the “en " code when the user switches to the English layout. Good luck!
parola con apostrofo o troncamento3 votes 14 commentaires
vorrei capire come memorizzare termini. In pratica la tastiera swiftkey non memorizza il termine <po'>, che in italiano è il troncamento di poco ed è un termine molto utilizzato. Nella lingua italiana <po> non esiste. Esiste <Po> maiscolo, cioè il fiume Po.
E' un problema che posso risolvere in autonomia?
