    Hello,

We currently do not have the search for emoji, but we support emoji prediction. It works pretty much the same as "typing 'cat' to get the emoji of 'cat'".

    Can you try it?

This works nicely but it would be even better if the emoji that comes up is not quite what you want, the emoji key would bring up the section of the emojis that are close. Right now it brings up the last section you were looking at.

    And now, type "mouse" ..

You will see that emoji prediction shows ONLY a computer mouse !

    What if :

    - I was speaking of the animal mouse instead ?

    - I want to choose among the 2 animal mouse emojis ?

    - I want to write the word mouse AND + its emoji? (currently the emoji replace the word)

Moreover, there is a search option for GIF, why not for emoji?

While prediction is nice, it does not replace emoji search. For example, there are 5 cat emojis, but prediction will only show you one of them. There is no easy way to get the other 4.

I agree with the rest here. I wish Swiftkey had a search for emoji. I think it's needed, especially if you want to compete with Gboard. I find myself switching back and forth from Swiftkey to Gboard just to search for an emoji.

I was shocked when I discovered SwiftKey doesn't have this feature. It's a significant oversight and something that is invaluable in Gboard. Slowly but surely, Gboard is leaving SwiftKey behind. Even their text predictions are almost on par. Unless SwiftKey start innovating they will end up being a has been. Gboard has pretty much over taken SwiftKey as the defacto keyboard of choice and this is because Google are not resting on their laurels. It seems SwiftKey is doing just that. I don't want emoji predictions when I type. That's pointless. I do; however, want to decide when I want to find an emoji to punctuate my text. I'm sure this will be true for most people. Swiftly, get your finger out!

So? SwiftKey? Still waiting for this. I waste so much time by searching for the right emoji that I prefer just don't use them... If gboard is better in this aspect, it is totally worth switching and I am gonna look at that.

    Wtsup with this one?
3 years guys, too much time.
We understand that your product guys might have problem with that, but it's clearly that everyone needs it.. This is a major flaw in swiftkey

I gave up waiting, switched to Gboard and will never look back. Now I'm used to Gboard, I can see how vastly superior it is to SwiftKey and not just because of emoji searching. It's just a better keyboard, full stop! This issue ultimately did me a favour.

I was a dedicated SwiftKey user. I left them because of this. Frustratingly, I was one of the suckers who paid for it just before Microsoft bought them and made it free for all. I'm really pissed that this one critical feature is still missing and yet they keep adding other features that no one really gives a crap about! Gboard is a wonderful keyboard, but it isn't quite as good as SwiftKey for prediction; however, this is such a critical feature in this day and age that I can live with the slightly inferior predictive text because Gboard actually delivers features (such as this) that I need! Microsoft/SwiftKey - frankly, you suck!

I have to admit that I am also very disillusioned about SwiftKey not introducing this feature.
