it would be nice to at least know WHY Swiftkey is unable to provide a Dvorak keyboard for iOS as they ARE able to do in Android

Please bring them back!

SPACE AFTER PERIOD ISSUE7 votes 12 commentaires
Is there a way to stop the automatic space after a period?
Most of my typing is in regards to IP addresses, email address and the like.
Most of the time I do not want a space following the period. Perhaps an option in the settings area would help.
Delete Crystal Ball7 votes 2 commentaires
Until the crystal ball thing gets removed from the non beta app, I'm going to post here every week complaining about it. Give us the choice to remove it. Thanks.
[Feature Request] Allow custom color of the keyboard font7 votes 4 commentaires
Hi there, is it possible to put colours to the keypad at the custom theme design. Sometimes the existing colours doesn't match with the background photo.
Sincerely for everyone
[Feature request] Voice recognition WITHOUT Google Répondu7 votes 6 commentaires
Hi all. I've been using SwiftKey for a veeery long time and it's amazing. I really liked the voice integration but a while back I started to get away from Google products (yes, Android is from Google but you can strip quite a lot of their stuff from it) and I (sadly) discovered that after removing Google Search app the voice dictation stopped working.
SwiftKey is now owned by Microsoft and MS has it's own voice recognition. There is also a Common Voice project from Mozilla (https://voice.mozilla.org/) which should be more open/transparent (though they are only collecting data / training for now).
Having alternative voice input would be awesome!
Symbol layout7 votes 3 commentaires
Please add customization options for the symbol keyboard layout. The SwiftKey one is totally unintuitive - the normal symbol layout that's been in use for years didn't need reinventing, and it's one of the ways the standard Google keyboard is clearly superior for my use. The new layout completely trips up long-standing muscle memory for no discernable benefit.
T9 - portrait keybord7 votes 0 commentaires
Is it possible to get the old t9 keyboard without downloading some other app?
I really like using SwiftKey, but I'm much faster when writing on t9. 😊
emoji prediction defaults to male gender7 votes 0 commentaires
How can I change the default gender of the text prediction emojis? I.e. The gender of the suggested emoji is always male, how do I change that to female?
Word prediction only in selected language7 votes 2 commentaires
Is there a way to disable the multi language prediction? I have german and english installed and it's totally annoying that the word prediction uses both languages at the same time. This causes many false predicted words.
I only want to have predictions in the current active language. Since it is so easy to switch between the languages by swiping the space bar I don't need any pseudo intelligent language detection.
Support for a Thai keyboard language7 votes 4 commentaires
I know that the Android version has Thai keyboard for a while now so I am wondering why is it taking so long for the iOS version to come up with it. I've purchased the SwiftKey hoping to use it but without the multilingual input it is kinda been useless to me so far.
Keeps replacing "I'm" with "I" even with autocorrect turned off. Répondu7 votes 33 commentaires
I cannot for the life of me get SwiftKey to stop replacing "I'm" with "I". It happens about 50% of the time and makes for some incredibly odd sounding sentences like "hey I going to the store" or "I on my way".
If I just repeatedly flow "I'm" this happens: "I I'm In I I'm I I'm I I'm I I'm I'm" where it alternates between the two, this is after telling it "do not predict I again".
I even turned off autocorrect and it STILL does it.
Device is an AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android 7.0, using SwiftKey Beta 184.108.40.206. Steps to reproduce: try to type (using flow) "I'm".
Multiple Language Priority Répondu7 votes 26 commentaires
I use a few different languages with SwiftKey and it works great, but I use English the most. But ever since I added the other languages I communicate in, SwiftKey seems to be suggesting foreign words over common words in English. Like "N°" instead of "No" and "Só" instead of "So".
Is there a way to hint to SwiftKey to prioritize English words so I stop sending "N°, I don't want to go to that restaurant" to my friends?
Auto-capitalization of "I"7 votes 2 commentaires
I'd like the uppercase "I" to stop being predicted. I've removed it a bunch of times but it still brings it up. I just want to use lowercase "i" from now on. Is the only way to do this to continue to manually correct it on the prediction bar? It doesn't seem to be working.
Japanese keyboard nearly unusable: anyone else?7 votes 8 commentaires
I have English, Chinese, Japanese and German enabled. I find the keyboard in general rather laggy for me, but nothing unbearable. The exception is Japanese, which I am virtually unable to use, both because of extreme lag and because the keyboard can't seem to handle simple phrases or words and will stop showing suggestions.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it an issue with the Japanese keyboard itself, or is it because SwiftKey is becoming overwhelmed by having to make predictions in four languages simultaneously? If it is the latter, would it be possible to switch off this function and switch languages manually? I understand that this is a vital function for many people, but I personally don't need to type in all four languages at once.
Thanks very much! :)
Switching between Languages Répondu7 votes 29 commentaires
Is there any shortcut to Switch Between Languages? Every time I have to go to settings to select required Language. Very Lengthy Process.
How to change keyboard layout to my own custom layout7 votes 15 commentaires
Hello, SwiftKey is the best keyboard, but the qwerty layout has flaws, as well as all the other keyboard layouts for thumb typing.
I have made my own layout, and want to test it out on SwiftKey :). Is there any way to add my own layout into the language select screen? Maybe if I rooted my phone?
I am willing to relearn a layout, and it's really easy for me to do. I want one which allows me to be sloppy and have really good autocorrect. I can text without looking, but every time I look at my screen, I see the same errors caused by certain keys being too close.
So yeah, I made my own layout, and if it's not perfect, I have an idea for writing a program which can figure out a better layout, and I will continually test each new layout.
And yes I've tried LOADS of android keyboards and also different layouts(qwerty, colemak, dvorak, azerty, etc). Swiftkey is the best for autocorrection, and the smartest so far.
I'm currently using JBak keyboard with my own layout, but it's autocorrect is rubbish.
Why go to so much hassle? because I know it's possible to text without looking at my screen, and I like being able to look up at the world whilst texting at a fast speed, followed by a quick proof read.
[Feature Request] Additional layout for Lithuanian7 votes 10 commentaires
Hi Swiftkey team. I really like your keyboard and it's prediction system, but unfortunately can not use it because it does not have the most widely used in Lithuanian layout in Lithuania. It is QWERTY keyboard with Lithuanian symbols hidden number buttons:
1-ą;2-č;3-ę;4-ė;5-į;6-š;7-ų;8-ū; (9;0;- skipped) =-ž;
Would it be possible to include this layout to your App. Because I really want to use it but it is really uncomfortable with other keyboard.
Arabic layout is messed up for longpress characters7 votes 30 commentaires
I started using SwiftKey this past month after testing it out on my new phone and I think I'm sticking with it. But one thing I loathe about it is how all the characters on the Arabic keyboard are scattered around with no logical connection between them, I'm not talking about the main letters but the ones you get when you long press a letter.
Let me give you an example, in both Google's GBoard and Apple's keyboard and probably every keyboard out there when you long-press on the letter Alif (ا), the equivalent of A, you'd get all the variations أإآء... But SwiftKey kind of have them scattered around like on a physical keyboard which is not very thoughtful. This leaves me either guessing or using an ugly theme with all the letters shown.
This problem is present on both the main beta releases of the keyboard on iOS and Android.
Onde foi parar a tecla Ç? Répondu7 votes 9 commentaires
O teclado omitiu a tecla Ç, e deveria estar presente no teclado para o padrão de escrita brasileiro ABNT.
Where did the Ç key go?
The keyboard omitted the Ç key, and should be present on the keyboard for the Brazilian ABNT writing pattern.
&, %, @, etc. Symbols on iPhone ABC Keyboard6 votes 1 commentaireI tried switching to iPhone earlier this year, and tried Swiftkey and Google Keyboard Apps on it. It is maddening having to switch to the SYM screen and back to the ABC screens. In Android, a delayed 'press' on a number key brings up a symbol like &, %, @, etc. Much more efficient! Will Apple iOS not their keyboards to do this? If not, why? If they did, I would switch back.(Apple's embedded keyboard doesn't even provide numbers across the top...at least Swiftkey does)Since the keyboard is the main source for input on a smartphone, I've chosen stay with Android. Thanks,
Syncing/Download of saved words to new device issue6 votes 1 commentaire
New Mate 20 Pro handset, trying sync/download saved words etc to new device - Logged in with google account and it tells me it has sync'd, but none of my saved words or stats are available on the new device - I don;t appear to be the only one with this issue - can you advise please?
I can't restore my list of saved words (my data)6 votes 0 commentaires
I used Swiftkey on my Xiaomi Mi5 for several years (more than 5 probably linked to my google account and recently switched to a Mi5, but when trying to retrieve my saved words (My data) from the previous smartphone, I am unsuccessful.
When trying to link with the google account I don't have any correct word predictions like my Mi5. I have already tried to switch to swiftkey beta, but also to no avail.
The odd thing is that by accessing the "Swiftkey data portal", going to "View data", I can see every list of saved words to export. But they do not appear on my android.
I'm really frustrated with that, and if I want to start over with a keyboard, I'll probably choose to migrate to another competitor that truly provides this feature.
Installing on a new phone6 votes 4 commentaires
On my old phone I used to have swiftkey and really enjoyed it. My phone died so I got a new one and today I installed swiftkey on it and logged in to the program. One thing I immediately noticed (and was disappointed with) was on my new phone is that all my suggestive words seem to be gone. What I mean is for work I send a lot of similar texts and it got to the point my phone would pretty much suggest the next word I intended to use because I had written that exact sentence so many times. I always saw the app boasting about how many words it had suggested and key strokes it had saved me. Since you have a profile you log into for the program I was hoping it was stored online or something to where these suggestive words would somehow "download" onto the new phone but so far it does not look like. Was there a file or something that was saved locally on the old phone i May be able to move over?
Swiftkey has failed to sync my saved words6 votes 15 commentaires
Sync is enabled on my old and new phones. I have synced both phones ans still i am unable to see my saved words.
Is there any hard way to move my data to my new phone, my old phone has words which are saved for a period of three years.
Sync not possible.6 votes 16 commentaires
I have a new smartphone since yesterday. am connected to a google account. My predictions are not syncronized.
Sync & backup *all* pinned CLIPBOARD clips & keyword shortcuts for them (or at least: optional Import/Export as .txt or .xml) ACROSS phones!6 votes 6 commentaires
I use SwiftKey on multiple phones. Same login / account.
They should all be able to add new clips but also have ability to SEE clips added from different phones (same SwiftKey user!)
I'm speaking about - SYNC.
Our clipboards clips AREN'T BACKED UP AND SYNCED.
I have so many of them set-up. Do u know how much TIME I have spent setting Pinned clipboard clips and shortcuts up, just to lose them all? :(
Please, SwiftKey team, SYNC them.
Or at least, give option to export and import! (XML, TXT, whatever - as long as Import exists, too!)
I lose so much of my hard work because you DON'T backup/sync clipboard content and pinned items and shortcuts ACROSS PHONES, when SwiftKey account is the same...
I once lost my phone and bought another, enabled SwiftKey and NONE OF MY CLIPS were saved. :((((Such a big disappointment!
Please give this HIGH priority, PLEASE.
Kindest regards, Helen
PS. Do you, other fellow SwiftKey users, agree that there should be Backup & Sync (and/or Import / Export) of our Clipboard's clips?Pinned ones, especially!
Auto incognito switching and typing (Accented characters)6 votes 1 commentaire
It's awesome to know that SwiftKey can switch to Incognito mode automatically in Chrome/Firefox incognito tabs. But there's an issue.
The keyboard theme/UI for the incognito mode, does not show Accented characters. This causes serious problems while typing or want to type fast.
1. Implement the feature, to show all Accented characters, custom theme in incognito mode (just don't track the typing, and that's all).
2. Give option to turn off Auto incognito switching.
3. Give option to turn off incognito in incognito tab (may be vulnerable).
[Bug] Newest Beta update (220.127.116.11) totally broken Terminée6 votes 6 commentaires
The newest beta update (18.104.22.168) completely broke my keyboard. I am stuck using the Samsung keyboard because all swiftkey does is force close over and over again until I switch back to Samsung. This is a nightmare. Please help.
