[Feature Request] Turn off auto spaces
How can I turn off the feature which adds a space after every predicted word I select, or punctuation mark? It should only insert a space if I then decide to add another word. Having to delete excess spaces at the ends of things, or sometimes after the "#" in a hash tag, is really getting old quickly.
This is so frustrating! I've google this problem several times over the years and there is still not a solution! Anyone know of a good alternative keyboard?
I stayed on this thread in case news would ever come of this idiotic behavior being corrected or at least a simple setting being added to turn it off. No such luck after many, many years. I've been using Google's GBoard for several years now. It works almost as well on the prediction and improving as time goes on (that's still a slight advantage for Swiftkey, but less so every day) and most importantly, it doesn't keep turning my URLs and e-mail addresses into regular sentences complete with unwanted spaces being added which I have to go back and edit out, only to have it re-correct again. So I'd advise just try GBoard and hope one day the developers of this product come to their senses and become reasonable with one simple setting.
Seriously, you shouldn’t waste your time trying to reach those arrogant at MicroSoft, even though they are barely keeping the SwiftKey apps updated, I personally think, that they/MicroSoft bought up SwiftKey, and are simply watching it to die off by deliberately ignoring the users, and the customer service/support aspect of the whole thing.
You should perhaps just leave Android and give iOS ecosystem a try.
I did just that recently. If you can live with Apple’s overpriced pricing strategy, their lucked and boring, but yet pretty user friendly operating systems, even the iOS’ default keyboards are pretty solid..

As someone whose native language uses a lot of compound words, the auto space feature is very annoying. Since it's practically impossible for SwiftKey's dictionary to include all existing compound words (especially considering the countless conjugations in certain languages) I often have to write words in two (or more!) parts, then go back to remove the spaces. Why not just give me the option to write one word right after another, without spaces, as I go? Because the developers can't fathom that languages other than English - that work in a different way - exist? Or do they just think those languages don't matter? This seems extremely ignorant.
Hello Larkku, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will forward the feedback to our development team for further evaluation. Thank you for your support!
